I have not visited The Lobster Pot or Marloes for a good number of years and we knew the landlords last time through other businesses and it was a really welcoming and fabulous place to eat and drink. I know things change and hospitality is really struggling but then maybe you have to ensure you go the extra mile and then some to accommodate your locals and holidaymakers. The greeting was lack lustre, the menu was poor and zero atmosphere! We decided to stay to give it a chance and ordered 1 chicken burger and one beefburger with a side of cheesy chips! The chicken pieces were literally shoved in a floured bun no dressing and then a side salad which was nice with chips which again were ok. The beefburger was OK but then the cheesy chips were a bowl of chips with heaped grated cheese on top not even melted! It was so un inspiring and not the greatest meal I could have made it myself at home better! I think the menu could have been so much better with more variation and that doesn't mean a huge number of choices just a little more imagination! This could be a great place with homemade food for lunches and dinner and Cream Teas to attract people coming from Skomer and the beach and of course service with a smile and interaction with each customer.

The two girls behind the bar were really friendly. However, very poor food. Greasy chips and onion rings and the chicken goujon and beef burgers were really poor quality. Non of this food was homemade, it was a freezer food. We’d have been better going to Iceland!!

The property could be a little gold mine but is a long way from it at the moment. Building tired, does not command the rate paid £130. On arrival we had to wait to be let in along with another couple, note in the window saying back at 16:00 but they didn’t arrive back until 16:20, shown to our room told breakfast was 8:00, not good if early boat trip. Maybe an early bird breakfast menu and full breakfast from 8:00 onwards. They said they didn’t have a menu as trying different things, no info in the room. Room: Poor quality mattress, could hear the springs every time you moved, need to get out of bed to turn the light out. Personally not a fan of plastic flowers. Puffin theme in the bar but not carried into the rooms which would have been fitting due to the location. Good selection of tea, coffee etc. Curtains need blackout linings as completely see through. Bathroom: Shower head needed a good clean/descale. Clean white towels and selection of toiletries. Loose floor tiles (need grouting) Outside: Parking in front of the pub for about 7-8 cars. Village location. Breakfast: Got down to the bar at 7:58 to be told you’re keen! Given tea/coffee while he continued to put juices out. There was a selection cereals. Not sure what to do as didn’t say to help ourselves. Decided to get a bowl of cereal as not sure if we were getting anything else. After finishing our cereal, suddenly a cooked breakfast appeared but no mention that was about to happen. Did not check if we were ok with what was being offered. Consisted of undercooked streaky bacon, sausages, fried egg, tepid beans, barely cooked tomatoes, dried up mushrooms and toast. Hope it continues to improve under the new tenants.

Advertised they served food between 6 and 8pm, we (2 persons) turned up at just before 7pm to be told the kitchen was full and wouldn’t accept any further food orders. Fine, but there was not many people sat the tables and no one outside in the beer garden, so difficult to really understand their issue. There is not much to recommend this pub, other than there’s no other pub for 5 miles if you’re staying in or around Marloes.

Booked a one-night stay after taking the boat to Skomer Island for the day and it was brilliant. Friendly and accommodating staff (they popped Eurovision on the tellybox for me!), fantastic food (can heartily recommend the fish and chips), and a quality room with tea, coffee, biscuits. The breakfast was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A fantastic base for day-tripping around Pembrokeshire (they also provide packed lunches).

Fabulous pub, under new ownership, really great hosts and friendly atmosphere between locals and visitors to the area. Lovely home cooked food (super side salad with the tastiest and rather hot mustard dressing) head over there on a Friday for open mic which is great fun with an eclectic mix of music from local musicians.

The location of The Lobster Pot is the best for a visit to Skomer, being on the same road and only approx 2mile from Martin's haven embarkation point. Our host could not have done more for us ie keeping our frozen food in their freezer and providing fresh milk to take on our trip. The rooms are a little tired looking and no luxuries but perfectly adequate for our needs. Our evening meals were very good, vegies are well catered for here. We stayed on a Friday evening and there was an open mic held in the bar for all the local musicians and singers. A very enjoyable experience with a real community feel. Breakfast was cooked to order, plentiful and served from 7am, plenty of time to digest before leaving for Skomer. The current hosts have only be there for 6wks and are really making an effort to run a successful business. We will definitely be back next year whilst visiting Skomer.

Sadly I’m unable to comment on the food as we were never able to get inside. Having passed a sign on the road over a mile from the Lobster Pot Inn stating open every day with lunchtime opening from 12:00, we walked to it and arrived at 12:10 . It was closed and board outside said opening time of 1:00. This was disappointing. We checked website and times on there are inconsistent showing 12:00 opening times and 1:00 opening times. We decided to try again for Monday 6th November, so rang on Sunday, spoke to someone who said they were opening at 1:00 on Monday. We planned a 14 mile walk around having lunch at the Lobster Pot Inn. We arrived on Monday at 1:15. It was closed with a sign saying “open today at 3:00”. So if you plan to visit I highly recommend you ring JUST BEFORE you intend to eat there as the advertising board on the main road, the website times and even phoning the day before to be told opening times, in our experience were always incorrect. There is a small shop a little way from the Lobster Pot Inn (to the left of the pub as you look at the Lobster Pot Inn) if you, like us suddenly find yourself without food and 5 miles to walk, where you can get some emergency food rations!

