Nice place, great prices, but always busy

Wonderful ambiance. This pub in Hatchend is popular among locals and serves a decent breakfast.

I love this restaurant. It has lots of booths with comfy seats so is ideal for small groups of family/friends. The food and service are always excellent.

Requested soft eggs when ordering. Eggs hard on arrival baked beans cold and tomatoes burnt. Complained to manager who walked away, made no apologies not did he seek to rectify the problem. Awful attitude and miserable demeanour towards his customers. Not the first time I've experienced this but definitely the last.

Hot drinks machine needs updating. On regular visits, one has not been operating.

Great Wetherspoons pub. Friendly staff. Although the menu is the same as other Wetherspoons the quality here has always been excellent. Good range of real ale considering the size of the pub.

A cozy pub in the heart of hatch end. I had gone walk a walk earlier and it was bitter cold so popped in the pub to wet my whistle🤣🤣🤣 unfortunately no beer on tap as they didn’t have any full gas cylinders 😢😢😢😢😢

One of those rare Wetherspoons with a good local feeling. No problem to try an ale, and the ale that i tried was the one that I had: a very good Lancaster IPA for Monday's bargain of £1.99! I didn't eat because I had not long had breakfast in the other spoons Moon pub in Harrow. I preferred this one over the other

Busy pub in the evenings and at the weekend as a good beer garden at the back of the pub some of the younger bar staff can be a bit blinkered in their serving attitude food not bad is what it is.

Can a weatherspoons be a small country pub. Yes, lovely find in Hatch End when we called in for lunch on our London loop walk.

Go down to the Hatch End Witherspoon's occasionally on a Saturday night Nice pub, but the service is shocking. Not enough bar staff & the one's that are there, haven't got a clue about serving people in order. Don't worry you won't get drunk, because you'll spend half the night waiting for your drinks

A solid spoons with fairly good staff and a pretty good atmosphere on a Friday evening. Prices are great for the area.

We've been coming here the last several Sundays for their delicious vegetarian breakfasts and cappuccinos which are only served up to noon, so you need to get here early to get this excellent deal. Hot drinks are free refills. Highly recommended.

It's simply fantastic ! I come here as often as I can. The food is delicious. Today, I had an American burger with fries and 5 barbecue chicken wings + 1 hot drink.

We wanted a vegan breakfast - and they do one here. It's £2.50!!! Tell me, what meal can you get served on a plate that costs £2.50??? And you know what, it was pretty good. We sat outside on the lovely garden, enjoying the sunshine. The staff are so nice and friendly, you'd think they are getting paid a lot more than min -wage. I'm not sure if they are. Leave a tip...

Friendly pub. Can get busy, when I went with a friend on a Sunday afternoon it wasn't particularly busy. Menu contains food for all parts of the day.

It's a great "typical" pub in Hatch End where locals and non-locals can congregate over drinks and food and share a great time. The beer garden is always popular, the staff are young and friendly learning a trade and a great atmosphere

Value for money. Before 5pm cheaper meals. Plenty of space, big outdoor area and ground floor toilets for a change.

As a witherspoon pub, same menu as all the others in the chain, but the quality of preparation is very, very good. Delicious food at a great price.

Decent Spoons pub in one of the last villages in London and practically on the London LOOP, for all the walkers and hikers reading this! The best thing is that I saw a picture of George Orwell there. So intrigued, I went over and learned the answer to why Tim Martin used the name Moon in so many of his pubs names. Spoiler alert? Nope you'll just have to pop along to the pub and find out for yourself!

For cheap and cheerful drinks, this place is decent. The staff at the Moon and Sixpence are always there to help in a kind and friendly manner.

What are the chefs smoking at this spoons?? They come out of the bloody kitchen every 2 minutes for a cig when people have been sat 20+ minutes for frozen food. Once waited nearly an hour for a pizza that never arrived because “we can’t defrost it because it’s frozen” what… maybe if the chefs laid off the cigs and the free coffee machine people would get their bloody dinner.

Service is very slow when ordering buy the app you sometimes for 20mins for your drinks. The staff are always going out the back for a cigarette instead of delivery the drinks

By far this is the best Wetherspoons. It’s very clean and cared for, the staff are absolutely lovely and the food is well presented and tastes a lot better than other Wetherspoons. I could quite easily go to another restaurant and pay double and still not get as good service as I’ve had here. Xx

Decent Spoons in the sticks, handy for Hatch End Overground Station. A handful of sub £3 cask ales all on good form. And the staff were friendly, on the ball and seemed happy to be there. Non-sticky tables a massive plus! 👍

Okay, it's a Spoons. But it's one of the really good ones. None of the school dinners' pong that affects the worst of Tim Martin's chain. And none of the CAMRA pretentiousness that affects others. It's a genuine community pub, full inside and in the large pub garden, when I called on a pleasant Friday evening in May. And the clientele reflects the area. Lots of traditional Londoners but with tables filled with youngsters from the Indian sub-continent. Hatch End is the last stop in Zone 6 on lines to Watford, has a cliquey reputation, but The Moon may offer a glimpse of the area's future.

