Enjoyed a lovely lunch in the garden, couldn’t fault food or service. Great playground, very dog friendly.

Excellent food but poor service. When we arrived a couple of members of staff ignored us, no " Hi there, lovely to meet you, someone will be there in a moment." Then after being served our meal we waited 45 minutes for someone to clear our plates and order dessert. Several members of staff walked past and ignored us. Then when dessert finally arrived we told the waitress we had the wrong dessert but she left it on our table and walked away, thankfully another member of staff took both away to sort them but was another half an hour before we then got our actual desserts. Thankfully the waiter understood and removed the price of our desserts. A

My Wife and l have visited this Pub/Restaurant for over 40 years during holidays in Dorset during which time, it has had its ups and downs. We first met Kamil, the current owner when he took it over about 5 years ago. It was obvious from the outset that providing top quality, friendly Customer Service and Top class food were his priorities. He genuinely cares about his diners and drinkers, always providing a warm welcome. The improvements that he has made are all positive and, he holds his staff to a high standard. The menu is varied and, the food is of a very high quality, whilst being reasonably priced. Nobody leaves The New Queen hungry. There is a good assortment of beers and spirits that can be enjoyed in the garden when weather permits. The New Queen will be our first stop when we next return to Dorset/Hampshire and, l can’t recommend it too highly.

Just returned from a fabulous lunch at the New Queen Inn. Acknowledged on arrival seated promptly. Dog welcomed with biscuits. Extensive menu. Chose French onion soup followed haddock and sea bass. Food excellently prepared cooked and served. Overall excellent value. Will definitely return.

Glorious food humongous portions wonderful atmosphere

Had a really lovely Mother's Day lunch at The Queen. We were served very quickly and politely, the food was excellent (both quality and quantity). The atmosphere was good, the interior has a nice traditional style and looks clean and tidy. Outside, there's plenty of parking along with a small garden with lots of tables looking out over the reeds towards the river. I would definitely recommend it and we will be returning.

I can’t think of many places I’d rather go for a roast on the rare occasion I don’t have to cook for all of the family. Luckily for me, teenage kids and parents were all wanting to go and see friends or were out for the day so my lovely husband took me to The New Queen. Live music, cosy table, great atmosphere and a beautiful cut of lamb and beef with more than ‘all the trimmings’. Service impeccable as always. Thanks guys.

Turned up on the off chance there may be a spare table for 2 on a Sunday and we’re accommodated with minimal wait time. We had the lamb and beef and both were divine. Love this place and the staff and atmosphere.

Walked in and asked for a table for 2, I was told there were no tables available, I then asked if we could have a light lunch in the bar area, I was then told not really service is taking about an hour. We didn't wait. Very unfriendly greeting, we will not be going back.

Great food, with really friendly but attentive service. Pub was quiet - it was midweek - but had an inviting and relaxed atmosphere.

Went for our anniversary meal and had the steak, cooked perfectly and the sides were an amazing accompaniment; the onion rings and phenomenal. Got served by Kieran who was an excellent host and went out of the way for us during our visit. Lovely man! Would 100% recommend and also recommend the roast on a Sunday which we have had before. Been visiting for 3 years and will continue to come back time and time again!

The food was great quality and portion sizes, price is about right for these days, the atmosphere felt quite relaxed and the service was speedy, chatty and friendly staff. We would definitely go again. One thing the New Queen Inn know how to do well is crisp! Crispy chips, crispy onion rings, crispy batter fish, delicious! My only criticism is that the menu is a little difficult to read, there needs to be some gaps or bullet points between the different dishes and it doesn't include symbols such as Vg/VE/GF etc. this could be a small adjustment that could make the customers experience just that little bit better. Overall great experience and would recommend.

Visited on Friday evening with my wife. This is quite a large pub but retains a cosy atmosphere due to the higgledy piggledy layout. Wasn't too busy. The staff were very attentive and the service was very good. I had chicken supreme and my wife had the venison. Both were very tasty with a rich sauce. Just what I would expect from a gastropub. The portion sizes are quite large so we shared a sticky toffee pudding for desert. This wasn't quite up to the standard of the mains but was still very nice. This was a substitute for the ginger cake. There is a good range of dishes on the menu. Somewhere I would be happy to visit again.

This was my first visit to The New Queen. The atmosphere was relaxed, food superb and staff very friendly and professional. I shall certainly be returning.

The tables are somewhat a bit too close and the prawn curry wasn’t the best as it was a bit bland

We visited for lunch. Whilst the food and service was good, our visit was ruined by the dirty coffee cup. I’d already drunk from the cup before realising it still had the previous users lipstick smeared on the side where I was drinking. Although the coffee was refunded, it was a very unpleasant experience and I can’t see us visiting again.

