Sunday lunch was excellent, beef cooked just right and plenty of it. Service as always excellent. Great value for money

Fantastic pub, staff always friendly and helpful. I am a local customer and always love coming here for a drink and a bite to eat. They also have great entertainment nights, quizzes and bingo etc. Would highly recommend! :-)

This Christmas was the first time we had eaten out on Christmas Day and we decided to head to the Longacre as we live local and it’s walking distance. Upon arrival we were sat down by the usual super polite staff and our food started to come. Perfectly organised and timed. The staff were efficient and so pleasant despite being at work Christmas Day! The food exceeded our expectations and we later found that the food was actually fresh and not the “microwave meals” a lot of people expect from a chain pub. The present for each child was a lovely touch and we left very happy with our choice. Every time we visit the Longacre, we always have a good experience. The staff are brilliant and Matty the manager seems very dedicated to his position - and very good at it too! I think it always shows when staff are treated correctly by the staff turnover, it’s the same Emily faces every visit! (I do seem to be a bit confused about the comments in regards to the new having to go up to the bar to order rule. Not sure what the deal is other than laziness.)

We used to come here regularly for lunch, but they stopped the option of ordering at the table and there was a long wait at the bar. So we stopped visiting. We decided to give it an another try because we were nearby. I think it is even worse now, long waits and poor service, with increased prices. My husband wanted chicken burger, no bun and no salad, but was charged £2 for a portion of peas. The wait for service was interminably long. It has given me a lot of time to write this review. The food wasn’t good when it did arrive. That’s it, I won’t be returning, a pity because I used to like it. The Marstons in Guisborough, the Voyager is much better. This place is best avoided.

Poor service, extremely long wait to order and receive food. We used to be regulars, but never again. The food was not worth the wait. They don’t have enough staff. When I made an official compliant after waiting 50 minutes from ordering food they did refund food cost

I entered this establishment with the impression my looks were not a problem, I was astounded at the fact I was treated with blatant disrespect and horrible attitude due to my height and looks. Just because I'm a gorgeously attractive 6 feet 8 inches doesn't mean I need to be treated like an animal. I expect better from people at thr long acre, especially the waitress with the blonde fringe who had the audacity to "make a move" on me as I was just reading my feminist literature with a small cider (I'm not a big drinker by the way). Please do better, food was amazing and atmosphere was beautiful. Thank you, kind 6'8 customer.

Now I've eaten at this place more times than I can remember and never had a bad meal. I love my food and definitely know the difference between "Joe average" food and real tasty "come back for more" food! I've eaten all over the world and in some very expensive establishments. So how did The Longacre stack up? I was a little worried that I'd made a mistake with negativity ringing in my ears. How wrong could I be. The food was amazing, presentation of the starter was a little strange but the food could not be faulted. Main course (lamb shank) cooked to perfection, accompanying veg, just how I like it, with a slight bite to it, no mush in sight. Gravy.......well, I'd bottle that and sell it over the counter! Service was first class, food arrived for each course, together and hot. Always with a smile, drinks were flowing and always someone on hand to get them. You can not improve on the service and quality of the food and occasion. The Manager and Kitchen, bar and service staff performed flawlessly. The bar has been set as high as it can go, although the piped Christmas music was a little solemn for my taste. Overall then, it's a no brainer, I'll be doing the same next year! 👍

We went here with our family for Christmas lunch, we were a party of 18 and everything was on point and worth every penny. Thank you so much for making our Christmas dinner out very special.

Me and my nana had booked for Xmas dinner we confirmed the day before but on the day she was too unwell to visit, the two members of staff were amazing even though they were so busy and their manager Matthew was the best he was so busy it was a really long day but he didn't forget about me and let the nicest voicemail and then called the next day with a full refund minus deposit of course thank you so much Matthew and the team at long acre Skelton you did an amazing job thank you and merry Christmas

Great friendly service, clean and tidy, really tasty food, I recommend the ribs (fully stacked) worth every penny. Today was Surf and turf for me, I'd have preferred proper prawns and not battered prawn balls (sounds painfully if your a prawn) KO Mrs had the Pepperoni pizza and said it was the conkers. Good selection of beverages both alcohol and non alcoholic. Yup, all in all, very nice indeed. I was too busy eating to take photos this time. Update I've just had Christmas dinner (3 course) Christmas selection. What can I say? There's not enough stars on here to rate it. Food was more than plentiful, perfectly cooked. Was hot when it got to the table. Service was fantastic, always someone near to get drinks etc. I've now found my perfect alternative to Christmas at home with all the trimmings. Spot on. Rachel my barmaid was extremely courteous welcoming and a consummate professional. She was engaging friendly and warm whilst dealing with multiple customers at once. Very impressive.

