The Mermaid Inn is nestled down an old 19th century entry as you walk down High St which has a sign ' Mermaid' to guide you there. A homely little pub, with great service, good pints, clean facilities and friendly clientele. There's a nice sitting/ smoking area to the side which is good, search it out as well worth a visit!

I found this place a little odd. The staff were friendly but no women and there was horse racing on the TVs. It was more like a betting shop than a pub, which is ideal if that's your thing.

Toilets stank more so than what they should have, they look/smell like they haven't been cleaned from the place opened. Interior was quite dated, felt like I was in the 1970s, the gentleman running the table service was quite abrupt and unwelcoming to the point were it was entertaining which brings it from one star up to two stars.

Not worth a visit. City centre drinking Pub which also sells ordinary plain food which is high on price. Popular with horse racing gamblers and gaming machine addicts alike. Plain and dull decor in serious need of a redesign and imaginative renovation to justify it's nautical name. Gents toilets always smelly. In serious need of proper air conditioning. A pint of Guinness costs £4.50 and is slightly priced less than similar city centre Pubs.

I have a soft spot for this place but it's run down interior means I have to mark it down. It's not pretentious or trying to be something else. If you want a pint and watch some sport on TV then this is the place. I've never seen it overly busy, perhaps because it is quite hidden down one of Belfast's alleys. Has quite a nice outside space as well. Worth a visit for curiosity even if it's not your scene, but I do find myself drawn here whenever I'm drinking in the city centre.

Takeaway tonight disappointing, starter for 2 wasn’t enough for 2 people , the main dish sauce was like water and chips were undercooked and soggy. The high price I paid I expected much better. I wont be back.

The clerk treated us very kindly, but the food was horrible. I find it difficult to make such a bland and tasteless ramen. You can see that all the ingredients are prefabricated, to put it mildly, and the vegetables were fried and set aside (we had said that we didn't want them fried, but I suppose this may be due to the language). Also, we ordered one of the spicy ramen and it was nowhere to be found. Finally, comment that the cutlery is made of wood and that the spoon is not deep, so it is difficult to eat it. The truth is that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is used to eating ramen in quality places or to anyone with efficient taste buds.

I don't get why there is an online ordering system where the food is not ready at collection time. 3rd time in a row now. Food is nice but an order for collection at 12.30 should be ready at 12.30. I ask where it is and told to wait a few minutes. 3 people in queue being prioritised over an online order makes zero sense. People in and out quicker than me who ordered in advance. Ridiculous.
