Had fantastic valentines meal massive thank you to Daisey and Libby for excellent service. great attention to detail an asset to the company. table service was second to none very polite and welcoming Thank you both for a lovely evening.

Had the thai sea the fish its was cooked ok but small filets. however the butter nut squash was raw got a second one with was just as bad but burn sauce, rice was over cooked mush probably yesterday rice microwaved. Still pretty much charged for it.

Two female Staff have stood next time my table the whole time I’ve been eating made me feel uncomfortable for what reason I don’t know looking at me what a horrible atmosphere it is in here the female manger is stood there like I’m going to run off without paying

Went here for lunch with friends to catch it was a great experience the food was lovely, the service was wonderful and Poorv suggested some great cocktails definitely worth a visit.

Went with a group of friends and family, not having been for awhile, having been somewhat disappointed on past visits thought would give it a try again much to say won’t be going back. Service in the past has been poor and last night was even worse, on three occasions did we have to go and find staff even though it wasn’t especially busy, empty plates left for 3/4 hr and we had to ask for them to be cleared after we had collected them together as we were tired of waiting, never got asked is we would like dessert, had to go find someone to take drinks order and then to get the bill, service is horrendous. As the food it’s only average, my food was only just warm and certainly nothing to make me want to return. To say disappointing is an understatement.

We went in December food and staff were amazing and helpful so we went again in January with some friends and oh my! The service was terrible food was not good and they forgot our food and drinks several times my daughters food was cold staff were not as friendly and it wasn't even busy so not like they were swept off there feet they spent most the time standing around doing nothing so not sure I will go back which is ashame as the first time was lovely

Dined here on the 30th January, belated by a couple of days' birthday lunch for three people plus one tiny fur baby. It's wonderful that dogs are allowed to accompany dinners, albeit seated in the bar area, but you dont even realise you are in the bar area because It's so beautifully decorated and set out, etc So please don't be put off when informed you need to sit in the bar area if you bring your fur babies with you! The service was outstanding. The staff, as always, were/are extremely friendly and attentive. Lots of food choice, close attention given regarding food allergies, etc. It was most impressive that our waitresses who I believe was also the manager (unless I misunderstood) took our starter and main course orders without standing to write the order down or fiddle with a handheld tablet etc. which was most impressive, with faultless results. The food was beautiful, portion size was very generous, and there was nothing that could be faulted. Slight hickup on arrival as apparently guests aren't allowed in before midday, not even to sit on the cosy seats in the reception/bar area, so asked to stand outside in the cold, but handled well by management but this ideally needs rectifying for future bookings at 12 midday. A lovely touch was the personalised birthday card from the staff and a complimentary mocktail. Apparently, staff had enquired if the birthday recipient (me) was a driver and if a mocktail would be preferred, as opposed to cocktail/Prosecco, etc. As a driver and none drinker, I appreciated the mocktail, which tasted lovely and something I'd gladly order again and pay for. Staff don't rush you or demand the table back after a set amount of time, so you are free to have a leisurely lunch. I have dined here before and will most definitely dine here again, and highly recommended to others.

Tough one to rate. Almost all the food was delicious service was good, great atmosphere. Good cocktail menu. The arancini and tortellini were particularly good. Unfortunately the crispy beef salad was terrible. Over cooked, not crispy, greasy and chewy. However when we said we did not like it when the waitress checked she immediately offered to replace it. So kept the 5 stars as they fixed the issue and the replacement dish was much nicer.

Food was delicious, great portion sizes. T-bone steak cooked exactly how I like it. Jamie was a polite and professional server who took care of all our needs during our visit. Thanks to the entire team at the Milehouse!

Welcome was great, friendly and attentive staff. We ordered a sharing meat meat platter @ £59.95. It took around 30 minutes to arrive. The host asked if the meal was ok and as it had only just arrived we replied all ok. However when we came to eat the food we found it cold and at best the sausages were luke warm. When we complained to the host acknowledged our complaint and the meal was not charged (we ate very little of it). The sitting position I sat at enabled me to see the plating area. I saw one of the staff constantly text on his phone and then adjust the food with his ungloved hands. Research shows 10 times more germs on a phone than on a toilet seat. So disappointed a special meal spoilt. Spend your money wisely and choose another restaurant.