What a nice welcome being a single female it can be quite intimidating going into a pub on your own but was greeted at the door by the landlord matt taken to a table by the window as asked. Dinner was steak and all the trimming my treat to myself for my birthday. Will certainly be going back again.

Breakfast with Santa is always amazing at The Longacre but this year tops the other years we have booked. The staff were organised, efficient and lovely to all of us, especially the children and as a party of 11 it's not easy! Already looking forward to next year x

Longacre looked very festive, warm and welcoming. Four of us arrived for lunch and were directed to our table by a pleasant member of staff. Ordering was easy at the bar and our meals arrived in good time, served efficiently. The food was very tasty and a member of staff came to ask if we had everything we needed. We all enjoyed our meals. The Lunch Menu proved to be just what we wanted, at very reasonable prices.

Booked for a party of 19 at relatively short notice, If I could give 10/10 I definitely would I highly recommend this little gem of a pub/restaurant, our food was fabulous exactly as we ordered (some of the children are fussy eaters) starters mains and desserts were all prompt and very delicious , if you haven’t tried it I definitely recommend you do! We will be back soon 🌟

Greeted at the door by the always happy and helpful dave,showed us to our table for the day.lovely clean table and cutlery etc. Prosecco brought to the table as ordered.waiting staff always attentive and polite,always helpful,table cleared quickly between courses,and a nice gap between courses.a little extra between main course and desert. Easy to catch there eye for extra drinks even though they were busy ,and the bill brought straight away when asked for.a lovely day ,and would not hesitate to recommend matty dave and the rest of the amazing staff at this lovely pub.we are very fortunate to have this establishment close to hand.thank you.

Had a lovely large Sunday lunch, purchased extras and it was all fresh, tasty, cooked well, a good plateful and lots of options to choose from, staff were polite accommodating and attentive, overall a good experience.

Nice place ,inviting entrance ,bright and roomy. Staff very polite and attentive . Good pint of guiness,ordered Sunday lunch large with extra roast potatoes and pugs in blankets. Beef was cooked perfectly, and 3 large slices . Given extra Yorkshire pudding as ordered large ,vegetables very good and plenty of carrots ,broccoli and mashed potatoes. Also red cabbage which a nice addition, small pot of tartar sauce ,only down side was the gravy which was tasteless and obviously packet mix spoilt the dinner for me but otherwise was good ,would I go back ,yes hopefully they have improved the gravy

Booked Sunday lunch for 4 people.We chose beef which was so tender and plenty of it veg was all fresh produce and not over cooked.Yorkshire puds were huge and delicious plus plenty of gravy supplied.. Jack and Young girl with long dark hair served us(cannot remember her name) were attentive polite and friendly. Would certainly reccommend and will visit again

Being very honest we only visited for a Covid jab.However, we were met just inside the door by a pleasant young lady who asked if we were eating.On answering no she showed us into an area set aside for the injections. Both my Wife & myself commented on the fact that how welcoming and pleasant the Longacre appeared and that we will definately make a point of visiting for a meal & drink.Will both look forward to it.

Had a gorgeous meal here today Reasonable prices and kids eat for £1 for half term which is an amazing deal. The service was spot on and place was nice and clean. Will be back soon

It’s a favourite local for me and my wife, and on her birthday, we came here as we often do. The food is consistently perfect, the staff are lovely, look great and appear happy within their workplace which absolutely shows - and above all, I made a random request at the bar to have someone come and embarrass my wife on her birthday. A staff member happily obliged by coming and singing happy birthday to her, complete with a candle on top of her cake. She was awesome, and the pub owner is involved, often present and very friendly. Cannot recommend this local gem enough. We have been many times before and will certainly be attending many times in the future.

everything spot on with the place its self, staff where great who surved us, some staff looked like they didnt want to be their, last thing my food was a 100% i had chicken burger, the 2 steaks where cooked perfect but where very stringy as and chewy so i think you lost couple of steak eaters in our group. but over all enjoyed it would go back again but no steaks !

Popped in for some food and it was excellent

Friendly greeting and we were given a choice of seating choosing a window seat in the sunshine. Used the app for the first time and on submitting the order a member of staff came over and checked with us and made sure we had ordered everything we needed which was reassuring and a nice touch. The drinks and meals were delivered very promptly and were hot and very nice. The overall experience was experience was excellent.

