Absolutely beautiful food, really lovely serving staff too. The chorizo and applewood cheese ciabatta is particularly impressive

we both had very tasty baguettes and soft drinks friendly staff even apologised for noisy machine (never had that before)

What an uncomfortable visit! Approached the doorway and waited for staff to greet us - there is a blackboard outside stating you to await the staff. We were glared at and ignored. My friend then asked to see a breakfast menu after finally gaining a staff members attention. She was snapped at ‘ theres a board ‘ with a funny face being pulled at her. This is absolutely awful and we decided to walk away. It baffles me how staff did not greet us, nor say hi, or be atleast a little welcoming. This staff member had an attitude and unfortunately we were at the brunt of it. I can see from previous reviews customer service seems to be highlighted as poor. I wont be returning

We had lunch here before booking into our hotel and tasted the best wholemeal granary bread ever! Highly recommended.

Delicious!! I’ve eaten take away here only a few times and everytime I pop back I always think wow... the Focaccia is outstanding this time I had the Brie, Avo, sweet chilli last time the pesto feta and sun dried tomatoes was both Delicious.. don’t get me started on the rocky Road just go and get one

Stopped to get sandwiches for a coastal trip. Had the pastrami, gherkin and mayo wholemeal baguette which was amazing. The staff were friendly and chatty. Highly recommended

Great place for a delicious sandwich. I chose chicken bacon and avocado in focaccia and it was superb! Good tea and unlike a lot of places we were able to have an iced coffee with non dairy milk. All on a Sunday when many other places were closed. We will definitely return next time we are in Carmarthen.

We stopped here briefly on our way to Tenby, and now refer to it as the place where we had the best baguettes ever. We had the brie, sweet chilli...and the pastrami, cheese... on brown rustic rolls. Honestly, just gorgeous!

We just happened to be passing and we’re hungry, but we’re so glad we did. The food is good, the staff friendly and helpful. We will come again

I don't know why it's taken me so long to try this place out, but so glad that I finally have now as this will be my new lunch place on days when I have to go to Carmarthen! Everything looked so good it was hard to make up my mind, but I went for the picnic platter, which is IMO an excellent modern update to the ploughman's platter concept. Ham, cheese, chutney, coleslaw, hummus, stuffed grape leaves (!!!), sun dried tomatoes, olives, salad, crackers... The crisps I could take or leave, but that's just me being very nitpicky. Just as well that I was on my own as I realised that I was making little murmuring noises of satisfaction while eating... :) Coffee also absolutely excellent. Quiet calming relaxing space to hang out in, friendly staff, prompt service -- I really have no complaints at all -- well done guys -- keep up the good work!

Très agréable moment dans ce petit café très sympa et chaleureux. J'ai pris un breakfast végétarien, cuisiné sur place, c'est du vrai homemade. Très bon et cuisiné à la perfection. Les personnes qui tiennent ce petit shop (probablement mère et fille) sont très gentilles et attentionnée. Le lieu est bien situé, juste en face du château et au centre de la ville. Le shop donne envie de rester pour se poser (surtout par Bad Weather) La déco est chaleureuse et bien trouvée. Juste une adresse parfaite comme on aime en UK. Big thanks

Wonderful place, lovely friendly people running it, don't usually have a cooked breakfast but saw some-one else have one and it looked fabulous so decided to try and glad I did, what was even better it wasn't greasy which is often the case and the bonus was homemade bread and marinated tomatoes, I will be back for another one, they have a tapas evening Saturday 29th which unfortunately we are unable to make but there will be more in the pipeline so will be going then, highly recommend do to try their coffee and awesome homemade cake for a treat.

Perfectly formed cafe with tasty platters and delicatessen style savouries served with a good sized salad. My family loved it.

Stumbled across this yesterday, amazing food, lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff. Food was good value for money and the pastries all looked freshly baked. Definitely would recommend and we’re definitely coming back!!

Wondered around town one morning looking for somewhere to have breakfast, and came upon this little place. We sat outside in the sunshine and had the tastiest fried breakfast we've had for a long time.

As passing through Carmarthen we fortunately came across this delightful Deli which was like coming across an oasis in the Desert, as we didn’t feel there was much other competition in this Welsh town. This place is a shear delight offering exceptional quality at very competitive prices. We had a light lunch with coffee which was a memorable dining experience and one we shall put on our future radar when next in the area. Undoubtedly a five star establishment run by personable and efficient staff in a prime location on the square near what remains of the Castle. If you’re passing through Carmarthen this little eatery is well worthy of a deviation.

Great cafe / lunch spot in the more traditional quarter of the town. Lovely food, excellent service and atmosphere. Quality local food and plenty of vegan / vegetarian options to choose from! Will be back!

