Excellent cafe based downstairs at Bonhoga Gallery and shop. Cakes, made by young woman who runs cafe, are amazingly good and reasonably priced. Nice views of stream and countryside. Can be busy at lunch time but otherwise OK. Simple lunch menu...soup, quiche. Friendly service.

We love Bonhoga for the gallery, beautifully stocked shop and fantastic cafe! There’s always a great couple of soups on the menu and lovely cakes! The gallery space supports local artists whilst the shop below has a great selection of gifts. The staff are always welcoming too!!

Apart from having to queue to park and then queue for a table, this is an excellent cafe. The old Mill has been tastefully adapted with art and craft items on the upper floors and the cafe on the lower floor. In fine weather there is additional seating on a terrace but this was a wet day so we were a little cramped inside. Despite this the staff remained cheerful and helpful, serving and clearing tables as quickly as they could. There is a good choice of food and drinks.

We had delicious homemade scones with jam and cream on a wet & windy Thursday afternoon. They do a lovely selection of cakes, scones, soups and light lunches. The ladies were very friendly and chatty. They also had jams, chutney and mincemeat for sale, all homemade. The upstairs shop has a really nice selection of gifts. Beautiful clean cafe. Definitely recommended.

Popped in here for lunch between work on this working holiday and forgot after all these years how nice this place is.You enter through a really fabulous shop and go down into the pretty tea room with lovely views and the sound of rushing water. The ladies serving were so nice and chatty and very helpful. We had a simple lunch of home made soup and cake. What a great combination....healthy and not !!!!The soup was delicious and nice and thick with lovely bread, and the cakes were luscious.Really good coffee and the local paper to read.I love the setting of this place and even in lashing rain, it is still a place to sit and look at the view.Thank you for a lovely lunch.

The food here is ALWAYS guaranteed to be good. Nice platters, using local ingredients, home made cakes, cafetieres of coffee, an array of teas. A lovely place to visit to whatever the weather.

I really liked this cafe My friend and I sat there in the warm sunny conservatory knitting and chatting Lunch : salmon bagel with salad - was delicious and I particularly liked the sparkling elderflower water. Scones and chocolate cake, both handmade, were scrumptious!

This cafe is not signposted from the main road but follow signs to the Art Gallery and you will not be disappointed. We had coffee (shame there isn't cappacino etc on offer) and hot chocolate and the best scones in Shetland by far! Lovely view from the windows.

This cafe would be welcome if it did no more than provide cups of tea, but actually it has a good little menu and whoever bakes the cakes should be on Bake Off. They have the lightest Victoria sponge I've ever tasted, great cheese scones and warming soups (which can be useful in our climate). The service is good, considering they can get very, very busy - locals come here as well as visitors, and for good reasons. Great view, too.

There is a limited choice here but the food is good. Ideally situated for lunch when you are on the westside. Soups are good and sandwiches are filling.

Went to see an photo exhibition. Went to cafe, place packed out so I went to kill some time in the shop. Whilst chatting to the friendly shop assistant who I knew, very abrupt and unfriendly manager type lady barged in to speak to the very friendly shop assistant. Barking at me "are you at the cafe" I replied " no I got fed up waiting" she huffed and left. (I did intend to try go back) 5-10 mins later she stromped back and barked" are you holding my staff up from working" I was stunned on how rude she was to me. Regardless on who I am no one should be spoken to like that. As I was a customer, they should never forget that. Anyway I was that shocked I said what? She said the staff had things to do, I replied what? She then barked the assistant had a list of things to do. I really was shocked on the manager??? I hope she doesn't talk to all the customers like she did to me. Customer service training to management please!!! Hence I was so angry I decided to go else where for my lunch this day. Cafe is good when you get in.

Friendly staff, good food, plenty of gluten free options. First time I visited there was hardly any customers but the second time it was very busy so I was glad I reserved a table.
