The menu online is out of date 2 years ago so no food sold, nice pub but needs updating for other customers was some hot food in food cabinet

The toilets are a bit cramped but gets the job done. The urinals are too close together and when you wash your hands you are centimetres away from someone having a wee (don't ignore the splatter factor). The door was falling apart and the toilets felt outdated but have recently been redecorated. The men's toilets smell really bad and you can smell them from the bar. the toilet is mentally and physically uncomfortable. The WiFi signal is good so it's great for the longer visits. 3/5 just okay

Nice inviting pub. Lovely warm and attentive bar person this holiday weekend. Clean loos. Friendly patronage. Didn't eat this time, but will definitely call again this coming summertime.

Thank you so much to Helen and the team for letting us host my baby shower at The Moon! It was the perfect space for all of our 40/50 guests! We hired out the whole pub for 3 hours and everyone commented on how lovely it was. Helen was amazing throughout the planning process and let us dress the pub with balloons and bunting and even let us bring our own catering. We are so grateful that we could host our baby shower at The Moon and will definitely recommend to anyone needing a venue for functions/gatherings!

What has happened to the previous owner? Pub is disgraceful-food poor only burgers- no carvery Dart board and disgraceful people going in who previously had been banned. No longer a nice village pub sadly

The Moon is under new management. There are clearly efforts to improve the paintwork. But, there are no pictures on the walls. The tables were sticky. The carpet is dirty, and chairs scruffy. The Ladies toilet had tape across it, labelled Danger, no entry. The food menu has depleted, with only burgers and pizzas. The burgers were overcooked, bread roll dry. This is the only pub in Storrington that serves food. It has completely lost it's way. This is so sad. Storrington has a large population. Gone are the days of busy evenings in the beautiful garden. The Sunday Carvery is not there. The pub now has a dart board, and quiz nights. Typical of a working man's club. Such a shame.

Food used to be amazing. Change in chef. Change in management. Stale food. Multiple items not on menu. Kitchen shutting early. What has happened?

We visited on Sunday for lunch and were extremely surprised that the carvery was no longer on offer. Many of the items on the menu were also not available, the pizzas we had were indifferent. Clearly new management but the whole pub looks very shabby and run down. A revamp is now needed. The prices have risen which is to be expected but this is no longer a value for money location and not one for a traditional Sunday lunch. The shabby state extends to the chairs which are heavily soiled and unpleasant. We will not be back.

What a shame we have been visiting this pub for at least the last three years and had incredible service and nice food. The service is still great but sadly the food is not. My garlic chicken was memorable for its awfulness. Microwaved, grey and tasteless! My partners fish portion was small and tasted i fresh. What a shame! Bring back the chilli and a decent chef!

Came here for lunch on saturday afternoon, greeted very quickly by the waitress and she was polite and enthusiastic. a good range of drinks on tap and a good local IPA which i throughly enjoyed. I had a beef burger and added extras at a small extra cost. my partner ordered the chicken panini. both meals were outstanding and more than enough to fill us up! can’t fault anything and will definitely be returning as summer approaches to explore the beer garden! 10/10

I visit the Moon at least twice a week with my friends for breakfast and drinks, the staff are very friendly and professional, the food is sourced locally well cooked and very tasty.

Five of us popped in for a late lunch, without booking. Hospitality was excellent - friendly, helpful. Food very good pub food and good value. The burgers (both chicken and beef) were very good. Chips hot and crisp: what more can you ask? :) Others had pizzas - looked good and the ham/egg/chips. All good.

Stopped by for lunch with My Judith; waitress remembered me from 3 months earlier. Even remembered what I had ordered ! Proper Job as Guest Ale. Super food and service. What more do you want ? Thank you Lara. xx

Me and my girlfriend decided we wanted to go out for a roast as you do on a Sunday and when we booked the table we specifically said we are coming for the carvery and when we get there apparently there wasn't any meat left for us to have one. So then we decided to order something else, I ordered the hickory pizza and my girlfriend had a burger and while we were waiting the table next to us got their roasts and the staff said to them that they are running out of veg so they put extra meat on their plates instead Which I was not happy about considering we were told you had no meat left?! And then my pizza came out and no word of a lie there was a puddle of water in the center of it and where the water was the dough was raw, it was disgusting and honestly made me feel sick after a few bites To top it all off when I complained to the waitress she took my plate into the kitchen and came back and said 'the chef apologises but it's hard to keep up with how everyone different likes it’ Oh I’m sorry so how many people have ordered uncooked pizza soaked in water?? Not happy and will not be eating here again

Excellent carvery, choice of meats, all beautifully cooked and seasoned. Great selection of vegetables, perfectly served. Definately a place to return. Other meals available, they all looked scrummy.

