Love this wee local business. Popped in for lunch without booking and managed to get a table. My coronation chicken panini was delicious- stuffed with filling. Hubby had the Big Breakfast- don’t think he’s going to need fed again for a few days! Service was great as usual - Monica is a gem and looks after everyone! Cakes are always amazing (made on site) and it’s difficult to make a decision what to have as everything looks so delicious 😋 🍪🧁🍰 it’s a favourite of ours. The afternoon tea is fabulous- sooo much to eat - would definitely recommend it.

Friendly, very cosy and made welcome, Breakfast was amazing , Staff couldn’t do enough for you, Monica was great and we couldn’t resist the cake selection on the way out, Definitely will return now we’ve found this hidden gem.

The staff are always lovely when we are in for a takeaway. Today we visited for a sit in breakfast. Again staff are wonderful, the place is cosy. Breakfast was delicious, scrambled eggs amazing. Excellent value, can highly recommend a visit, and it won’t be your last. It was a lady’s birthday and my older son’s. They got all the visitors and staff to sing happy birthday and brought out cake. Which was very kind of them, much to my son’s embarrassment, he still enjoyed it. All their home baking looks delicious and fantastic Thanks you are amazing

Our first visit and it definitely won't be our last..We had a warm welcome from Monica when we arrived on a cold bitter day and as she showed us our table straight away she name sure we were warm enough..and comfortable.. I had the home name soup which was served with a crispy bread roll ( buttered ) pipping hot, full of freshness and taste.and the roll topped it of. My coffee was the best I've had for a long time full of flavour and again hot..We also had a millionaire shortbread cupcake and it was fantastic, tasty and sticky just as it should be....the coffee shop was full of regular customers which Monica greated with warmth. the shop was spotless and well maintained, I can't emphasis enough that this coffee shop situated in Coatbridge is fantastic and worthy of all awards that come their way.....please go and try...you shan't be disappointed..

We passed by it so often n said the day 'right! ...let's get intae The Mad Batter fir coffee n lunch!' N we did. It did not disappoint. On entering, we just knew we were gonnae love it, because THE most amazing thing happened soon's we entered the door. A lovely, smiling happy lady (Monica) greeted the two ae us n as it was baltic ootside, directed us to the table next to the wee radiator. It was pure magic!! We ordered 2 lattes, homemade soup n crusty roll, korean bbq chicken baked tottie n 2 gorgeously presentable muffins. Ma eyes were like saucers whenna saw them 😍 n a hadtae hide ma drools🤤. We settled fir pistachio toffiffee and the millionaire shortcake caramel cupcakes. Both delicious n sweet. It's fair ae say, we left wi' foo bellies n jist wanted to fall asleep. This magical place is very homely, and feels 'dead Scottish' wi' bright fab Stephen Brown prints hung around all the walls, and visitors in the place were friendly regulars and gabbed away tae us. To boot, the place is immaculate. This will deffo be 'our place to go' fae noo oan, n we look forwardae 'gettin' mad battered wi' more delicious food, cakes n drinks n a coirse, being greeted by such lovely ladies. It was a pleasure to have lunch here today. We voted to put the shop forward for an award for it is most deserved and hope the other customers can do the same to get the shop/staff the recognition it/they all deserve. 5⭐️ Thank you ladies! Have visited regularly over the past few years. Brilliant customer service, it has become progressively busier but the ladies always have time to chat and take orders and requests, they can’t do enough for their patrons. The food is good quality, served fresh and is tasty! The menu is varied and reasonably priced and all items have allergen information clearly labelled. The cakes and sweet treats are delightful and perfect portion size. All round family favourite…we travel 20minutes to visit and it is worth it!

Visited The Mad Batter for the first time with my parents - my dad has mobility issues. What a lovely wee gem of a place! We had toasties and soup, and they are so hearty and well filled for the price. I followed it up with some cakes to take away (the game changer slice, a tablet cupcake, and a condensed milk caramel tart) - we all loved them and the tablet cupcake was a particular hit. It was shared between a few chef friends who were in heaven! I will definitely be back for more cakes at the very least and for a lunch or brekkie when I can. Well worth the wee drive.

Excellent cafe tucked away in a small industrial estate… an (almost) hidden gem! Great savoury menu, excellent coffee and delicious cakes. Will definitely come again!

Had the pleasure of visiting here a few days ago. They have quite a large menu so something to suit everyone. We tried a few of their specials, all were fab. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other dishes too, we have already picked out what we are having next! We also had the pleasure of speaking to the owner who was extremely lovely and passionate about the cafe and made us feel very welcome on our first visit especially when we are not from the area. Very happy we found this place and will definitely be popping in for some more cake in the near future xx

What a cracking cafe! Travelled all the way from Birmingham and my Scottish family took me to this fantastic place for breaky! Fully convinced that a Scot’s breakfast is better than an English! Must have the tattie scone, square sausage, link and haggis! Just lovely! Great portions, super tasty and you can bet there were empty plates all round!
