We arrived in Rousay on the ferry from Orkney Mainland .. a little peckish and several hours before we could check into our hotel. So, the Moorings was brilliantly signed and sited. AND, great "scran"! My travelling companion rated her Lorne + Fried Onions the best ever .. no supermarket ever sells Lorne that thick! I had a ham and cheese roil (a great roll, by the way) with about half a pound of excellent Orkney Cheese .. and, the chips .. skin on, crispy, gorgeous. Coffe and Tea were also 1st class and the range of condiments better than 5* establishments. FINALLY, the woman in charge .. fabulous service and care and funny (comedical) with it. Whether your peckish, famished, or even no' hungry, get in there and enjoy and make sure that this entrepreneurial new(ish) venture becomes the stuff of Rousay Legend, and view with Mid Howe as a tourist attraction!

First ever visit on a Sunday. Three course lunch for £15, two for £12 and just the main for £8.95. Good food and comes with a hot or cold drink (cannot say cold as fruit juice had not been chilled). Will be back.

203 King Street, Castle DouglasWe popped in here for some breakfast before heading home. The staff were lovely and the menu had a good variety to choose from. The food was very tasty and portions were very generous at very reasonably prices compared to other places around, we definitely will pop in again when we're back in the area!
