The Ocean Cafe, Bar and Restaurant in Pembrokeshire

My wife and l together with my son and daughter in law ate here and l would have no reservations about recommending the place. The food was excellent and plentiful and the staff welcoming and cheerful. Alright the bar may have been a little noisy but what do you expect where alcohol is served and l may add all at a reasonable price. If ever l pass this way again l will make a point of calling again.

Too many televisions (3) pumping out loud stuff. Plus,unbelievably, more stuff coming from other speakers. Ridiculous

Don’t be put off by the rundown exterior. We had an excellent lunch, best creamy parsnip soup and freshly made bread sandwich with tasty side salad. Being coffee snobs we found the lattes too hot, but good flavour. Friendly staff and quick service, even on a busy Saturday!

The Ocean bar is a cafe bar restaurant serving the same food throughout. The staff are excellent. I asked the barman for something to dry the outside seat from rainwater and he came out and did it for me. The food is generally of good quality. However we had a gourmet burger with trimmings. The trimings and chips were excellent, but the beef burger itself was tasteless. My wife said the same thing about her burger. Maybe it was a bad batch. I thought it was my tase buds but when I ordered a pudding it was stunnning.

Absolutely lost for words, for this place, after driving about for while we chanced upon this place, and ordered a takeaway, ordering fish and chips, scampi and chips, and the strangest southern fried chicken and chips we have ever seen. (take away fish and chips, 13.95) The cod and chips was the blandest and tasteless i have ever had, the scampi being likewise, worse of all though the southern fried chicken (4 of the smallest pieces ever) obviously frozen and the size of small chicken wings, at £9.50 very very poor value. Terrible value for money overall!

This is a lovely place right on the front of Broad Haven. The outside looks more like a cafe, but inside the bar/restaurant area feels much more like a well-run family pub. We had called for drinks with a plan to play the Thursday night quiz. The place was packed and the staff could not have done more to try to accommodate us. We had a dog, a grandma with a dicky hip and two children and they were super friendly and helpful, making sure we got a table and felt welcomed. The owner/landlord made the quiz fun and friendly. We didn't have food, but it looked good and the menu offered a good range of the expected pub grub, including cawl. We did try the ice cream served by helpful staff - very good. Also worth noting that a pint is £4.70! Considerably cheaper than other places. We didn't win the quiz, but we had a fantastic evening and if it hadn't been the end of our holiday, we would definitely have been back.

Great sized portions. We had fish and chips and a toasted baguette. Chips are some of the nicest I’ve ever had. Friendly staff in the restaurant.

Our third time to the area, which we love may we add ,.. set up camp and headed down to Broad haven .. we thought we’d just get some fish and chips … very disappointed to say the least.. £32 later.. fish was ok but chips were Castell Howells par-fried £4 a bag excuse.. really guys .. by the sea and charging what you do . At least peel some spuds and chip them properly.. certainly won’t be revisiting and don’t recommend.. don’t mind paying for anything but this is taking the mick.. hate leaving non positive reviews but we weren’t impressed..

Staff very helpful and friendly. We stopped of for an Ice Cream Sundae to end a good days walking in the local area and we really enjoyed the House sundae on offer (choice of 3 flavours of ice cream, flake and sauce). Very nice ice creams and a good range of ice cream flavours to choose from. Recommended place to consider if you are in the area.

One of the best ice cream sundaes I have had for a long time. 6, yes 6, scoops of ice cream, 3 different flavours with a flake and sauce. No cream thank goodness. Was very busy with just 2 staff but both were friendly and courteous. Will certainly be back when in the area to try the food.

We arrived without a reservation but they squeezed us in and so glad they did! All the staff were very friendly, three separate people came over to check on us or say hello during the course of the meal. Portions were generous and the food tasty. Well worth it.

Me and my partner decided to come here for breakfast and we normally come for lunch, service was excellent yet again and the breakfast was wonderful, it’s nice to have a cup of tea and they bring a tea pot to the table, little things 😁 would definitely be back for breakfast

The wife and I left the kids at home (they can fend for themselves now they’re 1 and 3!) and came on down to Ocean Beach (not Ibiza) for a romantic bite to eat. I had the lobster which was just perfect! Served by a dashing waiter (had to keep an eye on the Mrs). The old ball and chain had the unfolded calzone Stromboli, which she raved about. Overall, great experience and will be coming back for more!