Continuously barking dog meant we had to move tables before even ordering, so not a great start. The food was pretty lacklustre. The doner kebab was nice, but a bit overpriced. Not a massive portion and didn't have exactly what was promised on the menu. Could do with a side of coleslaw or something for £14. Tuna melt sandwich had barely any filling and the baguette was dry and almost burnt. Again, very expensive for the portion. No salad or coleslaw, just baguette and chips for £10. My partner was pretty disappointed with it. The service was fine, but you're ordering off your phone, so that cuts out much of the interaction. We won't be rushing back.

Decent food ,we tookbadvantage of the discount vouchers offered otherwise we would have felt the meals aren't really worth the full asking price. Beer and drinks seem on tge expensive side £6 for a Pint of Morretti. Overall yeah its decent Pub grub.

Food quality shockinly poor. We had Sunday Roast. The Yorkshires were like leather. The veg were as if just dropped in boiling water and taken straight our again. Rock hard! Very pricey too for such a poor meal. Never used to be this bad. What has changed? Don't say the economy as that's no excuse.

Went down on Saturday it was very busy boss said so himself actually busy than usual on Google maps. I think I might go down on steak night as It’s a bit cheeper the banners are on the fence as you go in I’m sure there will be a good atmosphere Look out for the vouchers posted through your door with good savings. Food standards are appalling. Fryers need cleaning chips covered in black bits from dirty fat. Fish heavy in batter. Ultimate burger nothing ultimate about it. French fries cold and like eating cardboard. Desserts..... Ice cream obviously been allowed to defrost before being refrozen as full of ice. Chocolate fudge cake asked for hot came out cold and stale. Sherry trifle cheesecake not served as described on menu. Shocking to see that at only tea time on a Saturday there's no mixed grills. You ask for no peas then meal comes out with peas. I can truly say this is probably the worst meal I've ever had in a pub. Never again it's not worth the money.😡😡😡

Visit here as much as we can when in the area, always a lovely environment and the staff are terrific. Nothing is too much trouble for them, the manager Matty always makes sure to come over and check how our food is and if he can get us anything. Cannot get better pub food in the area, I had the mixed grill and the steak was cooked to perfection. The food was enjoyed by all. A truly great pub! Will be back soon!

Very good menu excellent food quick service

Ordered a halloumi and roast pepper baguette, it arrived with no peppers and about 10/11 chips. Asked staff about the peppers and they took my meal back to the kitchen. When they brought it back some tepid peppers had been placed on the sandwich. There was a group of about 11 people on the tables opposite who were very loud, to the point we could not hear each talk. Several members of this group also had meals sent back, one of which had cold mushrooms on.

Lovely food, service was brilliant, nice chilled pint on a hot day. Highly recommend.

Great place for a week night treat or special occasion

I usually come here every couple of weeks with the kids and get a ultimate chicken burger and it was always really good for the price. Dunno when but they've changed the chicken in the burger for something really low quality - wife got the same as me and didn't eat half of it. Bit disappointing really.

We hired part of the Longacre pub for a function for our sons leaving party. 10/10 We had such an amazing evening celebrating with friends and family. The buffet we ordered was outstanding 😋 All our guests could not believe how wonderful it was and such a variety of hot and cold food. We chose the higher end buffet as we wanted to make it special and it certainly was!! The gluten free options were perfect 🥰 The chefs were brilliant 👏 Thank you 😊 Matty the owner was so accommodating, nothing was too much. They decorated the area with our decorations we had bought, the atmosphere was amazing. We had organised a drinks area where Mattys team put bottle's of wine and juice for our guests arrival which was a lovely touch and then our guests could just go to the bar afterwards. 🍸 🍹🥂🍷 We all had such a fantastic and memorable evening and we thank Matty and his team for making it a special memorable ❤️ evening. We would highly recommend the new buffet for anyone. It's perfect for get together and parties 🥳 It is so easy to book and what an amazing evening ✨️ Thank you 😊

We had a fabulous family meal experience here. The staff service is excellent. There is a great choice of food, all reasonably priced. I had chicken tikka masala, which was good quality and plentiful. Food was served promptly after our order was taken. We had a 30% off voucher, which made it excellent value too. Well worth a visit.

Great visit today at lunchtime. One of the staff held the door open whilst we came in with pram and elderly neighbour, nothing was too much trouble( warming baby food, getting a high chair, setting up a tab) and staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good quality,, tasty and easy to order via an app or traditionally at the bar. Plenty of people there, but didn't feel busy- obviously the Longacre is doing something right. My first visit, but would return

Second lunch at a Marston's in two days. Neither disappointed on food or value for money. Today at The Longacre we had a lovely meal; well cooked and great presentation. One of our party asked if they could increase the heat in the curry, which was done brilliantly with no question or query. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Christine and Rosie. They were able to answer the questions we asked so we got the meals we wanted.
