Unassuming pub that’s serving several well kept ales. There was a local ukulele group doing a practice session in lounge when I popped in which added to the ambience. Apologies if I’ve got that wrong guys but it was very nice. Also has a darts board. 🍻 🎯 🎻

Railway built old fashioned pub with working class clientele. Good choice of beers popular for darts and good to socialise. Regular meeting place for informal music gatherings. As with many older establishments, there are changes in floor level to negotiate. Food not sold here.

Perhaps the most unfriendly experience that I’ve ever had in a Stockport pub that I’ve visited for the first time — but that doesn’t involve all of the patrons by any means. Just a bit of a pointless place to have as a pub if you don’t want the public in there. Anyway, the smoking area had a couple of interesting things in it — that was worth my pint in there… which was difficult enough to order. “Do you do Guinness”? — “No, we don’t do anything like that here” — “Well, do you do stout?” — “Yes, we do this” — “Well, can I have a taster of that, please?” — “We don’t do tasters here”. What a disgrace

Midland is one of the good pubs in Stockport and can't fault Mark the landlord for being welcoming

I pop into the Midland every couple of weeks or so. It's a proper old school pub which is a welcome relief. The current vogue for foodie pubs is fine but sometimes you just want a few pints,a packet of crisps and nothing else. The pub has it's quota of regulars and is a nice place to visit if you fancy a pint by yourself with a bit of bustle in the background.

Fantastic food as always. You get what you pay for guys as they say.....my fillet steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and so tender. I would add a photo but it didn't stay on my plate long enough....

Just go. If you like good beer, just go. When you're there and you feel that "proper pub" feeling you're right, it is. Just go😃 PS. The Oakham Inferno was lovely tonight 😋

One of the key pubs on the 'Stockport Slope', this together with nearby Hope, Railway, and Magnet provide a huge number of excellent cask ales. The Midland dates from 1833, and was recently saved from demolition to make way for a road scheme. This has allowed pub owner, Mark to begin a sympathetic and tasteful refurbishment of the pub. It consists of three rooms: bar to the left, a large comfortable lounge to the right, and a games room behind that. A small beer garden lies to the side. Four cask ales usually on, with very good value of £2.50 pint across the board. Highly recommended.

Friendly local in the Northern quarter of Stockport. Original features in the Victorian architecture. A Camra pub with an ever changing variety of ales. Entertainment at weekends.

Locals seemed friendly enough and we chatted to a few but this pub clearly caters for a specific niche, there was plenty of boxing talk, clearly a favourite of the locals. Beer was cheap and the pub overall was decent.

First visit to WTLGI after trying for months and months to book a table. It was well worth the wait. The food, the wine flight and the amazing service from all staff members was personal i have never been to a restaurant and been seeved by every visible member of staff with such a wealth of knowledge about what they were delivering to the table. What we can only describe as a phenomenal experience in a vibrant setting. I have a massive phobia of pears (mad i know) so when the dessert was delivered and there sat a conference pear I almost landed it onto my husbands plate but no I ate it and I'm so glad I did as Jess certainly knows how to create a food explosion in the mouth. It was delivered with a cake a crumble and a broth custard and in my opinion the absolute best dessert I've ever had. I can't say anything more about this hidden from sight gem. We will be back.

Been in a few times sometimes it's Buzzing Full Great Atmosphere 👍🏻 but Tuesday afternoon was a bit Quiet but staff fine in the Crown clean Tidy 👌 👍🏻 I would never eat in there as its a Dogs pub and Food and Dogs 🐕 Should never be in Same Place so myself will never eat anywhere that allows Dogs 🐕 in Food places , unhygienic, no consideration to people with Allergies to Pets and Dogs have a smell to them especially when wet