Visited this pub twice and have to say very impressed with how safe we both felt with the way the pub had adapted to the Covid guidelines. Food is very good and lovely pub inside and out. If you are visiting the area you won’t be disappointed .

Family of 6 here for a Sunday lunch. It was 'nicely busy' creating a buzzy atmosphere and the food was very good. The carvery meat was excellent and you can really pile up on the delicious veg. Good attentive drinks service and very nice deserts. Recommended.

Lovely town pub and friendly attentive staff. The Burger and chips was awesome and the desserts are good too. However look at my picture and your see monk fish curry that is not cooked properly. It’s raw translucent not translucent white. Hence I didn’t die and had no ill effect. I am of poor sight and didn’t notice until the next day when I showed my friend my picture of the meal.

I was a little sceptical about meeting for lunch in this pub on Storrington High Street as it doesn't look like much from the front, but my friend had been there many times before and liked it so I took a punt.& I'm glad I did! The food was lovely. Sadly their delivery was late so they had no cheese for my Welsh rarebit, but my second choice of a fish finger sandwich on granary bread was an excellent substitute! It came with the crispest chips ever - gorgeous! Everyone at the table was pleased with their choices including my gluten intolerant friend who had the fish pie (massive & very filling with lots of prawns) Service was very good and the pub was surprisingly busy for a weekday lunch time.Not getting my Welsh rarebit will be a great excuse to go back again soon!

Superb Christmas Day Meal - we went as a family to The Moon for Christmas Day - superb! The first time for a long time not done at home and it was really wonderful - great food and atmosphere- and no washing up! Highly recommend

Love this pub, Staff are so friendly and welcoming, food is always 5⭐️. We all had a lovely Sunday roast as our flyball club trains near by and thought perfect place for our Christmas meet up. Moved to Storrington recently and have had Sunday lunch twice with friends and for a family birthday. Wonderful food and excellent service from a friendly and professional team. Local produce cooked with care. I cannot recommend it highly enough ! Andrew Scarborough

If I could give this pub a 0 star rating... I would. The senior staff here are absolutely vile towards customers and have no respect. The food here is extremely over priced for what it is, not worth your money at all. A few staff (younger bar staff) are nice and respectful, but unfortunately seemed exhausted during the time that we were there, and can agree that they seem absolutely petrified of the landlords! Save yourself the trip.

Just paid £3.00 for two glasses of milk. Essentially half a pint each. A pint is 49p in Tescos. I think this is a little steep.

Turned up on a brilliant sunny Sunday afternoon after a magical visit to Amberley Museum where an amazing gentleman made me flowers out of tree branches with the heavenly smell of wood burning in the background! They now have pride of place in my lounge. Whenever I look at them I think of the glorious peace of the Sussex countryside. Proceeded to turn up at The Moon at a pre-booked Sunday lunch table and greeted by a most charming and helpful lady who took our drinks order and guided us through the Sunday lunch menu in the carvery. The pub had a lovely busy noisy atmosphere which I love - all the regulars having a fabulous time. Proceeded to the carvery where an amazing chef took our order - he was so helpful and efficient and even when I was critisized by a neighbour for taking 8 roast potatoes the chef came to my aid and said "Dont worry - there are plenty more!" and proceeded to serve up the most delicious roast beef and yorkshire pudding and vegetables. The Yorkshire pudding was the best I have had in ages and the beef was very tender. Service was prompt and efficient and the atmosphere was great. The ladies wc was very clean and very easily accessible - unlike some places where you have to walk miles to get to them! The price was very reasonable. The grandchilden were very happy and my son went back for seconds for vegetables - he looked absolutely fine and happy. Parking is easy just round the corner near Waitrose. Thoroughly recommended.

Was famished when we stepped in. Ok the pub looks a bit grubby outside, but please do go kn the food is gorgeous. I had the linguine with duck in a white sauce, it was lovely the orange zest sounds odd with it but just finushes the dish off. My husband had steak, both meals arrived in good time n the pub was fairly busy. Nice friendly service. Steak was correctly cooked n tasty. X will be back.

It’s our first visit to The Moon & we will be sure to return. We came for the carvery Sunday lunch, a wide selection of meats, beef cooked to perfection & melt in the mouth. Lovely roasted veg & potatoes too.

I have a friend in Storrington, who recommended The Moon and this is where we always go whenever we are able to get together and make a point of this on a Sunday. There are always 4 meats available (you can choose 1 slice from 2 meats), Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast potatoes and parsnips when in season and home-made gravy. Loads of vegetables, some with a white/cheese sauce. You can have more than 1 serving of veg. On last visit we were able to eat outside in the shade. Excellent value for money and a look-forward-to experience. Make sure you book and are very hungry!

