First time visitor food was good service good to definitely go again.

Came in for a meal on Saturday evening brilliant food. Great service from all members of staff. Highly recommend to others.

Dropped in for one drink, had three ale pumps, two were "conditioning". So the choice was London Pride. Absolutely awful, left half. If I had more time, I would have complained.

It was clean Improvement definitely needed no one came to check if our food was ok which it wasn’t it was not piping hot any of it the steaks were not done to how we asked the sides were left sitting there as when we had them you could see that the Mac cheese was dry and hunters chips were barely luke warm upon leaving no staff members were about to put in a complaint we didn’t want to hang around due to have 2 special needed children there and it wasn’t a busy pub so it wasn’t over run with customers so either way it was probably understaffed but more staff needed to check up on diners

This large pub is a mixed bag. At one end there is a bar area complete with a huge TV screen showing sport and also noisy opinionated punters whose language would make a trooper blush. A safer place is around the corner in a wide and long room. The seating here is more plentiful and comfortable with an eclectic clientele. It can be noisy and boisterous and lively here with live music at the weekends. At the far end there is a games room having a popular Poole table. There is a good reasonably priced menu that majors on chips with everything. A decent range of beers, lagers, spirits, wines is always available. A lively pub at weekends but quieter in the week. The staff vary a bit but most can be polite. So, an interesting pub, not to everyone's taste but its local for me and served good Guinness! Enjoy!

We din at the merry hill on a regular basis, the service has always been very good, quick and friendly. The meals we have had, we’ve never had a problem with, they are just as we have ordered and very fast service. We always order at the table which is fast and without any problems. Would recommend.

Staff were really friendly, was served by Connor and Will. Food was lovely and hot and enjoyable. Prices were expected.

we went to meet up with friends. me and partner decided to get food. we spent £30+ and were so disappointed. he ordered a chicken burger with egg and bacon and the chips were cold and the bun was so burnt it ruined the taste. I ordered scampi and again the chips were cold. we ordered some cheesy garlic bread and that was burnt. we waited for someone to come and ask if everything was OK like they do in every other place that serve food but no one came. we decided to just eat it as we were starving and left. very disappointed

Good beer, consistently good food at sensible prices. Music rarely stupidly loud but when it has been the staff have been happy to adjust it. Visited again for the first time in ages and it's still great. AND DOGS ARE NOW ALLOWED INSIDE!!! I really appreciate that change, thanks Merry Hill!! Add on: we went for Christmas dinner. Yum. Really generous portions such that we had to take a hound bag and get dessert to take away. Best turkey EVER! Beef rib cooked perfectly. Alas, roast spuds and parsnips needed more, veg needed a lot less (and seasoning). But oh, stuffing balls! And the Yorkshire pud and blanketed pigs... I was stuffed as well. The staff were all groovy, serving dudes and dudettes and kitchen staff. Well deserving the tip I left. Thank you! (Longer for the roast spuds please!)

Great food, well worth it. Staff excellent and service prompt. My only hesitation, dont visit on a match day when wolves play if you want a quiet meal. Otherwise a very nice find

Visited 5/23 for the first time whilst visiting a relative locally. All four of us just had a main course. Everything pretty average tbh - menu, quality of food, drinks, atmosphere. Inoffensive but nothing special. Not especially expensive.

The merryhill is an awesome place. Fast delivery of food, tasted just amazing too and exceptional staff.

It isnt very often i review places this low. I havent felt so unsafe eating food in my life!! We sat down in the main restaurant area and every time someone walked around us we were literally bouncing up and down the floor was obviously unsafe and should not be used for patrons to eat on. Another horrible aspect of this restaurant is the staff and customer service. With a few exceptions the staff here are awful, with staff actively avoiding serving you and never checking up on your meal, unless you're a regular, you can forget good customer service. I need to specifically mention who i assume to be the manager, his attitude and behaviour was genuinely abhorrent, leaving the one other staff member to basically serve the entire restaurant himself, while he walked back and forth cleaning the same table for almost 40 minutes. He actively avoided serving a member of our party, and stomped everytime he walked behind us while obviously knowing the condition of the floors. Overall i would never want to eat there again, with a mixture of all the issues we had it was a genuinely awful experience. would give 0/5 if i could.

Good menu and overall service...food can be a little inconsistent in quality and everything is sticky, the floors, tables and even the chairs. Online table service is very quick. 👍

We held one of our Grandsons 21st Birthday celebrations here on Saturday lunch. Couldn't fault our experience in any way from start to finish. Pre ordered our food cos there was 14 adults and 2 children (highly recommend) The food was outstanding 👌 and the service faultless, nothing was too much trouble. WILL most definitely be returning Thank you all very much 👏👏👏

Busy locals pub with decent service

Came for lunch whilst the dog snoozed next to me. Its so great to find a dog friendly pub where a dog can actually come inside. Lovely ambience, welcoming staff. Will come in here again.

Great atmosphere, had an enjoyable night seeing Born Jovi. Very good indeed. Overall the bar staff certainly made the night with their excellent service.

Absolutely amazing food service very friendly staff the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there was no dartboard 😂 but that's just my opinion.....tbf it is a 5 star place thats welcoming ...I've added a photo too ...its called spot the dog 🐕 🤣 👌

On Saturday 20/08/2022 I ordered two salads with cheese to go I paid for them when I checked my statement I found I got charged £21.08 why do they charge you double the price for which is £10.04 for two

Fine for a quick drink but the loos always seem to be blocked & would be great if they had a play area in the back as it's a popular spot for local families

The food was cooked perfectly, the service was quick and the staff welcoming.

It was friendly and pleasant, but the coffee was terrible! Also the service slightly on the slow side and the internet even slower.

Very welcoming pub had drinks and lunch which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Only slight issue was the time it took to get the food out but overall very happy and enjoyed a great experience i would definitely recommend and return jn the future

Cheapie 2 for a tenner is excellent value for money....cheaper than putting the oven on!

Food is lovely, service is great plus they have a quiet room with tables in that can be closed off from main area which is perfect for a quieter meal for people that struggle in crowded areas

Christmas day meal when first entering it was very busy ..we were shown to a table in a section that was cordoned off ..food was amazing, staff were very attentive, atmosphere was very christmasy ...would recommend to everyone if you wanted a meal here or to come here for Christmas you will not be disappointed ..well done to the whole team on providing a amazing service xx

I work on food central and out of all the food places on the food court this is the best place there the staff are so friendly the food is so good for the price this is only place i will go for food in merry hill no place beats there food and there such kind staff there.

Nice pub, staff was rubbish.. the kitchen equipment was broken and left us an hour before we asked.

The service was good, the food however was a bit if a disappointment. The food was displayed nothing like the menu pictures. Was not cooked properly. I asked for medium rare and got rare, partner asked for well done and he got medium to well done. The only part that was nice, in my opinion, was the scampi.
