Had an evening meal here for our anniversary whilst visiting family. Excellent customer service and lovely selection of food which was beautifully cooked and presented. Would definitely come back when we are in the area. Thank you 😊

Visited for a meal as part of a group. When we arrived we didnt get show to our seat just told where it was (not the end of the world). We were sat for a while and then had to go to the bar to get our own menu, then go to the bar and order our drinks (any time we wanted a drink throughout the night). y first drink I requested the raspberry and orange blossom soda and what I was given was soda with dried raspberries in it. The next time I ordered ust orange blossom soda and was given the right drink for my first order. I ordered a pot of tea and I was asked by a waitress to grab the teapot by the bottom (obviously hot) to which me and the table I was sat at laughed and tried to just play it off but she stood there waiting for me to grab it... I had to explain that obviously a teapot is hot and I cant just grab it. Food was ok, very expensive for what it is. I had calimari and steak because they were sold out of what I actually wanted. The calimari was meh, bland in itself (I would argue frozen and pre-prepared just drop fried) and the sauce it came with smelled like antibac, I think its some sort of cajun mayo. The steak was cooked blue, as per request, and tasted nice, beef dripping sauce was gorgeous and the tomatoes were stunning. The chips however, again a guess, were frozen as 3 of mine and 2 of another guests were cold and hard in the middle. Oh and we didnt get asked if we wanted sauces, any top up drinks or anything like that. I think for a place with such high prices and classy interior, I expected a little more service. I felt like I was at wetherspoons but paying twice as much for the experience. Really put me off going back. For the same price you can go to beefeater over the road and get more food, unlimited drinks and be served your items rather than ordering them yourself at the bar.

My husband and son had belly pork which they loved but i had fish and chips which wasnt so good. The fish didnt taste like haddock and was thin and tasteless.

Welcoming atmosphere, got greeted with a smile and shown to our seats Friendly service Amazing Sunday dinner, lashes of gravy, quality food. Dog friendly. The apple crumble was delicious. The only improvement we would suggest would be the quality and amount of crackers that were served with the cheeseboard and don't forget the butter :-) Update: We've now been back a few times as we just can't get enough of their Sunday dinners. It is amazing every time. We have also tried other dishes which don't disappoint, especially the steak! The Old farmhouse has quickly become our favourite venue to eat and relax in, knowing our dogs are welcome and the service is great! :-)

Never been here before. But will be back the table was fantastic, like a private booth. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. A great experience all round thank you.

The atmosphere is incredible and the staff is very friendly. They also have a children's menu, which is very important to say at an affordable price. I ordered a passion fruit martini, which I really liked the flavor and also the eggplant is not bad. I would like it.l wish they had ymore variety on the menu but in general very good service😀

We hadn't been to the Old Farmhouse before but will definitely be back. I had smoked haddock fishcakes and my daughter had calamari starter and crab cake starter. We were both delighted, the food was delicious and the staff couldn't be nicer. A lovely experience all round. Looking forward to our next visit! My photo doesn't do it justice .

Beautiful Sunday lunch. Slightly higher price than your average but worth it. The veg was super fresh, the service was quick and friendly and the whole meal was delicious.

Just what you want. Nice atmosphere, excellent service and the nicest Sunday lunch (I had the pork belly and was excellent) tender and crispy at the top. They also do a mini desert version, where for the price of a pudding you get a hot drink and a mini pudding. Try it you won’t regret

Came across this country pub from a Google search when I was in the area! Decided to check it out after reading some of the reviews and I’m glad I did! I was served by Sarah who was very friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, very traditional and cosy! Would highly recommend!

Called in here whilst visiting a very good friend. It is a little out of the way but worth the trip. We were greeted warmly and shown to a free table. The service was very friendly and prompt. The choice of food was great, so I had the pork belly, it was excellent and finished off with a very nice sticky toffee pudding. The was also an amazing pavlova, the likes I have not seen before which I will be ordering upon my next visit. Would I go again, definitely

It's a while since we've visited the farmhouse and it's had yet another wonderful revamp. Our waiter, Ellis, was extremely friendly and helpful and was a pleasure to chat with. The meal was delicious also. Our compliments to the chef and waiter who made this evening's meal out very memorable.

We were a big party of 13 for an 80th birthday celebration. While they were very busy in the rest of the restaurant, they still maintained outstanding service. Food was excellent, very attentive staff and overall a relaxing atmosphere. Can not recommend highly enough. Love the hot drink and mini pudding option. Just right! Thank you.

Four of us went here for lunch...The menu is Gorgeous...lots of wonderful choice and the service was out of this world......served by Emily who was so friendly.....nothing was too much......Fab Fab 👌.

Called in for lunch. A lovely well presented and decorating English pub. A good selection of ales and wine, nice food. A couple of minor issues, took a long time before the food arrived and the special offer, lunchtime meal menu, wasn't pointed out to us, just handed the regular menu ( could have had a starter or desert for the same price ). We'd still go back though.

