Absolutely atrocious. After a pleasant visit last year we were disappointed to learn that it could provide inspiration for the next series of Fawlty Towers. It was Kirkham club day and they were apparently running a limited menu. Its a notably busy day for the town but there appeared to only be two people working. When we arrived we were stood at the counter and ignored for quite some time. As others were coming in after us, we eventually asked if we should find our own table, we were told we better had or there would be none left. We were approached for our order after a long wait and when I asked for a latte I was told she didnt have time to make one and I could have tea or coffee from a self serve area. There was a group of us, none of us enjoyed the food. Some of the order was missed and we had to ask again for the missing items. I had the pleasure of a stone cold barmcake that seemed only part defrosted with two rashers of cheap cold bacon covered in that salty substance with a lump of marg which was not even spread on the bread. It was not the birthday breakfast I had expected. I felt bad for my family member who stood the £54 bill….suffice to say we wont be back.

We went to the "Burns Celebration Lunch" on Sunday. The first time we have been to The Old Bank. We were very impressed with the cosy, pleasant restaurant. The three course meal we had was delicious. The best restaurant meal we have had for a long while. Our compliments to the Chef, the Sous Chef who served our meals and not least to the lovely Front of House lady who made us most welcome. We really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend The Old Bank. We'll be returning soon.

I had Christmas dinner here this year. I wasn't expecting much after a dreadful dinner a few years ago at a well known place in Wrea Green. The Old Bank surpassed my expectations. The food was great, the staff were brilliant and the venue was beautiful. A great Christmas meal.

Pate was tasty but very meagre amount compared to other establishments. Calamari was lovely & tender, decent portion, garlic mayo was also good. Lamb curry, 4 pieces of lamb, wasn't very good, tasted bland. The rice was over cooked & pudding like. Lemon chicken escalope was cooked well but was a bit oily. Chips were nice, fluffy & crisp. Atmosphere was a bit flat & the building was chilly. Staff were friendly & helpful. Bit of style over substance. Price wise was about average £55.00 with glass of wine & a beer plus a decent tip. Would we go back ? Came from Preston & wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. So it's a no, sorry...

Booked yesterday for sunday lunch I had Turkey husband had beef and i have to say the food was amazing. They use Honeywells meat and the roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings were fantastic. You can have a much gravy as you like you only have to ask. Managed to squeeze in a pudding I had sticky toffee pudding and husband had a chocolate brownie - again fantastic We will definately be going again and the waitress was lovely

Well my parents run a electrical business in Kirkham and they always tell us about this stunning eatery. We were visiting for the weekend and they decided for us to go there for breakfast the building still has lots of the old features of the old bank inside. The staff are friendly. We opted for the full English breakfast and coffee for all of us the food was piping hot well presented and very very tasty we really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. The menu for lunch and evening sounded absolutey stunning and next time will be going back then you ever so much for an amazing experience and look forward to returning again

I booked this venue for a private function as it is local to us, and I must say that from my initial enquiry and the night, it was perfect! Julie, Andrew and their team couldn't do enough to cater for my parties needs, (which I realised, weren't as straight forward as I had thought!). All dietary requests were catered for with the minimum of fuss and stress for me.. The food was absolutely perfect, well presented and so tasty, all delivered to the tables as efficiently and as simultaneously as we could ask for, (given the size of the party of 40). If you are looking for a place to eat, for any occasion, I can definitely recommend The Old Bank. Thank you for making my 50th perfect!

Had my Christmas Day meal here with my mrs & children, it was amazing & the staff went out of their way to look after you. I will be returning in the near future. I arranged it via Facebook & spoke to Duncan, who honestly took the stress out of the whole day for me. You are a credit to this place buddy. Keep doing what you do best 👌🏽

Went here yesterday at lunchtime with a group of friends . The service was great and very efficient, and the food was excellent, I was on a table of six and we had several different options , we were all pleased with every course, absolutely no complaints. My favourite lamb shank was on the menu and it was so tender and tasty. Will definitely be back, many thanks.

We tried the Sunday lunch I asked for pate to start, none left so fried Brie which was ok quite tasty could have been hotter Wife chose prawn cocktail which was pretty much prawns chucked on plate with rose Marie sauce in a separate dish and some iceberg lettuce , a little underwhelming. Main course only one beef left so she had lamb I must say that both meats were excellent quality and bountiful, roasted potatoes Ok ish not crispy enough and no parsnips 🙁 There was broccoli and green beans and a Yorkshire pud which were all good, gravy watery thin which I read in a previous review so I am puzzled why this has not been addressed Wine was good and not overpriced as at so many other venues. The service was very good and the ambiance good with great chilled music, perfect for a Sunday lunch All in all a mixed bag , will try an evening menu in the future to see if they have upped their game .

Went on Halloween and had the set menu. The food was very good. The portion size for me was a little on the small side. It was reasonable priced though and good quality. The only thing I did find strange was they play a film and I found it very distracting when trying to talk, this would probably put me off returning as I felt I was having a meal sat in front of the tv.

Being part of the Lytham Brewery Group, I would have expected some of their fine real ales to be available. But no! Not everyone drinks lager & cider! The food was mediocre. The beef was paper thin & fatty. The lamb Henry, I am sure was out of a plastic bag & microwaved!. The veg luke warm. The gravy so thin, tasted just like an Oxo cube. Not at all what you would call fine dining. Very disappointed! The service was good & friendly - best part of the visit actually. Would we come again? Not a chance! Mutton dressed up as lamb.

Best on the Fylde Coast. Possibly best in Lancashire. Amazing fish, chips, and mushy peas. We'll worth a visit for a proper chippy tea.

probably the worse fish and chips ive ever had the chips where not cooked properly and the assistant drowned the chips with vinegar even the curry sause couldnt drown it out...shocking and over price for the standard of food you get ..they need to get their act together.

We have eaten at Whelan’s for many years and always tell friends and family to try it, as we have never had a bad meal there yet. Today as we were queuing for our fish and chips, a lady came in and said she found a large black hair in her rock hard chips that even her hungry kids had refused to eat them. I thought you always get one that wants to complain, but when ours came we took them outside as we always do . The chips were well under done and rock hard, and the fish was well under done and anaemic with no batter on at all. I went back and told them that the standards have dropped dramatically. and he offered to make me some more. It put us off and probably won’t go back.