Whilst on fact finding mission to Carmarthen to find out whether we were going to make this area our new home we came across The Old Market Square Deli. We decided from the outside that it looked appealing with a nice mix of people and a relaxed atmosphere. The service was warm and friendly and accommodated us trying to speak some welsh. The food was lovely with good portion sizes and we felt able to take our time and people watch. We will be revisiting on our next trip and I will be trying out the rissoles. We even took one of their loyalty cards as we hope to become regulars!

7 people and 3 dogs stopped here for a lunch time drink and snack whilst visiting the area. Very pleasant location. Very nice staff. Sat outside in the sun. Nice choice of snacks. Enjoyed visit.

Excellent cafe. Would have loved tk longer but was heading for my train. Beautiful salad and tasty sausage roll to go. Peanut butter hot chocolate to die for. Staff very friendly and chatty.

Wowee, what a fab find! This came highly reccomended by my best friend and I can see why. Every moment, mouthful and memory was bliss. Just had the best veggie breakfast ever at this lovely little cafe, friendly service too. Homemade toast is fantastic and the veggie sausages highly recommended.

Just had a break from Christmas shopping, coffee and home made cake, and an amazing hot chocolate with a flake. Doesn't get better than that.

Had a lovely lunch here on Monday. Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, a nice clean place to eat. I had the Haloumi, roasted pepper and sweet chilli on focaccia my husband had the chicken and bacon sandwich and my mother had the cheese and ham sandwich. We were all very happy with this tasty lunch and equally all said it was the best bread we had tasted, very nice that it is made on site. Coffee was very good too. We will definitely be back.

Could not fault the food my partner and I ordered here. Everything is sourced and cooked fresh daily and it tasted absolutely amazing!! You won’t be disappointed

We were going to have lunch here on Saturday but it was busy. Walked past it on Monday and we were one of the 1st customers. Ordered salad which was worth every penny. The service was top notch and hope to be back soon. Keep up the good work.

Can’t say I was blown away unfortunately - the food looks AMAZING and the menu is varied. Me and my partner went in for a coffee - the Coffee was ok, not lovely. Slightly bitter. Also, I was highly embarrassed for the waitress to announce to the whole of the cafe from behind the counter to inform when I was sitting at my table that my card had declined. Thankfully, a misunderstanding but as a customer, a bit of discretion in the matter would have gone a long way and would have been much appreciated.

We visited Carmarthen to see family and came across this amazing place to eat.There was a great buzz about the deli and we got a table quite quickly to say it was so busy.The food is made with love..... you can tell the owner has passion about what she does. Her handcrafted bread, with beautiful fillings was my decider for lunch. Others had toasted sandwiches and homemade sausage roll.You have many options to choose from and the cake was a must!With seating outside, people could sit and watch the world go by with a great tasting coffee.I would highly recommend here as the food is extremely tasty and very well priced

Ordered 4 sandwich lunches which took a long time to come, although the cafe appeared not to be overly busy. 3 of the lunches were fine and very tasty but the 4th is best described as a disaster. Stalks of lettuce for the salad, bones in the chicken and a sandwich that was made with foccacia rather than bread - the result being that one bite and the filling was all over me and the table. Apologies from the waitress - they were having a bad day!! Great pity because the food looked good and when properly prepared tasted good.

Called in today quite late around 15:45 with my daughter. We were unsure if they were closing but we Had a lovely welcome and had some menu options kindly pointed out by the nice waitress. We ordered sandwiches , coffee and a water. It was obvious that all was made to order and super fresh. The bread was delicious, nice accompaniment of crisps and coleslaw. My coffee was nice and hot and tasty. There were some lovely cakes too but we resisted.Will definitely visit again .Diolch

I popped in for a quick lunch whilst on a work course in Carmarthen. I was attracted by the style of the cafe and it looked really clean and welcoming.I ordered a sandwich from the board and a drink. I was taken aback when the waitress asked me if I would like my sandwich toasted for an extra £1. Seriously, a £1 for toasting? how ridiculous! My sandwich and a drink already came to over £7! Most places toast for free, I thought it was ridiculous!My sandwich was tasty and came with a little pot of coleslaw and a few crisps. The strange lone lettuce leaf was a poor addition to the plate and for the price they could have made a bit more of an effort with a small salad! In a town which has an increasingly vibrant cafe and restaurant scene I fear this nice little deli may get left behind unless they up their game!

Every weekend we go, staff are great and attentive, even with me no meat and my partner lactose free, nothing a problem and they alway are ready with answers to these

Had lunch here, and I am a difficult customer with gluten and dairy allergies. Also had my granddaughter with my and she is a picky eater. Our lunch was delicious and the freshly baked bread was a real treat. Will definitely be back soon.

