The Lounge in Carmarthenshire

Visited here for lunch, drinks came quickly but unfortunately the Saturday girl had put our food order in the wrong place...she also forgot we asked for no ice, input the wrong prices at the till and when I asked where the food was she had to come back and ask me what my question was.... The manager (possibly?!) was very apologetic, our food came quickly once we had asked, with a few freebies. The bread that was served was amazing, the wedges weren't the correct ones on the menu but I was very hungry by the time the food arrived! It has been decorated brilliantly and there is a good food and drink selection to choose from. Unfortunately the staff member let it down but if they got that right this could be a really great place!

We were in Llandeilo for the Antiques Fair and finding somewhere to eat around lunchtime turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. We bumped into some friends who live locally and they recommended the lounge. By the time we got there it was about 3pm and the place was about 40% full. As some others have pointed out, the service was a bit slap dash (forgetting to charge for items / make a note of our table number) and the bread for the sandwiches was a bit disappointing; but I had the mushroom soup which, I have to say, was the best I've ever had. We liked the interior design, although it might not be to everyone's taste. We'd definitely go again when next in the area.

My wife and I called in for lunch, ordered our food and drinks. Drinks came straight away after 35 minutes no food couple who came in after us had their food and had finished. My wife went up to ask where our food was no apologies told it would be coming, we waited another 10 minutes I went up to complain the manageress knew nothing about it and our food wasn't being done. So we left in disgust will not go there again and will tell all our friends

Staying nearby for a while, we have become regular visitors to The Lounge. Super food, including breakfast, friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Plenty of seating and No wi-fi, so people actually engaging with each other. Added bonus of the recently added deli counter and fresh food shop to take stuff home from and the lovely Davies & Co furniture / home design store above.

Spent an extremely enjoyable evening tasting wine and sampling Chef Michelle's delicious canapés. Fabulous food.

Lovely looking cafe, with what looked an interesting menu. But how looks can be deceiving. I ordered the bacon sandwich with the triple fried chips , my wife the cheese board. Given the feel of the place I was expecting thick farmhouse type bread, filled with rashers of bacon. I expected the chips to be crispy and fluffy inside. Instead I got two slices of cheap supermarket bread, a few thin cut slices of streaky. With it was a few green leaves with some balsmic and, oddly, two giant tortilla chips. Why they were there I cannot say. The chips were crispy and brown on the outside, but the insides were filled with fat. I squeezed one and the fat came dripping out. Inedible and sent back and refunded. The cheese board had two tiny quarters of camembert , smaller than a craft dairy slice, a few cubes of red cheese cut as if for a child's party, and some blue with an odd brown crust. The bread was either stale or had been put in the toaster for a few seconds so it was hard. The only good thing was the chutney. All this for just under 25.00 with tea and a drink. If they spent as much time on the food as the decor this place would be great, but they haven't.

Great place for lunch with excellent food clearly using local produce The shop is a real find with lovely interior design items usually found on our trips to London or Oxford The layout and atmosphere is a credit to the owners Staff very friendly and helpful Tapas night and event in planning during our lunch stop one place we will definitely be visiting again regularly

Beautiful place, had a coffee and gorgeous lunch of a salad which was stunning and my husband had a lovely sandwich in perfect surroundings served by lovely people, highly recommend and a hidden gem so get there and then go and buy something wonderful for your home, how could you not love it?! Food and shopping 😍

Beautiful furniture and building, could refurb the whole house with what they sell! Great menu, the Buddha bowl and lasagna are my favourites. The staff were very friendly too. Highly recommend and will call back again soon!

Lovely quirky place. Really well converted. Great menu. Great service. 10 out of 10. Lovely choice of hot and cold drinks and smoothies. Great range of cakes and options for gluten free requirements. Gluten free cheesecake was amazing.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Decided to have tomato and basil soup. When it came it was brown in colour which I didn’t expect. It didn’t taste of tomato or basil either. Very disappointing especially as it cost almost £7. We also had a small portion of bread and cheese with it whilst the table next to us had large portions. We certainly won’t eat there again.

Fantastic setting but disappointing food. Excellent for coffee and cake, but won't be going back there for lunch.

I went to the lounge with my son and we had hot chocolates which were lovely and chocolatey, we started to feel hungry so ordered a chicken club sandwich which we shared as it was huge. It was so tasty, so many flavours. Very good value for money. I would highly recommend this place, friendly staff, great out side seating and a fantastic shop full of great hand crafted furniture. Well worth a visit.

Ate at the lounge when visiting the rustic furniture shop attached. Firstly, it was very covid safe. It complies with all covid regulations and feels a safe place to be but is still stylish and welcoming. Sat on beautiful furniture outside (all furniture is for sale in the adjacent shop) and were welcomed by a bilingual staff member which is great to see! Our food arrived quickly and was really great. I ordered a sausage and caramelised onion baguette with salad and crisps on the side which was delicious. The chef is obviously talented. I then had a gooey Nutella chocolate cake which was also amazing. The coffee was really nice and everything was done to a high standard. In the past (before covid restrictions) I have sat inside the building for coffee and it’s really cosy and chic in there. It’s also a great way of seeing what the furniture for sale looks like in a “lounge” setting which is cool. The new barn area looks great but yet to be able to sit in there for food due to covid restrictions. If it’s anything like the Rest of the place it’ll be really impressive. The staff were all lovely and it generally feels like a comfortable place to treat yourself and then have a mooch in the shop. It feels upmarket but it’s still affordable which is always a plus!
