Excellent food at a great prices. Lovely helpful friendly staff service was a little slow but that may have been because of a large birthday party. Lovely clean restaurant in an old pub. Well done to all the staff.

Food was disappointing, only had burger and chips nothing too special however the chips were hard and the burger was tasteless. Wouldn't have it again..

Went a few weeks ago. A very young man and women behind bar were not very friendly or happy. Waited ages for our drinks. Had to ask in the end. Then they got it wrong. It wasn't busy at all. I had worse Lasagne ever. Just Tomatoes with a little meat. Nice chips. I did tell them when they collected dishes. Didnt comment. Won't go there again.

Hi everyone. Three of us met for Sunday Lunch today. The Penny Farthing's not a pub any of us had been to before but we took a punt and we weren't disappointed. Lunch was absolutely fantastic as was the service and the comfortable atmosphere. Lunch was served and it had a proper "Wow" factor. The presentation was lovely and we were very pleasantly surprised. The attention to detail was great from all concerned and the price was very fair. Highly recommended and thanks to all :-)

The service can be a bit hit and miss it all depends on who's working as some people can be bothered more than others I find For instances the last twice I been here I asked someone (boy) to clean our table we didn't see him again and then later on when I went to the bar to order drinks he was avoiding not serving me which I found strange and the time before that I asked for sauce from a waiter and didn't receive it. I try not to let things like this put me off coming here as me and my boyfriend love it here. The food is always good and the strawberry daiquiri are the best. I love the big/spacious beer garden in the summer too. It can be expensive but it all depends on what you order. It is nice as a treat though.

Food was really good, server was polite and on the ball.

We visited here for a meal and the dining room was completely taken over by a large group of drunken girls who were so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves talking across the table. Another table of about 12 people were also having their own incredibly loud party nearby which made the whole experience unbearable. It felt very rough and unwelcoming. We'd never go there again.

Lovely meal at the penny farthing tonight. I had the chicken tikka hanging kebab with coconut rice and garlic sauce which was 10/10. Staff were all very friendly and service was brilliant

Lovely little local Pub/restaurant. Food quality has been 10/10 every single visit! Very welcoming staff warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

Waited 45mins for a round of 8 soft drinks, only 2 arrived and we had to wait another 15mins after asking about the rest, food took about an hour and half to arrive, it was either not heated properly or left to go cold. Did mention to a member of the serving staff and no interest or action was taken. In all £150 was spent on what was supposed to be a lovely family dinner and in in all substandard service and food. Will not be coming again, sadly was very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Service very slow, waited 1 hour 10 minutes for food, when arrived it was tepid. Had a sharing starter….was provided with 1 knife and fork , 1 napkin and 1dip, how is this sharing ?? Young man seems to do most of the work while young girls just do not a lot !! Won’t be going back there !!

Expensive for what you got. Waited nearly an hour for main meal.

Not recommended the Porkys franchise pop up cafe.... examples.. waited over an hour for food to be delivered. VERY VERY quiet only few other tables occupied. Biscoff French toast burned and drowned in cream (not mentioned on menu). Another family members toast was served char grilled not toasted. My cooked veggie breakfast served without veggie bacon, beans had to returned as they had been "forgotten" to be cooked. Grilled pineapple slice had been pre cooked and was served chilled on top of sloppy mushrooms. Waited after meal to complain, but no one came out to check on us. Had a lovley Sunday lunch here food was great plenty of it and nice and hot service was quick.. Staff pleasant but lacked a smile.Maybe having a off day who knows . The place was very busy. They play music which we found to loud for us as was sat under the speaker. Would we come back not sure but if we did we would make sure we are not sat under the speaker. Or will ask to turn it down. Please don't let that put you off as food is fabulous and lush afters.

I really love this place, since my last stay i’ve been multiple times and Francis has still been enjoying the wonderful cuisine, I felt it was only appropriate to give another great review, This place is a regular for me and my son now, even my wife has popped in with us a few times.

Waitressing staff were extremely rude. Staff brought out 2 sauces when we ordered 4. When informed the waitress (the owners daughter) said “I’ve only got one pair of hands”. They were rude all night and acted as though they could not be bothered to do the job that they get paid for. I understand hospitality can be stressful but this is a common occurrence and I know many who’ve had similar experiences.

Everything was perfect food price service staff could not recommend this place highly enough a credit to themselves every person involved thank you so much

Excellent restaurant with great food and friendly service. Having lived in the area for a couple of years this is the place of choice when looking to eat out. It can get very busy so booking advised. Excellent menu choice and well priced. Have never had a bad experience here.

Had a lovely mid week meal. Food was delicious especially the homemade chips! Good portions and good value. Service spot on. No doubt will be back.

Lovely meal! I had the katso vegetarian curry. However, I was disappointed not to have chips, as the menu claimed currys came with a choice of rice or chips, or mango chutney and poppadom. I didn't get a mango chutney with poppadom either . Just curry and rice. I am a veggie, so choices are limited anyway. Menu needs to be reworded. Why some curries come with a choice of rice and chips etc. But others don't is bizarre, as the prices are similar.