We stopped recently in Carmarthen on our way home from a week in South West Wales. We were recommended this lovely cafe by a gentleman who stopped and asked if he could help as we were studying a map board. So glad we took his advice as we found a warm welcome, the best cappuccino ever, and wonderful home baked pastries as well as delicious sandwiches. Thank you and good luck with the business

I have not managed to come and say hello for the last couple of weeks because of studying but I am thinking about Lisa's food all the time! its always lush in there and the food is tasty and colourful. You can tell she loves her business and what's to give the best quality food and service for her customers and I admire her for that. Keep the good work ladies and I will see you soon! (:

Apparently this delightful place has been open for over a year and I have walked passed it many times. Next time I am in Carmarthen I shall most certainly be calling in whether it's just a coffee or light lunch. Friendly and helpful staff and a real choice of delicious food.

My first visit to Carmarthen and looking for somewhere for coffee and passed the Old Market Square and everything looked so good inside we went in. A very warm welcome and lovely coffee. So good we came back for lunch which was delicious the nicest home made focaccia I have ever had for my salmon & Creme cheese sandwich. Followed by the lightest cherry almond tart. The owner is an amazing baker I wish she lived nearer to as I would be visiting all the time.

Called in yesterday with my wife for lunch. Had a chicken bacon mayo & avocado sandwich and my wife had the cawl with cheese & bread. We had to wait a few minutes but that was because everything is made to order and amazingly fresh & delicious. The bread which is homemade was amazing so much so that I bought a loaf to take home. The young lady who served us was friendly with a nice smile. Service was very good although as lisa the owner explained the staff were new and were being trained. Definitely a must when you visit Carmarthen if you love great food & coffee.

Went here for my lunch food was very tasty and full of flavour. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Worth every penny and will be definitely going back there. Good to see small business owners doing so well.

This cafe is not cheap so to receive such poor customer service was a big disappointment. We went in full of hope but came away - having spent nearly £17 on two drinks (see below) and two focaccias. After arrival we asked for our filled focaccia and two coffees. We waited twenty plus minutes and no coffee. My husband went to the counter and the girl was serving someone else whilst our coffees were made but cooling behind her. Hubby asked for my hot milk to be reheated. She re-heated the milk; put it in a cold cup and the coffee (which I always have on the side) had cooled too - result: luke warm latte. My husbands black coffee also luke warm. When the food eventually arrived we took a couple of bites but could not eat the focaccias as they were drenched in a very strong smelling olive oil. We scraped off the salmon and cream cheese which hubby ate; supped our cool coffee and went to tell the owner that we were not happy. Her response: "Well we're very busy". No sense that she really was sorry and no offer of recompense of any sort. We went across the road to Karm'en cafe and had hot delicious coffee and wonderful cake; along with fast service - even though the same amount of staff were on duty, queues at the counter and full tables. I know where I will go next time.

Called in for a light lunch and a coffee on a cold, grey day. I received a very warm welcome, a delicious Chicken, Bacon and Avocado sandwich and a great Americano, all for a very reasonable price. The coffee was so good I had a second cup! I’d have had another sandwich but they are huge! The deli offers a good range of tasty snacks and hot and cold drinks. Small and very friendly, the place has a really nice atmosphere.

Went for lunch on a Monday and the cafe hours were 10am to 3pm. A small cafe but nicely done out and over looking the castle and Nott Square so a good location. I had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich which was very nice, home made coleslaw was excellent. Pot of tea came with two small home made Welsh cakes which were fresh from the morning and delicious. Nice friendly staff and reasonably priced. We will return, it is well worth a visit.

I went there for my birthday with a dozen friends for tapas. We had a private function and the staff could not do enough for us. The food was freshly made using locally sourced ingredients. Everything was stunning and we had vegan and vegetarian options for some of the party (which we all enjoyed). By day you can get coffee and snacks - homemade to order. Lisa, Maureen and staff gave us a fantastic welcome and nothing was too much trouble!

Second visit for lunch, it's a small rustic cafe that offers light a breakfast, sandwiches and cakes. Some nice interesting choices with everything freshly made to order only the service can be slow.They seem to of started selling deli items of decent quality locally produced.A nice change to go and would go back.

Wow!!! The food is incredible..... and service too! All locally sourced ingredients, healthy and delicious. So much love put into the food. This is a must to visit! 5⭐️

Excellent customer service, I’m always made to feel so welcome that I will call even when I’m on my own for coffee. The coffee is excellent, food is delicious and home made, the bacon sandwiches and the coleslaw are the best. It’s a gem of a place in Carmarthen and well worth venturing out of the main shopping areas to visit. If you love proper food and not the mass produced stuff then this is the place to visit and you get a lovely view of the old Castle too x

This is a great place to visit, you can also get takeaways. The food seemed to be very artisan in its process, breads were being delivered, as we entered and looked amazing. Service can be slower when busy, but food is freshly cooked to order, and its done with passion, it shows on the plate. The staff are also well trained, and we found our visit amazing. loved it. Well done