So me and the other half went here yesterday for our anniversary, and what a spectacular time we had. The food was exquisite! She had squid for a starter which I had to sample myself and for someone who doesn’t eat fish that often it was lovely. I had Thai fritters which were nice but weren’t as warm as I’d thought they would be but none the less they were very tasty, for mains I had the pork belly and she had chicken katsu and both were cooked to perfection. Lastly I had sticky toffee pudding and she had a cheese cake which like the rest of the meal was spot on, I really couldn’t recommend this place enough. Also a nice touch to the occasion due to us having our anniversary there they gave us a nice glass of Prosecco each. Lastly our waiter Wesley was such a lovely person and very knowledgeable on what to recommend with certain meals just to add that extra umph to the dishes we chose. This place is very much recommended from me and my partner too anyone that fancy’s a spectacular meal!.

Have been to this restaurant on quite a few occasions in the past and it used to be good, however we stopped going a couple of years ago as the food and service became poor and disappointing. Went back this weekend with family for a Christmas meet up and sorry to say that it's not improved, and was in fact worse. Very slow service, food turned up cold, a wait time of approx an hour for the main course to appear. We were there almost 4 hours for 2 courses and a coffee. You can get better value and better food for about half the price elsewhere locally. A shame it's not good value as it's only saving grace is that it's a nice looking place.

Thanks to Jamie and all The Milehouse team who looked after us so nicely last Saturday. The food was of exceptional quality and everyone enjoyed their lunches very much!

Fantastic food today although service was a little slow do some of the party had to leave prior to dessert.

Visited at midday on a Sunday. Was fairly quiet, staff were friendly and nice decor. Once seated we waited perhaps 15 min before drinks orders were taken and the took and 15 to arrive. Food orders were taken about 10 min later (we'd been there 40 min by this point and it was still fairly quiet). It was another 30 - 40 min before starters arrived, these were very nice. It was starting to fill up now. Our table was not cleared for at least 20 min after starters were finished. Some in the group were starting to get annoyed at all the waiting. Nearby tables who ordered after us were having their second courses served by this point so we asked what was happening with our order. They were very apologetic and it came out around 5 min later. The problem was that some of the dishes weren't very warm, the sharing Sunday lunch was quite cool. Much of the veg was hard and not well cooked (harder than you'd expect with aldente). All told 3 hours to be served 2 courses, the latter course being of disappointing quality.

I would not recommend this place. As it was for a big occasion (25th anniversary) we thought it would be a lovely place to celebrate. However it was proven that I couldn’t have been any more wrong, lack of communication from a booking booked 6 weeks prior to the occasion & several inconveniences 2 days prior. If I had visited on a random occasion then I wouldn’t be so annoyed however I am highly disappointed that these mistakes not made by me have ruined something which can never be rectified. Food wasn’t quality for the prices they charge, I actually added up all of our food and it come just over £300 and that’s not including the drink prices. So to say we are disgusted is the least. Staff are incompetent & rude. I would not return. Picture attached below of what was left on my plate and it’s safe to say I left the restaurant just as hungry as I came in☺️

I am so sad to be having to leave this review. We had steak which unfortunately was far too salty to enjoy. The boy serving us was lovely so it is a shame but we sent back a full £30 rib eye and a £40 t-bone only to be given a £20 discount which I felt was unreasonable as like I said the meals were barely touched due to being inedible.

First visit and probably wouldn't rush to go back. The menu is limited and so I had a steak which was good however a side salad of a single (cold mushroom ) and a small pile of rocket and half a tomato wasn't exactly appealing. The seasond fries were also cold. The deserts were far better than the mains. It was an expensive night out for the quality of food we had. I should of complained but the guys who served us were really nice and I didn't want to make a fuss. We were given a 50% voucher to return but I doubt we will be using it.