This review relates to three visits: (1) tea and cake; (2) lunch; (3) evening meal. A friendly welcome matters to me and it could not have been friendlier. Traditional cawl (soup/stew) made an excellent lunch (it comes with bread and cheese) and the evening fish platter was a special treat. We and our dogs were happy in the front cafe area but there is also a bar and restaurant. Well done Rachel, Holly, Martha and Halwyn!

Delicious Sunday Roast today at Ocean Cafe at Broad Haven Both myself and hubby had the roast beef dinner which was so tasty with that came cauliflower cheese,carrots,peas,swede,parsnips,roast potatoes,mash potato,stuffing ball,pigs in blankets,yorkshire pudding and gravy amazing value for money

We’ve visited here several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed! We were greeted by the lovely Kim and Rachel who provided fantastic service to us, went above and beyond and made myself and 2 young people with disabilities feel very welcome and comfortable, so thank you very much! They’re absolute gems! We ordered a ham salad sandwich, which came with salad, tortillas and coleslaw, childs nuggets & chips and cod bites. Very tasty food and portions are very generous! Lots of variety on the menu too. We will definitely be back soon!

We came in for a cup of tea and ice-cream for the children. Firstly I was not met with a hello or a smile, but a blank grumpy face. I asked for a baby ice cream for my 2 year old son. Which she did without a word to us. And a normal size ice crack for my 5 year old. When coming to pay I was charged for 2 normal sized ones. I questioned this as his Dad had brought a baby ice cream for our 2 year old son the day before for a pound. And also whilst here in the summer holidays we were able to buy them. She said we don’t do them, I asked why she didn’t say this when we ordered it. She was very argumentative and adamant they didn’t do it. She then shoved the card reader in front of me with a reduced price. I proceeded to say thank you to her, again was given no response but a blank angry face. Fair to say we will not be coming here for New Year’s Eve as planned or anytime. Which is a shame as we own a flat above their cafe.

We visited Ocean Cafe and Bar on a Wednesday evening and were greeted by a lovely lady who couldn't have been more helpful. The menu was varied. I looked at their website but was only shown the breakfast menu, I mentioned to the waitress and she wasn't aware but would try to make sure it was corrected. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and drink. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Going back for breakfast later in the week.

Fantastic meal at The Ocean this evening. Ordered the Mediterranean chicken off the specials menu and it was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had dining out (and I eat out a lot 🤣) Absolutely gorgeous meal - that should be put on to your main menu 👏👏👏

The location is convenient, the food is average, the service is unpleasant. The waitress did. Or bother to show us a table, offer us a menu and was generally unfriendly. The food was ok, although the crab sandwich was disappointing.

We regularly visit here and can always rely on a nice hot meal that we always enjoy. The staff have also come to recognise us now too and it’s lovely to have a catch up with them! My only comment and this is no fault of the restaurant is the amount of unfriendly dogs we come across. We have a dog that is very well behaved, however every time we visit we have had another dog aggressively go towards ours. Our visit this time we have had 3 different dogs lunge towards ours, who really shouldn’t be inside if they behave like this. Although this is the owners responsibility, somehow a reminder to owners wouldn’t go amiss before one dog ruins it for the rest. Thank you all, see you soon!

This is a very friendly, welcoming establishment and the food was well presented, generous portions and delicious. Highly recommend.

Welcomed warmly as usual by Mostyn and the team. Fantastic meal in the restaurant with old friends. Amazing service from Rachel and the boys. Incredible view from the Captains table. Food was so tasty and the ice cream presented in the teacups was great. We will be back soon.

Ate at the Ocean last night and once again, my expectations were exceeded. They were busy, with 2 large groups but the service was still excellent and the food, big portions of straightforward fare, was still tasty and well presented as always.

We phoned at 630pm to book a table 730pm, and was asked to tell them what we wanted to order over the phone, which seemed a little odd. Arrived on time, ordered drinks and awaited our food. At 815pm we went up to ask how much longer and was told they forgot to do our food, but they would start cooking it soon. At 840pm I complained again and a little later got our food. No one seemed bothered we were waiting so long. Absolutely terrible service, and to top it off, when the food arrived it was mediocre at best. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone. The night before we had eaten out at the St Brides Inn in little Haven and got amazing service and food for a similar price. Such contrasting experiences.

Thank you again, we're local and come at all times of the year. Great for our disabled daughter in her ĺarge wheelchair. Complete order arrived inside 10 mins on a busy Saturday lunchtime, big portions as well. All staff are friendly and helpful.