Wetherspoons #118 visited. A medium sized branch situated in Hatch End shopping area, a short walk of 200 metres, or so from Hatch End Overground Station. A decent sized beer garden is outside the rear of the pub. This is another branch that does the highly reasonable 'Top Plates, Low Rates' deals - see image attached for deals and pricing. On this occasion I ordered an All Day Brunch and a pint of Strongbow Dark Fruits. Not bad for £6.44! The drink arrived within about a minute of ordering through the app. Food arrived about 10 minutes after ordering. Food was piping hot, well cooked and presented. Chips were crunchy, not soggy like you get on some occasions. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area and don't want to break the bank for a decent meal. Note: after a substantial amount of visits I do feel that many of the smaller Spoons pubs do make more of an effort for your custom than many of the larger, more well known branches. The Moon and Sixpence in Hatch End is one of those smaller branches that makes an effort.

Terrible food! Ordered a large breakfast and when it arrived my mushrooms were missing. I asked the waitress for them and she brought me some butter about 10 mins after. The bacon tasted like it had been on the bbq. It tasted dirty like the pans they are using to cook need a good scrub, the eggs were crispy and hard and the bread had literally been warmed not toasted as there was no colour to it at all. The restaurant stunk of stale cigarette smoke . The pub itself seems nice and cozy but it really needs either new cooking utensils or a new chef!

Rosie and staff made us all feel very welcome and food was excellent.

There's a great atmosphere here. I also saw the tallest goy ever here last weekend. He was very friendly also.

Looks great from outside. Not as spacious inside as most Spoons and feels a bit like a locals bar. Staff were friendly offering efficient service. Ales we're well served in good condition. Food was standard fair.

Great comminuty pub in the heart of Hatch End. Can be busy at weekends 2/3 deep at the bar but if you have the Wetherspoon App you can stay seated and they bring the drinks too you!

Extremely busy, we only went there for pre dinner drinks.

Ordered the gourmet steak meal on a Tuesday (steak night). There were a lot of orders before mine, but the server was polite and gave good indication of expected wait, which was accurate. When the food arrived it was piping hot and quite frankly the best steak they've ever served me!

Basic food but for the price, there is not a lot to expect. I had a burger, nothing special, better at McD. It says on the menu that the meat is traceable. Service was ok.

I popped in here on Tuesday with my family. We ordered food and drinks, all were great. I would highly recommend visiting.

The service here when busy is absolutely awful. They have alot of staff but non of them manage to serve at the bar! All you see is staff running around with no clue. Don't get me wrong... the pub is good the staff let it down. 2022-09-06 = Still the same... serve very slowly. You will have an in flux of people and end up standing theres for 20 mins! They don't realise who has been waiting at the bar the longest. 2023-09-12 = By now I'm just starting to think it's a purposely lead theme here now. I think weatherspoons are going to have to start hiring people with degrees.... Just to get things right logistically... in just one pub. Managers are absolutely useless, basically a bartender when they want to be.

I hadsteak , chips & side salad. The chips were lovely, the salad ok, the steak too fatty. The help yourself condiments were well supplied, with a great variety of choices. The rest room was spotless & whole place was lovely & clean. The staff were friendly & helpful, I would visit again, just wouldn't order steak.

Handy place to stop and Reston the London Loop

The highlight here is the large garden seating area which is not what you'd expect from a suburban high street. Otherwise it's the standard Wetherspoons fare with a friendly welcome from the staff. Shame there's nowhere secure to leave bikes though.

Good food, service and atmosphere A cut above the other Weatherspooons I have previously visited

Update: August 2023. Generally things have improved at this particular Wetherspoons. Been a couple of occasions and Drinks machine has been working. Disappointing to arrive for Sunday breakfast and find yet again there is no hot drinks because the coffee machine has broken down. I really don't understand why this pub only has the one machine—further frustrated by ordering a breakfast muffin with a free hot drink and being charged extra for ordering an orange juice. What choice does the customer have? This whole episode was compounded by wanting to complain to Wetherspoon's head office in Watford by telephone. Calling the customer service number, you get a recorded message informing you that if you have a complaint, you should use their app or email. Then the line cuts off. Seriously disappointed by the whole visit. This is the third time in as many months I have visited with my elderly patents for breakfast to find their only hot drinks machine is either only dispensing hot water for tea and black coffee or not working at all. I guess JD Wetherspoons don't want to invest in their pubs! By the bar you could also see some type of ceiling water leak that obviously had been going on for weeks. We won't be returning any time soon.

The food was good, Nachos were crunchy and tasty, all the food was hot in temperature, the garden out the back had improved over the years good spot to sit and have drinks and or food. Only thing I would pick out on this visit is I asked for a room temperature bottle of water which they replied they only have cold ones.

Staff were lovely and enjoyed a bit of banter. We were in a large party but they were unfazed. All praise to their kitchen team.

To get a large mixed grill with alcoholic drink in London for under £15 is practically impossible...except here! You might think there would be a compromise on quality but no. All the food is more than reasonable and the staff are friendly and professional.

Brilliant breakfast and lovely staff. Had my food served out in back garden in glorious sunshine. Endless cups of Lavazza coffee as you wish.

Absolutely bargain prices for their breakfast! Good quality for the price so very much worth the travel time.

I went for a Beyond burger and it was the most disappointing burger I’ve had. I didn’t have high expectations but there are minimums you expect from a simple burger. Don’t think will go back.

Went in for a last drink before heading home after a lovely meal but got fed up waiting to be served after and 15mins left. Would not mind if the place was busy but it wasn't, staff just had no sense of urgency to serve and seemed to be running around like headless chikens