A great family meal out for 5 people. The menu is very good with lots of choice and the food is beautifully presented. We had a selection of burgers, a pizza and a fishmonger sandwich - all of which were generous and very tasty. Good selection of ales too. will come back.

Went for a meal while passing through. I’m always one to check reviews so thought this place was ideal! All I can say is the landlords friends and family must do the reviews! The landlord and his wife are rude and the staff seem petrified of them and not willing to help. The meals are more like a roadside truck stop. Save your money and go elsewhere seriously!

The Moon has a large menu plus daily specials, so there is a wide choice to pick from. I eventually opted for Indonesian monkfish curry from the specials board and it was really delicious. The portion size was just right, leaving me enough room for a refreshing lemon meringue sundae. My husband enjoyed his steak which was cooked to perfection. We washed the meal down with a very good bottle of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome, so I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Myself and my partner stopped here on the way home this evening, the owner and lady who served us (didn’t catch names) were extremely welcoming and lovely throughout our visit. The food was to die for and also extremely well priced! We will be visiting again very soon to taste the Sunday lunch and can’t wait to keep going back! We enjoyed lunch at The Moon with visiting family members. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the service was excellent. The Sunday Roast was also really good with all meats tender and a good selection of vegetables. One child had fish and another ordered children's meatballs and everyone was delighted with the quality of the food. Various desserts were ordered which arrived in good time and all were delicious. All in all an excellent meal. We will return. Thank you.

7 of us three adults and four children went for the carvery and were amazed at the standard for a normal high street pub. The staff were so kind helpful. The carvery was superb, plenty of choice and the Yorkshire puddings, roasties and veg were very very good.

A hidden gem! From the outside and even on the inside it is a normal pub however the food was simply wonderful. We came for the Carvery and it really was superb. The choice of meats was turkey, lamb, beef or pork and all looked fantastic. Between our group of seven we had them all and being a beef farming family are particularly critical of meat but all the meat was perfectly cooked and tender. The Yorkshire puddings, potatoes, vegetables and gravy were all great and we were very full and happy! The deserts were all fantastic too, I had the chocolate brownie and ice cream which was lovely and warm and perfectly cooked.

The pub offers well cooked but simple, rather unadventurous food (not a bad thing in itself), that you can rely upon, but nothing really special.

Came for dinner on a Sunday, it’s a cosy place and a bit dark inside, but the food is lovely! The staff are happy, friendly and approachable, although there was one lady behind the bar who seemed to stare a lot and our plates took a while to be cleared along with receiving the bill, but didn’t ruin anything. Definitely recommend the battered veg! A lovely local pub!

In the area visiting family from the US. We were looking for a place to enjoy a beer, food, and catch up. The Moon fit the bill!! The beer was great, food and service from the wait staff was spot on, and the environment was perfect. We had a wonderful time and will return if we are in the area again. Give this joint a try!!

My wife oransied a surprise 65 birthday event for me and my friends and family at The Moon. Richard and his team did a brilliant job making sure everytthing went to plan. The finger buffet was very good and was a good mix of hot and cold. There was Gluten and Lactose free offerings as well. The choice of ales and drinks was excellant as usual and everyone had a great time. Thank you very much Richard.

We went for the Sunday carvery. Well cooked three meats and unrestricted vegetables. As a bonus my son's dogs were given a doggy bag which disappeared in seconds.

I've been to The Moon 3 times for the Sunday roast which very very tasty. Booking is advised as it is very popular. The food is freshly cooked on the day and one can tell. There's a vegetarian option, lamb, beef pork etc. The choice of vegetables is astounding and you can have a second helping of the vegetables and potatoes. The Yorkies are home made and so is the gravy. The part of the pub where I sat on all 3 occasions, at the back, is comfortable and very pleasant.

Went here for lunch and although the place is in need of a bit of painting and refurbishing the food and service was good. I had a Bacon, Brie and cranberry sandwich which was tasty, it had a nice lot of cranberry which quite often there isn’t enough of. It is probably slightly expensive for what is, as someone has said previously in a review £8.95 for a fish finger sandwich, but it was all very fresh and served with a smile which is very important. Also the pub is dog friendly.

On arrival establishment was very full of people eating and enjoying themselves I ordered my meal which was garlic and thyme chicken with fries and salad when it was served to me you could say there was plenty of it but unfortunately the chicken was so dry you couldn’t eat it all

We arrived without having booked, on a Sunday but we were able to find a table. The service was fantastic by all the staff, who were polite and friendly too. The food is amazing! Their burgers are incredible and one of our party had the carvery which looked and smelled delicious! (She confirmed it was too). The portion sizes are very generous and we will definitely visit again.

