Me and my wife haven't been here for 7 years Wow my wife had steak pie I had chicken and ribs compliment to the chef what a fantastic meal definitely be back won't leave it so long this time

Really good pub with great people which were very accommodating. Looks like a good town with plenty on.

Well done Chef!! Ordered the 3 course for £23 pp...Starter fresh and made with passion...main well portioned great quality local produce it seems the beef was juice lean, the veg crisp...dessert homemade fudge cake with cream..you could tell this came from the heart...to say other Sunday roast in the valley can be over priced for the quality, New Inn was great food for a great price... Friendly Staff!

Cosy atmosphere and a decent pint

We had a really great meal on a Saturday night. The pub was busy enough to create a good vibe. The food quality was excellent on everything we ate, The steak and ale pie was the best I have ever had. The portions are huge! Next time I will skip starters to try the desserts. We will be back.

Having been out for a walk I was keen for a good Sunday Roast. Popped into The New Inn about 4pm and ordered a Roast Beef dinner. The food was delicious, a great variety of fresh veg, tasty roast beef and a proper Yorkshire pudding. Excellent. Afterwards, my dog and I got comfy on one of the leather sofas by the wood burning stove. I could have happily stayed there all evening but a full tummy, comfortable seating and the warmth from the fire was making me sleepy. Friendly staff and landlord, great atmosphere, delicious food and dog friendly. Perfect.

Service - can see where other reviews are coming from. we put it down to shortage of staff, having to do bar, waitering, in kitchen, etc. Food - excellent, would recommend. We were out for a few drinks anyway, nice atmosphere, and could see they were busy. If you want quick, ask how long before ordering.

Dont get me wrong the food WOW it was amazing but we had to wait. We booked a table the day befor as told it gets busy on a sunday, we got ther in plenty of time and shown to seat and got out drink with in minutes or ordeing them. We order the food and waited and waited and waited then we asked to move table due to a large table coming in witch we moved with out any problem. 1hour later they came out and they where cold bar 1 so we asked could they be heated up please. 15 min later they were back out. They only changed use for the drinks in the end and apologies so much.

Appalling customer service. Stayed here one week ago. My booking document clearly state that I have agreed to pay £75 for a room and have opted to pay £14 for two breakfasts. When I paid at the accommodation I asked about the breakfast and was told there wasn't any. I then asked for a £14 refund. The two members of staff working at the bar were very unhelpful, clearly did not have any idea of customer service and told me their manager was away and they could not issue a refund without their permission. I followed this up 3 hrs later and the incompetent staff members still were not able to do anything. I was promised that the next morning when I left somebody would be there to issue me a refund. The next morning, a third member of staff called Kevin told me he also wasn't able to issue me with a refund and told me to email the manager. It is now one week on. I have emailed twice and had no response. Do not stay here, the customer service is dreadful and the staff are simply not up to the job. I paid for bed and breakfast but this was not delivered. Totally unacceptable. Unbelievable that the management have not been bothered to email back in over a week!!!!

Traditional, yet modern. Located in a nice area. Staff were welcoming.

Nice food but not as good as it was. Chips were overcooked and very scrappy in nature.

Waited an hour for food. Food was delicious and worth the wait. No parking, but we were allowed to take the dogs inside. All in all, it was a good experience, but not sure if I would go back.

We called in for lunch. Unfortunately the choice was limited as it was 3:50pm on bank holiday Monday. Our food took an hour to arrive, but was delicious, hot and fresh. So although it was a bit disappointing that we couldn't have our first choice, and that the wait was quite long, it was worth the wait. It was nice that we were able to bring our dog inside also.

Very quiet pub on a Thursday night. Which is what I was looking for. The food is supposed to be good although I didn't try it. Nice atmosphere with the pubs dogs being on good behaviour.

Had a lovely meal here last night as a large group. Geri and the team looked after us really well and the traditional pub food was delicious, home cooked, generous portions and great value for money! Thank you!

Nice pub, friendly, service was not great in all honesty, they forgot our order of chips and we had to chase. Good value though and recommended. Guinness was a 7/10.

Cosy, nice food, it was a glorious day so all doors open to keep cool, unfortunately just a little to cool. Fortunately alcoves/room, not sure how to describe which for me was warmer available. Very clean and dog friendly with drinking bowls for them. Toilets immaculate. Will call again

The new inn is nice place, but I don’t buy anything

Popped in here on coronation Saturday, and it was fairly busy with customers celebrating. Everyone seemed to know each other. With a well-stocked bar and good surroundings, the place had a nice vibe to it.

Overnight stay day 2 of the Pennine Way. Great food, attentive staff and the room had a bath!

