The Merry Hill in Wolverhampton

Fantastic meal there today, my Hunters Chicken was perfectly cooked, and my partner enjoyed his mixed grill. Service is always efficient and friendly here. One small criticism was the mayonnaise on our table was a week out of date - lucky we noticed before using it. But this is a minor oversight and certainly not worth knocking a point off.

Great time out at the mezza. Great atmosphere with alot of choices of cocktails and ciders. Friends and myself enjoyed our time. Defo come again.

Food disappointing peas very hard. Chicken chewy and cool. Chips very crisp mostly inedible. Bacon incinerated. Would not recommend and will not be visiting again

We eat here periodically despite not living in the area . Visiting relatives for catch ups and shopping trips we always call in for our lunch . You can depend on getting a good meal at a reasonable cost and very quickly served . Always a consistently good meal , the place is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and welcoming .

Last of the 40% off dinners (!) and whilst the food was good, the atmosphere was a bit meh. We were seated towards the back of the Pub in the community lounge, and the lighting whilst ambient, was a tad dark when you’re eating or trying to read the menu! Food was served quickly and it was well cooked and tasted great. Not sure if it’s a Sizzling Pubs thing, but does every TV have to be stuck on Sky Sports?? First and last visit for us I think.

We regularly visit and always have a great experience! The staff are always so welcoming and we’ve never got anything to complain about. The manager, Simon, has really turned the place around and we now love bringing our family here.

Wow, this place is unreal. The manager Simon could not make me feel more at home. He made us laugh every time we went to the bar and the customer service from the rest of the staff (sophie/heather) was sublime. The music and atmosphere was everything you would want on a Friday night! They have amazing tributes on throughout the month. A real good find in Wolverhampton. Highly recommend. Also, the drinks are an amazing price for the current climate. Great work to everyone at the Merry Hill.

Very poor service, incredibly rude staff, and management whilst serving and call you s*l*u*ts when you leave, the food is ok for the price, if they get it right, (which will be your fault) cocktails are good value but don’t expect to get the same...

It's an alright pub the tables are always sticky but they have a nice choice of drinks and food. Service is good. If you don't like big crowds and lots of noise don't go on a friday or sat night

We visited the Merry Hill last Saturday for my granddaughter's 4th birthday. It was held in the community room which was free to book, a nice gesture I thought. There were pros and cons to the visit. Pros:- It's a very nice place having undergone a refurbishment and it has a convivial atmosphere with friendly staff.

Our first visit for over 20 years. Yes there were a few smokers at entrance but very friendly and moved to help my husband who was pushing my mother in law in wheelchair into pub and held door open. Although we are none smokers we firmly believe that people are entitled to smoke somewhere as they obviously cannot smoke inside the premises.The staff were very helpful and food was hot and very good value.

The manager was unnecessarily rude to my friend over a misunderstanding. We weren't given chance to explain that he had made a mistake before he told my friend to "f" off.. Accused her of "causing trouble" the week before (she hadn't visited previously for months) and barred us when we politely protested! I am acutely angered and outraged... This was simply a case of mistaken identity and the reaction was abusive. Will NEVER visit again.

The food here was ok very standard pub food, the staff were nice & it was very cheap but the quality of what we had was not great but for what you pay it's ok

Thought I would treat the wife to dinner, very bad idea !!! Ordered the duck sizzling platter got none ! Reordered the koftas got none tried prawn starter unsuccessfully again last chance was meatballs guess what yes your right I am afraid we have none of that either as well .. there is a spar across the road for god sake .... no issue with the service but will never return....