Had Sunday lunch here - food was pleasant. Service rather slow from the bar - would have been better to let us go to the bar and order our own drinks while we looked at menus.

Food was nice, staff were awesome. My issue was the pricing. The menu prices need updating. There’s no way that Smoked Haddock & Spinach fishcakes (£15.75), Fish and Chips (£17.25), Sticky toffee pudding (£8.25), Mango & Passion fruit pavlova (£8.75) and 4 glasses of Pepsi came to £70.29! The food alone was £50 so are glasses a Pepsi £5 each or what?! Definitely got robbed somewhere.

My family enjoyed a delicious lunch here, during a recent holiday to Darlington. The service was outstanding, especially from the manager who lit the fire for me! From the food to cozy atmosphere, this venue had it all. I highly recommend 👌

The food quality is going downhill fast. I asked if they had new chefs as the food wasn't great. I asked the server a question, and she laughed in my face, then tried to apologise but started laughing again in the next sentence. 6 months ago this place was excellent, I don't know why it's not anymore. Two bad meals recently, won't be back.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch it was busy but we didn’t wait long for our food to be served my husband had pork and I had turkey plenty of fresh vegetables served separately and lovely gravy, it was the best Sunday lunch we’d had and we’ve gone to many pubs etc !! We will certainly be going there again!! Staff were lovely also!!

Food was really good. Plenty of choice of vegetables. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We visited with our dog and he was made to feel as welcome as we did. Prices are a little high

The staff were polite, friendly and helpful over the course of the evening. The food was lovely and we all felt comfortable and happy.

Quite possibly the worst experience of our lives.. To start we were told there was limited options on the menu. When we came to order there was even less. When the starters arrived the waitress had got one of the dishes wrong. Which meant one person had to wait for their right order while the others were eating. Meanwhile someone else’s starter had a lovely hair resting on their calamari. So two people sat without food watching the other two try eat soup with a fork as we were given no cutlery.. When the mains had arrived we ordered a round of drinks from the waitress who then disappeared. We then ordered again from someone else after 20 minutes of waiting. The waitress then reappeared and served us our drinks. We asked if she had forgotten about us in which they replied “No, I just have a lot of overwhelming jobs to do” (we were the only people left in the restaurant). In fairness the barman was nice and friendly and had given a discount for the inconvenience. Safe to say we will not be returning..

There were 11 of us on a team meal, the Old Farmhouse provided a lovely atmosphere, great service and the food was amazing.

Got there 6:30ish. Told they are stopping service early. Ran out of Sunday dinners. Limited zero alcohol drinks. Food was beautiful, only problem is running out of dinners. Steak was a delight, although I asked for medium well got mediumish, still good. Great staff, nice country pub to bring someone you love or even the wife.

Lovely lunch on a Wednesday. It was busy so we should have booked but we weren't in a rush so didn't mind the wait they warned us about. Food was excellent. Very tasty. Will come again and try more.

The prices for drinks have gone crazy. £9.90 for a glass of prosecco and £2.15 for a glass of blackcurrant and water. I'm sorry this is pure profiteering, and completely unnecessary. How can I go to one restaurant and pay £6.50 and this is £9.90 for the same drink. Water is free, so £2.15 for a shot of cordial. Sorry, that's greed. The food is always lovely here, but the portions have definitely taken a hit. Almost £18 for prawn skewers, with 5 prawns, a little bit of salad and 1 wrap Same for the chicken skewers. Trust me you wont be full after eating here.

As always everything was great , food , service, atmosphere, nice and cosy fireplace ! Been coming here for over a year now, sometimes few times a week , and always great experience, today we’ve been served by Lovely Katie , but everyone is just as nice , including gentlemen’s at the bar poring best lagger !!!!! 🤗

It was my first visit to this pub today and I'm very impressed. Such a lovely place with a nice atmosphere, the fact that dogs are allowed was a huge bonus! Food was amazing and all staff professional and friendly.

a uneddble pie had 2 peaces of meat 6 carrots mash that could be used as wall putty a bit stingy with the gravy for the price it was disappointing and overpriced

Absolutely fabulous Sunday lunch here today. I had the veggie nut roast, the wife had the veggie wellington. Both delicious. Great service and a nice atmosphere.

Went for lunch as a couple service was good and friendly. Starters were really good and seemed great value. The main course ordered was rack of lamb with shepherds pie which sounded great. When it came I was amazed at the rack which I would call three small lamb chops for £22 I was amazed at the portion.

Lovely meal with lovely attentive staff. One happy dog with his choice of doggy menu. He recommends the sausage. Well done will be back!

Great food, wide choice on the menu. Friendly polite staff. Sat to one side of the fireplace so it was warm but not too hot. Made use of a great value voucher I received from Vintage Inns by email. Definitely prompted us to go for a meal out, something we don't often do.