Always a quietly warm welcome here. No fuss. Came while on holiday here last year and was impressed then. Have been several times this last two weeks while on holiday again. Good range of local ciders and gins. Have eaten twice in there this holiday. Outstanding sea food linguine cooked by their Italian chef last week and have just had scampi and fishcakes cooked by their Welsh chef. Can’t fault the place.

We were accommodated very last minute for a reservation for 2 adults and 3 children. The kids menu is standard fare while the adults choice is fantasticly fishy. Portions are HUGE (which I was warned about!) and all looked homemade. All delicious. The kids even enjoyed a play in the park opposite after we'd rolled out of the pub. No pets allowed either which made a nice change.

All I can say is I’m glad we asked if they’re still serving food as the owner was very accommodating and let us place our order. A few walkers then came in behind us who also wanted food. It wasn’t a long wait and it was the best veggie lasagne I’ve had in a while. The rest of the table ordered the chicken pie. That looked amazing too. Although this came with no veg or salad, the staff were very obliging and quickly gave us an additional side salad. I’d definitely recommend this pub and come back. Booked a table here for the end of camping trip for 7. When we arrived the bartender made our drinks there and then and we were given and a4 menu that had seen better days. We were told our table was down the steps but not shown to our table. The menu was basic pub grub, there seemed to be only two vegetarian specials but no other specials available or written on the board. We waited a while for our orders to be taken, but nobody came to the table, we had not been informed to order at the bar. Despite the pub being quiet the food took a long time to arrive. All food arrived at the same time, but no cutlery was on the table so the waitress went back to get some. Lots of the sauces and condiments were empty or not available on the table, and when asked for sweet chilli sauce to go with the chicken goujons there were none available. Nobody to check how the meal was, which it wasn't one of the fish was undercooked and inedible, so much so that it was difficult to even cut as it was so tough. When the plates were being cleaned the waitress was informed, there was no apology we were just told the chef would be informed. No desserts were offered. All in all a poor meal and poor service, which unfortunately means I would not reccomend. Although the pub was clean, simple things such as the making sure condiments and cutlery are available is just simple service. And inedible food is just not acceptable.

Maybe not the cosiest of inns as you expect, because quite modern inside. But very clean it looked to me. Very friendly staff. Had fish for starters and fish for main. Both fine and tasty. Some whisky afterwards of course. I say, a very OK place for food. Nothing wrong with it, except maybe for the somewhat plain interior.

Nice pub, good food, stove for Winter. Only thing is I feel it's had some of the character taken away from it in modernising it.

The meals were 50-100% above the usual price so we were expecting something exceptional. After a 40 minute wait - in a half-empty pub - we got what was at best a mediocre bar meal.

Had a beautiful meal here. On walking through the door the place was very spacious, clean and the lady serving behind the bar very friendly. We had our dogs with us and due to the weather being great was able to sit outside in the beer garden but was surprised with the large field that the dogs loved for running. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We popped into The Lobster Pot after going on the 1 hour boat ride out to Skomer Island from Martins Haven. The food was good and served by friendly staff. The homemade chips were great!

Useful that this pub/restaurant is open all day for food. Made welcome and had a pleasant meal - not exceptional, but adequate and at a fair price. Special board was comprehensive, but were not offered the full menu.

Being based in Marloes over Christmas, we’d expected this delightful, dog-friendly pub to be somewhere we’d spend several evenings and started as planned, with a pint and a bowl of chips on Christmas Eve. We and our soggy Setter were made immensely welcome.

Food had great variety and was delish, especially the seafood. Atmosphere of fun and camaraderie. Place was buzzing but not too loud...just right. Good memories.

On a personal level, I always find it more difficult to write a bad review instead of a good one as I find it all really tiresome.

We were able to park outside, right by the door, which was particularly appreciated in the cold wind that was blowing. Inside we had a warm welcome. The children had soft drinks and the adults tried Welsh cider. Food service was a little slow but worth the wait. The food was tasty and the portions generous.

Eaten here many times. Food cooked in good time, reasonable prices on most things, does allow dogs, huge beer garden to the rear with large 'paddock' ideal for excitable dogs.... Large children's play area over the road (now a permament 20mph zone). Perfect for families, with young children looking for an affordable place to eat at the end of the day. Only premises in the area with a games room.

Rude rude people!!, my gf’s parents have moved into the village and always support local businesses. It’s the second time her mum has been in and has really rude service.. last night again in front of queuing customers in an aggressive unnecessary way told ‘Did you not read the sign, we’re closed!’ We will never use again.

Sat in the restaurant and had cod and chips. The food was delicious and the staff were very supportive and gave great service. The staff were very helpful getting me into the restaurant as I have mobility issues and use a mobility scooter and crutches. Would highly recommend a visit if in Tenby.

The Ocean bar is a cafe bar restaurant serving the same food throughout. The staff are excellent. I asked the barman for something to dry the outside seat from rainwater and he came out and did it for me. The food is generally of good quality. However we had a gourmet burger with trimmings. The trimings and chips were excellent, but the beef burger itself was tasteless. My wife said the same thing about her burger. Maybe it was a bad batch. I thought it was my tase buds but when I ordered a pudding it was stunnning.

Beautifully cooked fresh chips. Being local, we've tried all the chip shops in Tenby and Pipers is at the top of the tree for value and taste.