Had a lovely afternoon meal with a few drinks and finished by a cocktail. Food very nice and presented. It's a shame that people are dressed up but it maybe it was mid-afternoon and people were coming in wearing sports T-Shirts, jogging bottoms and gilets! The evening maybe is better. We were served by Libby and Daisy who were great, polite and professional.

Brad was an absolute gem and made our experience the best it could have been. Great food recommendations and amazing service - could not recommend him or the food enough! Thank you Brad!

We went to The Milehouse for Sunday lunch, it was the best roast we’d had in a long time, the food was delicious. Thank yous to Jamie, Katie and Brad.

Me and some friends come on for a 23rd birthday all the service was great especially James and Bradley they really looked after us all night, James checked in with us all night and Bradley came over to us at the end of the night making sure everting was okay all the food was amazing and I couldn’t recommend the mile house more all the drinks were amazing and the bar team was great especially Shawn he really looked after us and made sure were looked after.

I went here tonight and Brad the general manager really looked after me I went my girlfriend he took us to are table and was very polite and explained to us who was looking after us our waitress was Jamie and Wes and they were also great I would recommend coming here we had the best night they made us feel really special for my girl friends 23rd birthday

Loved the food,couldn’t fault it however the service was lacking! New staff member welcomed us..understandably he was new so had to get a manager she gave us menus…but no lunch menus. Had to chase that up while she sat in office with door open and feet on a desk! Took 25 mins to get our order taken even though we were the only people in the restaurant! Opted for a desert which I had to chase the waitress for because she was ignoring us completely and getting the bill took 20 mins! Empty restaurant but 3 hours in there and having to chase staff is really not ok 😕6 times in total I had to get up and chase staff 😞

It's not a hotel so can't understand why it would show it. Very upmarket restaurant not in keeping with the area. Not a lot of food for the price and poor menu for non steak lovers

Came in a couple of weeks ago with my partner for a meal and the food was great and the service from Brad was amazing on what seemed to be a really busy night, will definitely be returning in future

Haven't been for a while, but went for our wedding anniversary. We were a bit early for our table but they sat us straight away, the service was excellent. The food came out quickly and was really nice. We had the grill club app and we were able to use an offer they had on there.

Me and my boyfriend come here all the time and the food is always great. We came here for my 21st birthday and the staff were lovely especially Wesley and Shane. They gave me a glass of free champagne and were very friendly. They both let us know how long the food would be, offered us more drinks and checked back on us whilst we were eating. They made the experience really enjoyable. The supervisor on that night was very friendly too.

We came in for a birthday treat. Wes and Becky were our servers and they made sure that everything was to our liking, checking on us regularly and ensuring that we made felt welcome. After food we had a drink at the bar area and Tyler was quick to attend us, and he also was able to recommend a few of his favourite drinks. The service and ambience was impeccable. We'll definitely be back soon :).

Lovely atmosphere but not alot of choice if you have a nut allergy as they take the item off but don't offer than alternative. Portions aren't overly large either but all in all food was tasty

Booked an impromptu date night and it’s the first time I’ve been to the Milehouse! It was super busy when we turned up on a Saturday night but service was surprisingly quick, the starters came out fast and were really nice, my husband and I both had steaks and my husband said it was one of the nicest steaks he’s had, I had the port and Stilton sauce with mine which was really nice, good choice on mocktails too I had a frozen one which was really refreshing, would definitely return

Came here with my family for my 60th Birthday meal, apart from the 2 ladies at the bar, the overall customer service was terrible, the food was awful I ordered seabass as am not a redmeat or pork eater, why would you have small cubes of bacon!! in it, desert took forever people even cancelled their desert orders. it was annoying we had forwarded them everyone's choices a week beforehand 19 of us .No one came to check if anything was needed I didn't even get a cupcake with a candle!!

