It's July 2020, Covid restrictions are easing, The Moorings restaurant is open with very good adherence to Covid regulations. The Moorings setting is in the narrow section of Upper Lough Erne with spectacular views. That said its a fabulous standard of service with Charlie who was injected at birth using a gramophone needle.A new chef is in place and the standard of food, taste, warmth, portion size, variety of menu all excellent. I had scampi my wife the chicken goujons. For desert I had the lemon merangue with its extra touches which added to its delicious taste. My wife had the chocolate fudge cake which is as good as anywhere.I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area, if you're not in the area I recommend you go for a drive to it.Its uplifting to see a business bouncing back after the shocking year we've had so far.

Visited as a group of 10 people. We booked a table for early teatime. We placed our order and 3 of our party ordered the battered cod. After some delay the owner apologised for the wait but said another large order had gone in before ours. We continued to wait almost 45 minutes during which time 3 other tables came in of smaller groups of 4. They were all served their food before us. Eventually 3 of our kids meals arrived but one of them was incorrect (beefburger instead of chicken burger). At the same time we were told there was no more cod left (the tables who came in after us had been served cod) and could we reorder something else. Reluctantly we ordered alternative meals and waited along with rest of our party for another 15 or 20 minutes. The waitress was very apologetic but the owner never approached us again despite walking past the table several times. Eventually the food arrived along with the corrected kids meal but the skinny fries ordered has been swapped for garlic chips which were not wanted. By this stage we were hungry and exasperated so didn't flag the mistake. When the bill arrived we had been charged in full without even a small concession for the wait or the mix ups and unavailability of what we had originally ordered .....a small token such as soft drinks taken off the bill would have gone a long way. We left disappointed and underwhelmed. Such a shame as location beautiful but food and service did not match on this occasion....

Been a few times now on our own. On this visit we brought two friends. Staff very attentive despite another large group in. Friendly, helpful staff. Prices reasonable. Food order taken in good time and servers hot and promptly. Portion size is excellent without being too much. We were checked on several times to make sure everything was ok. Nice view and surroundings, ample car parking. Well worth making a visit to the Moorings. One of those places you'll enjoy and look forward to going back to.

Fancied Sunday lunch out for a change. A warm friendly welcome. Good menu selection for starters, main and desserts. Food was well presented and hot. We were recommended the moorings so thought we will try it ,really looking forward to it. I don't no if th chef was off or what but we were so disappointed! I ordered goujons & chips , the chips were cooked to much so hard , the ends of them would actually cut your mouth! The goujons came out literally on top of a bed of lettuce which with the heat of them wilted the lettuce It could have been presented so much better with a side salad, my partner took the burger which he said was just ok not very tasty & very dry! The food we thought was quite tasteless for an award winning restaurant, we paid for our meal but were not asked was everything ok if I had been I would have said then what I thought of it.

Good simple fare when we called for Sunday lunch as a family group without booking. First 2 staff members were pretty poor and even though we asked one if there was any specials we were none the wiser after the answer was so baffling/ muddled. Then who I can only assume was owner came to table and his attitude alone would make us return and I commend u sir. Now food was ok and hungry kids made light work of it but it’s odd that u have to pick between potato and veg as sides to a main course but hey that’s how it was ... I’ll be back to give them another chance anyway !!

Went into the moorings in bellenalleck the decor is outdated the owner is rude as a member of the family was insulted and was told that he looks like a boy that should be washing the dishes and not eating!!! What sort of a establishment is this “owner” running, once one of the young members of staff directed us to our table the table right next to us had a dog lying on the floor!! This is a disgrace no dog should be allowed in a restaurant and he stunk of wet dog!! This is a joke!!! When the food came I order chicken curry the curry was luke warm and was bland will definitely not be back to this absolute rubbish restaurant!!

First time there! It will also be the last! Starter took 45 mins to come out as the order didn’t reach the kitchen as we were told.... the soup was boiled water and chunks of carrots the Brie was fine but it’s hard to get wrong! THEN.... the main courses two burgers a chicken and a beef burger... the beef burger was so so bland it was in eatable and most of it was left there... my chicken burger was three chicken goujons topped with dry bacon and under was a bit of lettuce.... no dressing no taste very very dry and most of it was left behind ..... I didn’t ask for chicken goujons I asked for chicken burger.... the garlic chips ... they were hard and mildly dressed with garlic so again bland! Very very very disappointing for £33 Won’t be returning! On the up side the staff seemed nice!

We stopped off for a light lunch in the Moorings on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. It is beautifully located overlooking the Erne with a large number of boats moored beside it. There is a large deck where I assume one can dine if the weather permits. The bar/restaurant itself is clean with lots of large windows to allow one to appreciate the lovely scenery. It was quiet when we arrived as there were two other diners eating in the bar area. There were two girls working behind the bar. We seated ourselves in the restaurant area and menu's were dropped off. I should mention that there was a menu board at the entrance with a choice of 2 or 2 starters and main courses for about £12. As we were having a light lunch we didn't examine this closely. The menu is quite extensive and suited our needs perfectly. A Panini and some prawns in filo pastry were chosen. The food arrived fairly promptly and was ok. The portions were quite large and more than sufficient for our needs. I would stop by again to try some of the other dishes on the menu if I am passing. The girls working there were quite friendly.

Given the number of over-priced, pretentious eateries in the area it was refreshing to find a place that concentrates on good food at good prices. The location is lovely - looking out onto the water. As it was raining (it is Ireland!) we had to sit indoors, but on a warm / dry day, there's a deck to sit out on. The food was reasonably priced and there was a choice even for vegetarians. The only reason I didn't give this an 5* review is that the waitress forgot to bring us water and she didn't quite get my drink right. Nor did she tell us that the first course and main course I ordered had the exact same salad - coleslaw, cucumbers and tomatoes. However, I'd definitely go back there if I were in the area again.
