The Mission Cafe Windermere in South Lakeland

I can't praise this Cafe highly enough. Right from our first visit, the service has been excellent and the staff very, very friendly. The food is always delicious and excellent value. The Cafe also has such a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere that it has now become a regular place for my wife and I to go for a tasty breakfast or an afternoon snack, relax, and also get to meet other locals. But don't think twice if you're not a local but just visiting the area, the staff are such lovely people they will make you feel so welcome. And, very important for us, it's dog friendly.

This is our go to cafe after a walk on the fells. Cracking jacket potatoes, classic Reuben sandwich and stunning cakes. A log fire and a very warm welcome.

We chose this place for a meeting and it was excellent, friendly, laid back and lovely service. It was very attractive inside and great views on terrace outside.

I had a warm fish finger and tartare sauce sandwich it was absolutely delicious. It comes with coleslaw and kettle crisps but I didn't have these as I'm trying to watch my calories 🤣🤣. The staff as always are a delight and always helpful. Well worth a visit you can sit inside or outside with a beautiful view of the Park and watch the world go by.

Fantastic breakfast in relaxed friendly atmosphere. Great view from terrace overlooking the park. A hidden Gem. Highly recommend. Dog friendly and reasonably priced.

We found this place whilst walking the dogs. Dog friendly is always a bonus for us. Absolute hidden gem… Delicious food and friendly staff. We ate the best banana bread EVER!! Highly recommend, we’ll be back

What a find! We had a delicious breakfast here made even more enjoyable by the wonderful and friendly service from all the staff. There is a very welcoming ambience as soon as you walk in and our server was very flexible when we requested some changes with our order. So many yummy options on the menu, it was difficult to choose! We will just have to go again another time! Great location with the park/play area just in front, perfect place to chill out with the kids.

Visited for lunch with friends. We all enjoyed our food without exception, beautiful presentation and delicious flavours . A good menu too. The service is very friendly and welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend. Locals can get discounts on food and drink if you get a loyalty card

We visited this little cafe twice during our two week holiday in Windermere. It's a little out of the centre so it's less bustling but it is a wonderful location as it overlooks a park and lots of green space. We found it because it was at the end of the road where we were staying on holiday but what a find! We will definitely return. The service came with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we've had (excellent quality meat and the eggs cooked just how you like them, to perfection) and several of our group really enjoyed the halloumi sandwich. The sauces come in full size bottles, not the little sachets that some places have. Coffee was excellent too. Great place!

Went here for brunch with family and was immediately impressed by the beautiful decor and friendly atmosphere, service was speedy and all staff were wonderful, enjoyed high quality food and would 100% come back if in the area again! Definitely worth visiting!

Visited with my wife and children. Warm welcome, relaxed vibe and beautiful early 1900’s decor. My ‘Big Mission Breakfast’ was delightful; poached eggs done to perfection, great local sausages etc. everything was ultra high quality. Kids had chicken meals which were brilliant (proper chicken breast)....