We had a meal there today it was nice but not value for money. My husband had the hanging kebab which is quite expensive and not really worth the price they ask . I had the raspberry and supposedly white chocolate sundae for dessert but it was just raspberry ripple ice cream squirty cream and raspberry sauce not a real raspberry to be seen. I asked why it didn't have any raspberries in it and was told that not everyone likes raspberry so they don't put any into the dessert?? Why would anyone order it if they don't like raspberries is the question. The service was good and the meals were served quite quickly after ordering so not all bad. Not in a rush to return though.

Disappointed by certain meals being unavailable then the bill came and was wrong redone another twice before correct part of a meal not brought to table then when meal finished at 9 made to feel like we needed to leave but because it's a pub we thought we could stay and have a drink till our bus came

A local favourite for food, this was our 3rd visit and everyone was impressed with their food, me and the wife had a seafood sharing platter and it was incredible, service is always brilliant, if I could improve anything it would be the decor and the range of beers, it would be nice to see some local craft beers instead of the generics, we will definitely be returning though because the food is always spot on.

First time to go to the penny farthing been to many other places for food but I can honestly say the meal we had today which was house chicken curry plus desert apple & blackberry crumble was absolutely outstanding I can not wait to go back again compliments to the chef also the young man and young lady was very professional and very polite thanks again Mr & Mrs Leonard

It’s nice enough meal nothing wrong just a bit bland nothing exciting. Great service fast and helpful. Was very loud in there that’s nothing to do with the establishment as it was busy and lay out was a bit dated.

Lovely food, brought out all at same time, for 5 people. Two drinks forgotten about but they soon rectified it. On the whole a really nicely laid out pub/restaurant and a happy time had by the 5 of us !

Can't wait to go back again already!!! It was a busy Saturday night and we hadn't made a reservation but they were happy to make space for us. We got two sharing platters and ohhhhhhh my, the calamari is hands down the best I've ever eaten in the UK. Staff were lush and happy to help. Atmosphere is really old school and comforting but somehow feels modern. Really relaxing space.

Just awful from start to finish. Long wait for out of the packet frozen starters. Mains over cooked and bland. Staff all seemed to wonder around not really knowing what to do just a complete shambles of a night out

Food delicious but very disappointed in the service. We had pre-ordered in advance of a very special occasion only to be told whilst waiting for starters to be served ( not when we arrived) that much wasn't available. What's the point of pre-ordering. I had ordered fish cakes to start and had to order an alternative, some mains weren't available and when time to order desserts almost half were not available. The drinks took a very long time to order at the bar. There were plenty of staff , even though there was a couple of other big tables to accommodate. Would have appreciated a simple apology and thanks for waiting to be served and wewould have completely understood. Whilst waiting for a waitress to return to take our order for desserts, we had to ask for their attention because they were chatting behind the bar. Food is stunning , when it's available. Just need to improve planning and service to your customers.

Literally just been for Sunday lunch. Let’s start with the positive, food was lovely from starters to mains, to dessert. Not so good, not much meat which we can live with because the food overall was lovely. However, the service was shocking. Not very attentive, very slow service and food was missing from our order. We pre ordered one dessert as it is my dad’s favourite and they were running out of a lot of options, when it came for the desserts to come out, we all had ours except my dad. We asked if they had forgotten and the young waiter replied casually yes we have??. No one came over to apologise or explain. When they did bring it the young girl did say sorry about the wait but that was it. Unfortunately this made the experience one that we won’t be returning for again. I have given it a 4 star simply because of the food and hopefully staff can improve and not leave food on the floor etc

First Sunday lunch here! It was faultless! The service was efficient and the presentation and choice was excellent. An amazing choice of desserts too! An ice cold bottle of Pino Grigio blush washed it all down perfectly! Very good value for money. Highly recommend.

Wonderful, wonderful lunch. I wish all the places we visit for Saturday lunch could visit here and see how it's done. Nothing complicated just well executed and presented. Bravo!

Food and service is outstanding

Really delightful meal at the new penny farthing today, such friendly staff and the children’s menu was perfect for my picky son Francis, he loved the fish fingers and beans, a really enjoyable stay, the blonde woman was really polite and was really friendly to my little boy, me and Francis shall be back, Yippee!!

Went lunchtime and it was a great dining experience. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Bit of a smaller portion than expected for the price of the dish but it was very very nice.

What fantastic exerlant service we had for our sons Scott 30th birthday on 28 january .Staff could not do enough to accommodate us all. All staff Friendly did their very best and the food was absulutly amazing. We will definitely be returning. Thank you 😊

Sunday lunch was very nice good value. The atmosphere was more like a busy cafe. Not what I'd expect for a Sunday lunch at a pub. Nothing really wrong but still a bit off., not particularly relaxing.

Steaks were perfect. However starters were bloody hot (temperature wise).

Service very slow if you are eating. Portions are on the meagre side but food okay. Not brilliant considering you have to pre order your food anyway