Went to the millhouse in Newcastle under lyme to celebrate my sisters 60th Birthday..the building itself was ok,and the young lady behind the bar was,it was all downhill from there,we booked the big table for 19 people,and sent in our choices from the menu a week beforehand When we arrived and spoke to staff they informed us that he only had 15 and was adamant about this until we showed him the email showing 19 people. We were seated at 7.15 served with starters about 7.35, they cleared the table about 8.30.we had all finished the starters pretty quickly, Then another long wait for the main course 9.20,we waited again for the table to be cleared,2 staff clearing the table 2 plates per visit,then another long wait for desert,I personally found a staff member and cancelled my desert order... Have have never written a review before,but the service the we recieved was substandard,at no point during the evening did anyone come to the table and ask us anything,we were not offered any water,or hows everything going etc, the only person that offered a smile was the young lady behind the bar... The food was cold as the service. It doesn't take much to look as if your enjoying your work,but judging by the way the staff behaved,it's quite clear that they looked like they would prefer to be somewhere else.. Absolutely would not recommend eating this place, Terrible service,food wasn't good,

Certainly will not be going here again,it all went downhill after leaving the bar area,waiters did not make us feel welcomed,they were very cold,drove from manchester to celenrate my sisters 60th Birthday, its was wet and cold, The last thing you wanted to see was staff who couldnt even raise a smile for the 3hours that we were there. The starters ca.e out sharpish, Took ages to collect after we finished,the main took forever to be served,and again it took ages to collect after we finished,some of our party left before desert,considering that all our food was pre ordered a week prior. Not once did any waiters attend to ask if everything was ok,or do we need this or that. The food was mostly cold. We spent near to £700 To be treated like this,there was no customer service whatsoever. I absolutly will not be going here again and sure neither will the 19 people who attended.

Food was cold! We arrived just after 12 to be told that a chosen meal wasn't available. Food sat in the window for collection for ages, seeing as we were sat in front of the window I was tempted to collect my food myself! Mains didn't all come out at the same time. Everyone's mains were cold. One of our party ordered the T bone steak and it was so cold the blue cheese butter wouldn't melt. Chicken wasn't fully cooked. We won't be back.

First time at The Milehouse with family who live locally (we are from Carlisle). Meal was good, cocktail and wine delicious but service by Poole was first-class. Made our evening. Sure we will return.

Jamie was our server and was absolutely outstanding, he went above and beyond constantly!! always checked in with us, made us feel welcome and comfy, we came for our anniversary dinner and as a little treat, and he made it well and truly special, we can't thank him enough. For it being his first shift as well, was truly astonishing, Jamie, you have a fantastic work ethic and you will go far!! thank you so much for your dedication to making us feel welcome

The Milehouse is a true jewel in Newcastle’s crown. The decor, atmosphere, food and staff are fantastic. We took my daughter for mocktails for her 10th birthday and the staff were so wonderful, we were totally blown away! They even wrote a birthday card for her! So grateful to have this eatery near to us. Thank you to all the staff, we’ll see you soon!

Had a lovely birthday meal there with my hubby, food was lovely and the service and the staff were excellent.would have liked a bit of different background music to match the ambience of the place .However that is personal choice

Celebrated an anniversary here, lovely atmosphere and food was spot on. I couldn’t believe how quickly all three courses came out! Our waitress Bailey was absolutely fabulous, her lovely personality along with her fab hosting skills really contributed to a lovely evening. Thank you all and would definitely recommend!

We celebrated a Golden Wedding Anniversary here, the food, service and decor was absolutely 1st class. The staff were fantastic. We would definitely recommend and will be returning soon.

Amazing place to eat. Outstanding decor, real classy touch to it. Got a free drink on arrival for my girlfriends birthday which was a nice touch. The food is class tho, well presented and great pricing, have to say tho the Teriyaki sauce was the best ive ever had, cant have enough of it. Would highly recommend this place!

Went to The Milehouse today for lunch. The experience as a whole was amazing - this including the food and service. Grace was our server and she was polite and lovely. 100% recommend for a relaxed dining experience.