I would like to say a great well done to the merry hill we haven’t visited for a while but this evening our food was piping hot presented lovely and not just thrown on the plate and fast and all down to the new chef I suspect whom’s uniform was actually clean ! If she stays we will definitely return and I will recommend would love to know the young girls name next time we visit

Very nice breakfast, cooked fresh. Reasonably priced, helpful and friendly staff. The manager and young girl that work weekday mornings are always happy to help and welcoming. Beer is also good priced and the new smoking shelter is brilliant

Went for breakfast this morning and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Best breakfast I've had. Compliments to the chef.i will definitely be returning here again

Easter Thursday we decided to take grandchildren out for a meal. The pub was packed and a bit noisy. We toyed with going somewhere else but kids wanted to stay. A table was cleared for us and the floor, as the last occupants had left their kids food everywhere, why don't people check when they have children or do they not care ? The staff were lovely, even though they were busy. The food was freshly cooked and piping hot. Somehow one of the meals got mixed up and because one of the children had to wait the barmaid gave her a free coke. How nice was that ? We would go again as we all enjoyed it.

The Merry Hill is our local so we use it very regularly, the food is always good and freshly cooked. The staff are friendly and efficient. The prices are very reasonable. The only criticisms, the decor is a little bit shabby and smokers frequent the entrance in bad weather..

We went in for Saturday lunch. Was ok for a local pub, however, the staff made a massive difference. We ordered a drink & sat down. Leonie came over & had a chat, she is so friendly & welcoming. We had a voucher & ordered 2 sizzling meals, I had the Hallumui, which was absolutely fab. Thanks Jordan. A lovely Saturday afternoon.

After having a break from going into the Merry Hill I was pleased to see that things have got a lot better, the service had improved and the drinks were Good, unfortunately I can't comment personally regarding the food as I've not participated in that area. A lot of trouble makers have been barred from the premises so the atmosphere has much improved. It was nice to see drinking buddies again.

My wife, granddaughter and I visited The Merry Hill Center in June since my granddaughter is a shopaholic. We try and visit Merry Hill on each visit to England since it is a one stop location for shopping and restaurants. If you cannot find what you are looking for at Merry Hill you don't need it. Always clean and well maintained. Parking is ample. Always enjoy visiting. Something for everyone.

The service was really good quick and polite but the food let it down had better frozen food from aldi. Plus the decor is abit tired and needs updating.

The staff are lovely, Jenny Simon Leonie and Sophie were very helpful. Both the steaks we had were delicious and the drink selection is really good. Always enjoy my visit would defo recommend X

Merry Hill is usually very busy day or night time. It has cheap food and drinks.The décor is basic, tables usually dirty.

To say it's gone down hill is an absolute understatement !!Dirty , full of undesirable clients , drunks drugs screaming kids poor service what more can you say I wouldn't even pick a menu up let alone order food ! Avoid this place at all costs Unless it's raining and you need shelter waiting for a bus ! Needs a complete refurb and a strict manager who can manage the riff raff staff & clients !

Myself and my family drink in the merryhill everyday and we find it very welcoming and the staff are pleasant my partner and daughter have food quite often and have always enjoyed it we will continue to use the merryhill and give our support.

Used to be a big fan of this pub but recently, a lot of my friends and family have been finding new places to eat and drink as we feel it is going down hill dramatically. Manager is rude and will continue to lose his customers if he doesn't speak to people in a correct, professional appropriate manner. Food is average but nicer food is available very near by for example in the chestnut or the bradmore which both have friendly management and nice atmospheres.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food was very delicious and was good value for money. I will definitely be returning

Haven't been in The Merryhill since probably before Xmas and was really chuffed to find many changes have taken place including dark fruits on draught alongside all the other beers- 3 real ales to choose from including doom bar - an absolute favourite of ours. Also the management have installed a big screen projector got sky sports AND BT Sports and tarted up the garden. I've always felt that the Merryhill is a drinkers pub and still has that feel and we also noticed live entertainment has been introduced HOWEVER we decided to grab a beer and a burger on this visit and WOW ! It was great value for money and really tasty. I think me and my friends will be making the Merryhill the place to watch the footie from now on.