I am in Storrington on business and the hotel I am staying in does not serve food on a Monday evening so they advised me on a couple of places to eat and the Moon pub was one. From the outside the pub does look a bit dated but once inside it’s very well set out and is bigger than it looks. The service was 5*, the food was excellent and the beer was good too. A very pleasant experience and I was working from my lap top so the bar staff made an effort to get me onto the WiFi and do table service in the bar. Highly recommended. I will be back

Super welcoming and friendly the moon always surpasses our expectations. The Sunday carvery is delicious..I had the vegetarian nut roast.. the desserts are off the hook and there are new vegan options on the menu. Great family feel, dog friendly... Richard, his family and all the staff make you feel so welcome..like a home from home. Highly recommended!

It had been a long time since i had visited this pub, although i have lived in Storrington for 50 years, and what a surprise it was. My husband and i went with 2 friends for supper last week, on a recommendation, We sat upstairs in the cosy bar. The menu had a great selection of pies, pizzas, burgers and much more. The food when it arrived was delicious.The waiter was delightful and very helpful, I think his name was Josh. I have now booked for 11 of us to go later this month and hope it will be as good.

Booked a table for 4 for lunch,once we were seated informed no carvery left as seven people had arrived told we were welcome to what scraps were left,board outside advised booking which we had done.Richard was apologetic and offered a discount if we came again,finished our drinks and went over the road to the Anchor and had a nice meal.

The food is good but now getting over priced and the staff are a put of ! They were wearing short tops showing there belly and revealing tops that left nothing to the imagination, and one wearing a short skirt and the other wearing very tight leggings that were see through!

Went here on a recent weekend trip to the area. Had a fab burger and pizza - plenty of toppings, great flavours, lovely chips and onion rings that looked and tasted home-made. Very friendly staff and would definitely recommend.

As a local to the village we come here a lot, it’s our favourite pub in the village and it serves the best pub food. The moon burger is worth the visit alone. And we regularly get take out pizzas which are also pretty good too very generous toppings!

Initial observations were not good. No car park (although I did squeeze in by the side of the pub and was told that was the manager's spot but he was off for the day.) Menu consisted of burgers, pizzas and children's meals.

Fish finger sandwich was £8.95 for white bread, fish fingers, 5 chips and some sad looking salad. Had to laugh at how bad it was otherwise I might have cried haha After hearing good things and seeing the decent reviews on here the disappointment was overwhelming.

We were passing and stopped by for a drink or two. The pub seemed quite smart and we were pleased to see signs that they were dog friendly which will be noted for the future. The staff were friendly and helpful and we sat outside in the garden which was quite a sun trap although we felt that there were a lot of tables squeezed into a small area which wouldn't give the opportunity for much privacy, if that was what you are after. People on the table next to us had a burger which was enormous and looked very tasty. Something else we noted for next time!

Me and my family regularly visit the moon for food and a few drinks. The food is brilliant, especially the burgers! The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Wanted to go with a friend for lunch but sadly got turned off by a man sitting on the front steps smoking, not a good invitation. Sue and I walked up the other steps to avoid the smoke, ordered two red wines and some guy in garden stripped off and his language was dreadful. Management should get their act together. Won’t be back.

Friendly staff great burgers quick service and reasonable prices with a nice garden behind the pub. Will definitely go back next time I am in Storrington. Some parking to the side for motorbikes, but you will need to find somewhere else to park your car.

Pub on main road so you have to park just down the road. Nice atmosphere, we sat in the garden which was nice with. Pleanty of umbrellas. I had chicken, motsorella and veg panini with salad, very good. Friendly staff and good service.

The very fact that I and a friend have decided to join this site on the advice of another unhappy customer says a lot, I never feel the need to complain in general but after the way we were "served" in this public house ,left me and my friends feeling like something the bar lady had stepped in! Rude and we felt we were disturbing her Friday Night ordering a drink!

Food is adequate but rather expensive ,trying to get the bar girl to hear what drink I wanted to order was a long drawn out affair ,and they could benefit from some customer service training as I felt I was a hindrance for wanting to order, a smile and a please and thank you would be nice

Stopped to break up our journey so just popped. Very friendly staff and a lovely sun trap terrace at the back. Great kids meal portion sizes and all the food was really tasty and well presented. Really pleased we plumped to eat here. Shame we’re not local or we would be back!

Visited this pub today and looked at the cost of food on the menu and decided the best option would be to go for the £13 carvers given the rest of the options on the menu were almost the same price. The carver was awful, the worst one I've ever had. The beef was decidedly undercooked and the lamb tasted awful. My family members were disappointed with their meals as well. The only positive was the kids meal which was good value for £6.25.

We visited last night and it was quite busy, however it is more of a drinkers pub than a meal pub. The burgers are lovely, however they are pricey at over £14 each. The pies are not that great to be honest with you and don't warrant the high price they charge.
