I love this cozy venue with creative drinks and a small stage. I was pleased to get same-day reservations. The band was so close it felt like they were playing just for us, yet it wasn't too loud. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in London.

This was the best bar experience I've ever enjoyed! We tried 10 of their cocktails, and every single one was so awesome that it made us exclaim, "WOW!" Such special recipes, all expertly crafted and presented, delivered with stellar (and very knowledgeable) service. We were able to enjoy great live music (with an excellently balanced sound system and not overwhelmingly loud) by the Tim Penn Duo. Nightjar Shoreditch is absolutely worth it. It's very clear that everyone at Nightjar is passionate about what they do. If I lived here, I'd be a regular, and I can't wait to come again and try more cocktails.

The cocktails were some of the best cocktails I've ever tasted! I had the samurai cocktail and the yokohama. The servers/ staff were excellent. They took time to explain the cocktails, it was a really quick and friendly service in a wonderful setting, the cocktails all had a flair about them as well in their presentation ! Highly recommend if you're a lover of speak easy vibes and cocktails. Cotty :)

One of my go-to authentic speakeasy bars in London. The atmosphere and the interior truly driver you a proper prohibition experience. To top it off the live jazz music every night makes the experience unforgettable and the carefully crafted cocktails and their presentations make sure you’ll never get bored in this place. The staff is always extremely helpful and kind, and does everything to make your stay as good as possible. A must try cocktail bar!

An absolute perfection of a speakeasy. Dimmed lights ambience coupled up with live jazz, extraordinary cocktails and very attentive staff created a very unique experience. All cocktails we tried were great, so make sure you try various different ones. Will definitely want to come back for more!

La fortuna ha voluto che avessimo questo locale proprio di fronte al nostro hotel. Il locale ha un ambiente tipico British e la musica dal vivo rende il tutto ancora più suggestivo. Abbiamo preso 2 cocktail a testa e un piatto di salumi e formaggi misti. Non é sicuramente un locale economico, ma se siete a Londra una sera é d'obbligo. Consigliatissimo.

Great jazz venue! A bit loud but it’s great for our group to enjoy some cocktails and music. We went on a Friday and the place was packed, our group had such an amazing time. For cocktails, Cantarito was stunning! Never had anything like it, it’s like a twist of margarita . Definitely will come back

Great night last Friday. Excellent band (The Untouchables), great cocktails and atmosphere. Open till the early hours… last orders I think 2.30am! Best cocktail by far was London Mule though the others were also world class…

A wonderful cocktail bar with some great older style creations. All I had were superb and also very cleverly mixed. I was impressed. I accidentally went for a rather expensive £27 cocktail which while being nice was a tad expensive and tbh I preferred the more standard ones. Atmosphere great and service was OK.

Very nice cocktails but we could not hear the live music due to loud and obnoxious groups of customers that were screaming. We left with ringing ears.

Visited here on Tuesday evening, I hate to leave a bad review as the cocktails were very good. However, we were charged £6pp for the live music, we had 2 cocktails between £14-16 each and then a 12.5% service charge on top. I have no issue paying a service charge, but this as well as an extra £12 on top of the bill seemed excessive. The music was good, but I do feel that Nightjar should be paying the bands they hire themselves, and not expect the customer to do this. After all, one of the usp's to get people through the door is the live music. Although the cocktails are good, some are on the slightly more expensive side compared to other (just as good) cocktail bars in London.

Will have to say the cocktails and vibe are very good. What is not great is the blatant profiteering by this venue. £6 per person as a midweek charge plus a service charge on top. Either incorporate the charges or charge one or the other - feels like a scam!

It was exactly as advertised and the cocktails were very good. Just not my style of bar unfortunately. We left before the live music started as we had over estimated our abilities for consecutive late nights.

Nice cocktails, good service but very expensive. My partner and I had x2 cocktails each - at around £12-£13 each, reasonable prices. There was a service charge (also very normal in London) and happy to pay it as the service was good, however alongside the service charge there was x2 late night cover charges, which is what irritated me. Less than £50 for x4 cocktails then an additional £25 in various charges. I have no issues with paying an expensive bill, but the principle of additional charges valuing 50% of the bill for 'goods received' is nothing short of a joke.

Superb speakeasy. We sat at the bar, met Giuseppe the talented, sure-handed, bartender and had some of the best drinks we’ve ever had in London. His love for the industry (and nightjar itself) isn’t something you see everyday and he was a pleasure to chat to with him and witness him at work. 10/10 will return to sit at the bar you probably should too.

Although I have a red food colouring allergy, the waitress couldn’t find me anything on their menu I could drink, however the main cocktail ‘chef’ went out of his way to come and speak to us and advise other options, and this was very helpful

Classy little hidden bar in Shoreditch. The cocktails are of a great range, from pre-prohibition recipes up to modern style ones. The band playing were very talented, playing a mixture of covers and originals that set the mood nicely. Overall a great speakeasy-esqe experience!

A superb experience! During a stay in London, I came during the week with my friend, seated at the bar. First bar in London and I think I can say that it is the best cocktail bar I have been to in my life ! The quality of welcome is perfect, the bartender we had was very careful to advise us on the cocktails, explain to us how they work, the history of their glassware... all with great attention and professionalism ! As for the cocktails, just perfect : super balanced, well presented, with a little story, original flavors... In short, a complete fan of this establishment and I would come back there during my next stay in London!

Simply the greatest bar I have ever been to. [Edit. Quality has seriously dropped in the last 10 years, but still a fun night out.]

In a nutshell, this will undoubtedly become a favourite: so does it go with such places that so masterfully combine providing a refined experience and remaining within reach. Not only does Nightjar offer very good cocktails at what I found to be a reasonable price, it does so in a wonderful atmosphere - elegant and intimate yet relatively casual and relaxed. I would strongly recommend booking - we were very lucky and able to walk in, but I understand this was the exception and not the rule.

Hard to get a table without a reservation but waited around outside and the bouncer was kind enough to let us in that was already past mid night. Very hidden gem in the basement. The cocktails was very creative and crafty. Would go back again

I have been to the Nightjar 5 times now, and I have to say on this occasion I felt like it wasn't as special as the others, the water was no longer fruit infused, the waitresses wernt as informative on the drinks, leaving us to discover what the edible items were. The famous Zombie was delicious, yet has somewhat shrunk in size since the last time I went (pre-covid) (see size difference in photo) The band were brilliant, and was definitely worth paying the £10 surcharge for.

Great service, nice ambiance and great cocktails. The staff will also keep you topped up with water which is amazing when you’re drinking fairly strong drinks.

Awesome bar! We got 3 or 4 cocktails per person per night. They were delicious. Bartender was really nice and helpful, she guide us through the menu and we just told her what we like, and she made a recommendation for us. Loved the experience and the taste. Each cocktails was pretty different. Some of them had a fancy serving. Enjoyed the experience and definitely recommend the place!

They have an extensive cocktail selection. Some of them are hit and miss, in an attempt to be too creative. They also serve the classical cocktails and those are good. The live music here is highly recommended.

Amazing music and unique cocktails

Lovely drinks 🍸 😋 all the drinks were very tasty and have their own styles. ALSO very well hidden on the alley with a handsome security guy awaited (made me felt like I was in John Wick's movie a little bit 🤭) The drinks are on the expensive sides but sooo wellll crafted, you won't taste the alcohol at all...until when I got home and I stayed up half of the night 🤣🤣 But this is definitely a great date place and opens until 1am!