I had a pleasant evening here back in February . I also really enjoyed my lunch/breakfast here too. However, I would agree with the complaints about the onion rings tasting like fish (especially as a vegetarian) but life goes on… I do remember the onions ruining the taste of my Guinness though 😂

Decent portions, great service. Onion rings and halloumi would've been non-vegetarian, but our server Jade made sure we were accommodated. Thanks Jade! Beer selection not bad; Punk IPA, Tetley Dark Mild on draft, Wainwright and Bradfield Blonde on cask at time of visiting (yesterday). Prices very reasonable. Caramelised onion & mozzarella baguette both delicious & generous. Light bites also.

Spotlessly clean, good food, pleasant landlord and landlady. Good beers and wines. If there was an award for the cleanest pub in Yorkshire then this place would surely win it.

The staff were friendly and helpful despite being busy. The accommodation is very good too. I'd definitely recommend it!

Just had lovely 7.5 mile walk around marsden , then called in here for a pint and some food . A pint of farmers blonde and a Hot beef baguette with trimmings has definitely hit the spot . I would highly recommend

Great place. Went with 10 friends, dogs and kids. They were absolutely great, we did a pre order as it was a larger group, food came out quickly and was delicious. They had good baby changing facilities and high chairs, dog water bowls and spacious areas to sit so you're not worrying about when to fit your dog when they're lying down. Drinks and food reasonably priced too. Would recommend.

Have adapted really well to Covid restrictions. Strongly recomend this true "local". Great food and beers

Very friendly bar staff. Warm welcome. Nicely trimmed up for Christmas with a homely atmosphere. Drinks are reasonable and food is good. A great asset to the lovely village of Marsden.

Foods a little boring and not a lot of choice fr veggies though I believe there may be a new menu which I've yet to try.

Nice atmosphere, good when bands are on. A singers night (like a folk /blues/acoustic club would be good and bring people in.

Daniel and his team were amazing. Booked a room to have a hen party with food and our own singer. The food was incredible and plentiful, fantastic service from the staff and everyone had such a great time, great memories . Cannot thank Daniel and staff of The New Inn enough for all their help in making our day a great success. Highly recommend Liz Small

Stopped on spec on a cross country cycle ride. Fantastic pub. Service is friendly and prompt. Really looked after us. Local ales and amazing food. Wish it was my local.

Popped in for some lunch with the wife while having a look around Marsden and had some of the loveliest food (and drink) we've had in a while, in a lovely DOG FRIENDLY (we love dogs) pub with lovely friendly staff and reasonable prices. We will definitely go back again.

We both had a fantastic meal here the husbands cheese pie was fantastic and my lamb roast dinner was spot on we hadLovely service and the pub was cosy and clean 😋 a (little criticism our pot of tea although a nice big pot the teabags used were awful weak with no flavour )

Just had one of the best sirloin steaks I've ever tasted, 10oz uncooked weight for £16.00! Everyones meals were really good, value and service also brilliant. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just very good.

What's not to love. Quality food, fantastic choice of drinks, affordable prices, lovely people!

Great meal with my fabulous partner we had the chicken burger it was lovely and quite a hearty feed. Would of had the beef dinner but they had ran out guessing due to being popular. Would highly reccomend.

This a friendly pub, where good people get together.

Stayed here for 1 night, free parking right outside on the road, had a lovely evening meal and a breakfast, Both lovely , no complaints. The room was massive with a spa bath . Definitely will be staying again. They do have karaoke evenings so check as you will hear the singing from the bar below.

Was belting would go again, was a nice day so sat outside there was 5 of us and we all got food at same time and every one enjoyed was not much on the menu but that's not always a bad thing lol.

Disappointing. Not been for a while so was really looking forward to it, as previously its always been gorgeous food. my lasagna was bland, my son said the margarita pizza had a strange tasting sauce, and my daughters fish was very greasy. Best thing about the whole lot was the chips and the drinks.

Firstly the food was delicious and the portion size was very generous, unfortunately that is where the compliments end. They was 8 of us, we all had starters and a main course and most of us wanted a pudding too however they was no service to be found after having our main course delivered. One of us approached the bar to ask for service and he was told we would be seen to in 5 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes we decided to as for the bill instead of desert as we was by now fed up of waiting. Worst yet is the lack of cleanliness! In our group of 8 was a 1 year old baby who found 4 lumps of chewing gum which of course ended up in his mouth! So in a nut shell we paid a combined price of £130 to come out worried sick of what the person who left the gum under the table could have had!

Adult food was really nice We ordered a child's margarita pizza and it tasted horid when asked what was put in the tomato base (didn't look like a tomato base) they had added carrot, courgette and other vegetables. It hadn't stated this on the menu and wen asked the staff were off about it and didn't apologise.