I was a regular customer in The Merry Hill, used to be a good place and staff were very friendly, the food was good for a pub chain,But with a numerous changes of management and staff the standards have declined considerably and the friendless has quality of the food has declined even, it's shows food quality details on the door shows 5, but the amount of food taken back due to under cooking and being cold in the middle has increased.The Merry Hill is rapidly declining in to the establishment before the major refurbishment it went through a long time ago, with trouble makers returning to the establishment and the new manager has actively help in the decline in the short period he's been there.

Portion was just nice though some might say a tad small. For the price, definitely can't complain.Good selection of ales. Husband had the surf and turf with peppercorn gravy and I had the rib and chicken combo. Mine was a bit dry but gravy helped. The ribs were almost fall-off-the-bone tender and still had some firmness to it.

We note from the other reviews that they are mostly all locals. We chanced upon this pub whilst looking for an early supper - how we wish we hadn't. The place was not very clean and pretty unsavoury. The toilets probably had not been touched for quite a while. The drink prices were good but the quality of the food was dubious to say the least. Will not be going back.

Today my son and I visited this establishment. we normally to be honest visit The Chestnut every week and have done for many years. The food today was one of the best meals I have had for many many years. as a family we eat out at least two times a week at different places. The chicken was awesome and the food was hot and tasty. credit where credit is due.The pub may not be the most decorative place but the staff were kind helpful and amazing grub.

Had the mixed grill fantastic, cousin had the steak,both of us enjoyed every bit,also great beer.Both meals and drink at very reasonable prices.

A great pub for family, friends and the lone visitor, the food is great, sizzling steak and chips, staff very friendly, a great location for the football with a nice large garden for the kids to run around in.

Visited the Merry Hill sizzler recentlyFirst time I had visited so didn't know what to expect, the staff were really friendly and delivered top notch customer service, nothing was too much trouble, food was excellent and VFM We will definitely visit again and would recommend this venue to anyone wishing to have a good meal which doesn't cost the earth delivered by friendly and helpful staff

Me and some friends decided to try out the sizzling menu and then watch the England game.The food was good, (usual sizzling standard) steaks are always good at the sizzler chain.We then watched the England World Cup game and the atmosphere was good and the bar staff served us quickly even when busy

we fell onto this pub while going out for a meal , we only had drinks but all the staff were very friendly , quick service and the drinks prices were fantastic , i would def go back for food next time :)

Unfortunately we all (3) had steak..16 oz rump..ordered medium rare..was overdone..7oz sirloin had at least 2-3 ozs of gristle/fat..and the rib eye..which we paid extra for ..although cooked nicely..was far too tough for rib eye..!!!..Retort from waiting staff..'sorry, must be the cuts of meat..!!'...unsatisfactory..!!!!!..no return visit here then..!!!!!!

Good food well presented with a reasonable choice and average price. Also had the usual choice of beers and other drinks.

I have had a few takeaways from Indigo and enjoyed them.The restaurant food is well worth trying.While choosing what to eat, one of the staff - a friendly and helpful one at that - brought some pots of different curry sauces for us to try.This was a very good idea as Indian menus can be a bit daunting - it is not easy to imagine how the sauces would taste without buying the dish first!I actually chose one of the sauces for my main and it was very nice - it had a slightly rich taste which I enjoy.I would happily go there again.

I visited the Merry Hill last week for a meal with my family. On the 2 previous occasions I visited, the food has been pretty appalling to be quite honest. I was expecting much more of the same but it was really very good. I 'm aware that the managers have changed a couple of times in the last couple of months and it appears to be paying dividends.There were 8 adults and 2 children, and the bill came to £45! Pretty impressive! I had the spicy piri piri chicken which was lovely, and also tried the cheesy chips and the sausage. It was lovely and everybody enjoyed it. Three things I would say are, the kids sausage and mash didn't look the most appetising at all; my brother had the shake & sizzle chicken combo and said that the wings were very, very dry, but he liked the hot rocks!; & the carpet i the corridor that leads to the toilets appeared to squelch under foot.....Other than that, it's a nice place with a good atmosphere and a good selection of drinks.

Great times are had in here, everything about the place is top notch