Five of us pre-booked meals for a relaxed Saturday afternoon lunch in early December, three being our guests from the West Mids staying with us for the weekend to celebrate Christmas together. Four of us pre-ordered off the main Christmas menu and one off the Vegan menu. The idea was to have time before our starters for a drink, and then time between courses so we could pace ourselves. The New Queen was a GREAT choice for the occassion! Kieran (I think that's his name, apologies if I have that wrong) was EXTREMELY attentive and you coud see he very genuinely wanted us to enjoy our afternoon. His balance between utmost professionalism and informal friendliness is not an easy, but he achieved this admirably. Food was great! Turkey was succulent (it certainly isn't always in all establishments!), vegetables properly cooked - still crispy and not watery (not easy when cooking for so many in the restaurant that day) and gravy was delish! Don't think it was really necessary to wash my plate it was so clean at the end (sure they did though!) By the way, ALL serving staff were VERY good. Service throughout was attentive without being overly-so. The one glitch was our puddings arriving almost as soon as the main course had been finished. Frankly, everything had been so good it was difficult to be at all upset by this. What impressed us all though was Kieran (as I say, hope that's the correct name!) noticed this happen and it was clear to us that he was really unhappy about it - he clearly had a very genuine desire to make things perfect for us. As well as apologising, he offered us complimentary coffees by way of a 'sorry'. Being fair, it was a very busy afternoon (so lots of proverbial balls to juggle by both front and kitchen staff), it wasn't a massive issue, and the way it was managed was admirable. This issue of 'Staff Attitude' I always argue is key - rather intangible, but all else can be built on this solid foundation when it's right. The New Queen has achieved this (I'm saying this from other experiences here too). Beer is very tasty and well kept too :-) A BIG 'Thumbs Up' from all of us - Thank you for a BRILL start to our Christmas festivities!

Mustard on cauliflower cheese was abit much and not enough cheese, besides that was brilliant, carrots were also lovely, service was very fast and friendly :)

VERY FRIENDLY PUB . FOOD WAS VERY NICE AND JUST A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE.

Just be aware they automatically add an additional 10% to your food/drinks bill for service regardless of party size. Frustrating if you are a party of 2 on a week day. From my experience the service is no different from anywhere else. I think tips should not be assumed, it should remain at the customers discretion.

Had the perfect Sunday lunch, the food was incredible! Unfortunately we did keep getting forgotten about by some of the waiting staff or avoided and I think it was because we were a large table. But thankfully Kieran turned the whole experience around for us.

I love this pub, the community nearly lost it a couple of years ago but it has come back better and stronger than before. The food is delicious and ranges from bar snacks, burgers, traditional meals, curry etc, there is something for everyone. The staff are warm and friendly and very accommodating. I would advise booking as it gets very busy. Only downside is that yon need to drive to get there but on the plus side there is plenty of car parking available.

Poor service, took our order then didn't bother sending it to the kitchen. One hour twenty for food to arrive and then one order incorrect. Were given the meal free but that's not the point as we've always previously thought The New Queen was excellent before

We visited on our trip to Bournemouth and throughly enjoyed our meal. The menu had a great variety and the food was lovely, portion size was very large and the service was great!

Sunday lunch came out cold sent back food was lovely once hot. It appeared they were short staffed and none of them appeared very friendly or happy. Drinks were very expensive and service slow and poor. It was a return visit as enjoyed previously but won’t be hurrying back.

Lovely food but service was a bit lack. Not just for our table. Definitely happy people work here, unfortunately for a hospitality people need to work with a smile and not be grumpy. Some of the staff was very accommodating (a young woman with enthusiasm). The others have nothing to show. The food was lovely, most of it seems fresh and probably the best part of the experience of eating out. We booked online and got put into the pub side not the restaurant side for my birthday. A bit unhappy with that.

Food was average at best, not worth the money. They also must have condused the sugar with the salt in the kitchen, the gravy tasted sweet and weird. They automatically charge 10% service unless you asked for it to be removed. Not recommended.

Lamb burger was tiny. The patty itself is very small, unwilling and not worth the expensive price!! However staff were lovely and garden is great (especially with the inbound aircraft coming into Bournemouth Airport)

Came for a family birthday meal on Monday as a table of 17! We were served by kieran who was super attentive and super lovely the whole time. The food was soo good also, I had the bbq chicken pizza. We’ve come here a few times now for family meals and have always left happy. Thankyou kieran for being so genuine and smiley, we had a great time. Be back soon :))

We had an excellent family meal for 7 on a Sunday afternoon, made even better by our excellent server Kieran who couldn’t have done enough for us. The food was really tasty, the live music was a lovely touch and the kids playground is fab. Will be back. Give Kieran a raise!

Four of us went to The New Queen Inn for Sunday lunch today. The food and service was exceptional. Kiran was a stand out from a service POV. He was attentive and engaging. We will definitely return.

Really good first impressions, the place looks nice and the live band is a nice touch. Unfortunately it is let down by staff that really don’t care about the business... Brought food without asking if we wanted sauces, couldn’t remember orders and didn’t write it down, brought deserts without utensils. In fact, we didn’t get any service unless we flagged them down, they overcharged us on the bill and we waited so long to pay we had to go up to the bar as a party of 8 to pay instead. Plus you pay a set service charge for the privilege. Real shame as first impressions and food are really good 😔

We are local to ringwood and this is the only place where we can take our 6yr old daughter who is ceoliac and b3 satified that they know what they are doing, they offer gluten free options and chips that are safely cooked in a dedicated fryer, she has the burger which comes in a really good gluten free bun which is very rare! All the staff are good but the front of house manager(I don't know his actual job tital apologies) is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, he is good with kids and enthusiastic, and most importantly for us very keen to help with allergies. It's should be the case with all managers but sadly it isn't often the case so good for him. Thanks to the chef and kitchen crew too for knowing hownto deal with allergies. Great beer garden with nature reserve views and a sunset. Thank you

Found this pub by chance and what a nice pub it is too. Bar snacks were delicious, but the Sunday roast looked good as well.

As soon as we went in we could smell an awful smell of unwashed carpets or floors!!! When the manager isn't there, the staff talk to each other, totally ignoring customers, and even when they do manage to serve you, they still talk about their night out!!! How rude!!! We ve been many times, but won't go back, as they can't even get a pizza right!!!
