If you don't want to go to the Granary Restaurant (or it's too busy), The Old Dairy is a very good alternative. Friendly staff serve a selection of drinks, snacks and ice cream; there's even a book and flower shop. It is also dog friendly.

After being closed for a long time, the Old Dairy Cafe at Sissinghurst Castle has reopened. You still cannot sit inside but there is seating outside and it is as Covid safe as it can be - masks must be worn, hand sanitiser is available, there's a marked one way system, condiments are individually packed and contactless paying is available. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the coffee is tasty. Cold drinks and cakes are also available.

Recently reopened The Old Dairy is ably dealing with providing drinks and light refreshments to people visiting Sissinghurst Castle Gardens. A menu and hand sanistier are available prior to entering the cafe and a one out/one in operation is being used. Inside the food and drink items are for display purposes only and only card payments are taken. There is no seating iniide the cafe or immediately outside but, dound the corner, there are distanced tables in the working yard (watch out for farm vehicles) and in the field behind. Some of the tables in the field are under shelter but allhave views over the Castle's vegetable garden and surrounding countryside. There's no better place for having a drink (or snack) when visiting Sissinghurst Castle

On a miserable Sunday afternoon this is just the place to drop into for a warming cup of coffee (or lunch or a snack). The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The afternoon we were there a lot of other people obviously thought the same thing as it was very busy. Even so, the service was efficient. Two other good things; one usually Gluten Free options are available and it is dogr friendly.

We often drop in here for a drink and a cake before walking home from Sissinghurst Castle. There's usually a good selection of cakes and my wife, who is Gluten Free, can usually et something to suit her diet. They serve good snack lunches and wine, beer and cider are available. Service is fast and efficient and prices are reasonable. In addition, there's a small shop selling plants and other related items plus some souvenirs and a second-hand bookshop. An added bonus for us is that it is dog friendly.

This is a fantastic place to eat from spectacular all day breakfast, to great specials and great cakes. Today I had the lamb pie special with chips and veg. It is the best pie I’ve eaten since my Mum’s and she was a brilliant cook. Thank you.

I felt like this lovely little tea room deserved a trip advisor listing of its own. It is 5* just like it’s sister tea room, but a lot smaller. This adds to its atmosphere and it’s like stepping back in time, with the decor and music. It is quintessentially English and a really enjoyable place to stop and have a little drink and a bite to eat. They do also offer take away, which would be handy for those people working locally. Lastly the staff are also the same high standard as we have got used to in The Little Tea Pot. See you again soon and keep up the good work! You make Ashford a better place!