Popped in for a drink. It was quiet but welcoming. The fire was on which was lovely. Serve Aspall which is a plus. Shame I wasn't drinking.

The food and service was very good. However, it was the first time I'd used the app. When we asked about getting our loyalty points we were told we should of shown the app before paying. The person was aware I had the app as I had shown him the 50% off mains voucher and he had scanned the QR code. Not once did he mention the loyalty points. So a little disappointed.

It was very busy but the service and food were great.

There was 3 in our party. Service was very good. Food came out quite quick. 2as dissatisfied the chips were cold on 2 of the meals. One ordered duck pizza they said it was OK. We did complain but only about one meal. They offered a free dessert or drink. I thought it was quite expensive.

Went for lovely lunch on Tuesday 9th Jan with sister & parents to celebrate their birthdays. Food was gorgeous. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Such a cold day but the lovely log fire was on. Dog friendly too which was nice to see some well behaved doggies too.

Mistake made with my husbands food, this was very quickly rectified and apologies given.

We arrived at 6.20 our starters arrived at 7.20 Luke warm waited so long did t bother complaining , main meal an hour after starters . My friend had lamb skewers very tough Had 50-% off mains voucher wouldn’t have been happy if paid full price I have ate here many times in the last 25 years , 1st time being disappointed

The service was fantastic and food lovely. The only issue was how cold the pub was. I specifically asked to sit somewhere warm as the keep was for my elderly parents birthdays. We were seated by a live fire but had to keep asking for logs to be put on. Those seated on chairs not near the fire were freezing as it was very drafty and cold. The temperature in the pub (or where we were seated) was very cold. Recommendation put the heating on or at least have all fires on and constantly stocked with wood/coal.

I had a really nice lunch with my wife and dog at The Old Farmhouse. We found this place after searching for Dog Friendly places nearby. Not only was our dog welcomed but he was also given a bowl of water and they have a menu especially for dogs. My wife had the turkey dinner and I had the pork, both from the festive menu. The restaurant is well laid out, service and food was great, decent portions, and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely return if I am passing in future.

Excellent service. Can’t fault the staff or the venue. The pub looked so welcoming as soon as you enter. The food was promptly served, hot and delicious and both my husband and I enjoyed our chosen meals

We went for a meal at the peak of Christmas time and it was a delight. We ordered starters and mains and both were wonderful. The pate was to die for in my opinion. There was a bit of issue with my lamb kebabs (which I was offered as an extra uplift price) that they were too chewy too eat but the servers were gracious enough to take the price from our order which was kind of them. The atmosphere was lovely and after dinner we retired to the bar area in front of the fireplace for some drinks. A few of the servers greeted us as we sat in a very friendly and approachable manner. Overall grand experience.

I recommend duck , nice place , cosy, crowded on Christmas eve (Sunday) , plenty of parking space , friendly staff . Not every dishes as we expected.

Food was ok but the service and atmosphere really let the place down. Only ordered three drinks and three main course and we were there two hours due to the speed of service. Two of the wrong dishes were brought out which meant all food needed to be returned to the kitchen to be served again. Bill then also showed the wrong items. No discount was applied or offered. Worse than all of this however was how the management treated the waiting staff and how stress was passed on to customers. On arrival we were met with a very cold greeting from the manager who was clearly stressed and we then heard him shouting at the waiting staff for mistakes in the middle of the restaurant.

Whilst previous visits have been positive, this one was very disappointing. The staff were clearly uninterested in any type of customer service practice . They had to be prompted to request drinks, at no point were we advised of any delays to our food. Once the starter arrived one had to be returned (creamy garlic mushrooms) due to being stone cold. Dirty plates remained until main course, (quality of food extremely under par) again delivery of food required a prompt to the staff about time of delivery. The food was served with no delay apologies and a grunt from the waiter announcing chicken or pie which or burger, literally the only three words that were spoken. When settling the bill feed back on our experience was requested and after stating we can say it was nothing more then ok, the waiter just replied ok without asking to elaborate on what warranted this description so really why ask if you don’t know how to deal with with anything less than a positive response. All in all the dining experience and quality of food was disappointing to the point we will NEVER return. I do hope this feedback is helpful, taken in the manner of intended routes to improve at least your waiting staff skills.

Great service, great food and a lovely atmosphere for Christmas Day :-) HOWEVER, we were taken aback at the number of dogs in the restaurant area at our sitting. I counted at least half a dozen dogs and we saw 2 families that had even brought the dogs bed with them! A dog was with the family seated next to us. Not hygienic, especially as when we were eating a man walked past our table carrying a dogs bed. Had any consideration been given to people that are allergic to dogs? My son is allergic to dog hair. It never occurred to us that we'd be sharing a RESTAURANT with so many dogs and their beds. Appreciate its a dog friendly pub and I love dogs but think that those families should have been seated in the separate bar area. Or leave the dogs at home, it's only for 2 hours! Will make us think twice about having Xmas Day dinner there again which is a shame as it's our 3rd year.