Far from a standard dining out. It started off with some great drinks, and very friendly bar team, but sad to know that was the only good thing about our wrecked anniversary meal. Hence why the 2* Extremely bad service, our host told us about our waiter name etc expecting to get that good customer service, however we only ordered the drinks to her and paid the bills and both were wrong. We never got asked if we want more drinks, if we’ve had a good meal at the end, nobody double checked the table once the food arrived (not just ours but the other 3 tables around us) which is expected in a place like this. Nevermind the food, which everything was far from average, Luke warm food , we've seen it waiting on the pass ages, plus cold chips. We ordered pork belly and the beef, both an average plate of food with a carrot and a broccoli, and the smallest piece of pork. Extremely disappointing to see this place going worse just as the Staffordshire grill went downhill too as it used to be our favourite. Review posted also on Tripadvisor.

See they've taken down my daughter's review. We certainly didn't have the same experience as reviews shown. Wondered why the restaurant was so empty at 12.30pm on Sunday lunchtime. When meal arrived it was obvious. Never had raw carrots and brocoli and cold cauliflower for a Sunday lunchtime meal before. Certainly won't be going again.

Kitchen staff were outside on arrival, one chap with his hands down the back of his trousers. Meal was cold and uncooked. One member of the young kitchen staff was swearing whilst near service hatch and on mobile phone. Hands were used instead of utensils to put food on plates. Was really looking forward to treating my mum but felt awful.

Visited here for a meal and had a great evening here, the venue is lovely and atmospheric, the food and drinks were amazing, staff were all very friendly and our waitress ‘Bailey’ was brilliant,

We had a room here for my wife’s birthday and what a perfect experience! Perfect room, perfect food and superb staff! Bailey, Daisy, Alisha and Scarlett went above and beyond to make it a special night and I can’t thank them enough as they were amazing!

I visited the Milehouse for lunch today with my husband and 6 year old son. We enjoyed a delicious meal with starters and mains. Thank you Bailey for taking such great care of us. She was very attentive and friendly. :) I would definitely recommend the Milehouse to others. Great ambiance too.

First time visiting this place and we had a great experience. We were greeted straightaway by Shane who showed us to our table. He appeared a few moments later with a glass of fizz as he’d been told it was my birthday. He realised we’d ordered alcohols free drinks and immediately asked if I would prefer a mocktail instead. It was delicious! Bailey served us at our table and was extremely professional and polite. The food was fantastic and the two members of staff we met clearly have a passion for customer service! We will absolutely be back again! Thank you.

I visited the restaurant today (30/07) and was immediately impressed with the ambience of the restaurant and vibrant crowd. I received a warm welcome from the staff and all of them were friendly. The food was excellent, a good portion size, very tasty and arrived at the table promptly. At times the speed of the service was a little slow (I put this down to a few members of staff covering a huge area in sweltering conditions) but Hannah and Alisha who served me delivered a high quality standard of customer service so can't fault them. I would definitely recommend visiting this establishment

First time here a won't be the last 😁we went a table of 4 around 5pm on Friday we did not book , we was greated and seated near the kitchen it was not that busy understandable at that time of day. We was asked about allergies straight away which was good, we got our drinks a food came around 15 min we had 2 belly pork which my friends enjoyed and fish a chips and I had the burger, the burger sauce was delicious a the burger was too. We then had sweets 1 lemon meringue 1 crumble and 1 chocolate fudge cake they went down well. The place is very nice inside and waiting on service was excellent the food prices are on par as most. Thanks for a lovely meal it was my birthday meal a one I fully enjoyed. 😁

I have visited several times and have had lovely food hence the revisit. But the last couple of visits have been less than average I’m afraid . We go out for dinner every weekend and visited yourself on Friday 26th July. The service wasn’t great at all when I asked for what gins or vodka were available she went back and forth instead of just bringing us a drinks menu. So I ended up ordering a cup of tea. I ordered rump steak and it was so chewy, and the chips were burnt . The sauce had no taste to it at all!! My husband sent his back it was inedible. And when he tried to bring your attention to it, you sounded annoyed I always prefer to give you the benefit of rectifying as anybody can have a bad day. So we won’t be revisiting.

Went for lunch. Nice food, service was a bit slow, but that was okay, and they had a card/drink for the person celebrating their graduation. Can't comment on location as we don't normally go there.
