Very good breakfast. Two points. 1) Don't put greenery on a breakfast, it doesn't enhance the look, it detracts from the beauty of dead pig and accompaniments, 2) Don't call the hash brown bits by that name. Hash brown is an abomination and we should return to fried bread. In any case they were nice, so they can't be hash browns.

I visited The Little Shed with my mum and grandma for a family breakfast for my mums birthday, staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much to ask. I had the full english and was one of the best I’ve had! Their cake counter is brilliant with all fresh cakes baked in house, they tasted amazing we took some home!! Would definitely recommend, such a lovely little place!

Tried to book online for an impromptu Sunday breakfast, the website said to phone them instead. Phoned a couple of times, no answer so we decided to walk up to the cafe and see if there was any availability. Luckily they did and we were told to take a seat anywhere we liked. No menus on the tables and nobody available to ask for one, ended up asking another customer to use theirs once they had ordered. Placed our order inside at the counter at around 11.15am. Drinks arrived around 15-20 minutes later. We were waiting for our food and noticed that the table next to us, who ordered after us, had received their food but we hadn’t. It then got to over an hour waiting for our food, so I went inside to ask, I was just told “yes it’s coming, sorry” quite insincerely. Our food arrived about 10-15 minutes later (approx 1hr 20mins after ordering), again no real apology or explanation. We were asked if we needed anything else, we asked for some cutlery, which took a further 2-3 minutes to arrive. Baring in mind it was an English Breakfast and an Avocado on toast, absolutely ridiculous time to have to wait with no explanation. Will not be chancing them again.

Popped in today I was just pasting and seen the place open with lots of customers, the shop was clean and smelt lovely. I was on my way to my mothers so I picked up a couple of cakes they all looked amazing the lotus and tiramisu was what I settled for . The lotus cake was tasty but too much for one and the tiramisu was awful, dry and even the cream was rock hard must have been there all week...hit the bin with a bang like a brick. I did take a picture of the brunch /lunch menu and took a nosey look at what people were eating looked nice so I may revisit but not for cake

Went on a Sunday for afternoon tea for 2. Really nice food, sandwiches and scones tasted really fresh. I would have preferred a larger coffee option when compared to the size of the tea option. Minor negatives would be the place is pretty small so you are quite close to other people and my and the wife's date lunch was happening next to children loudly playing. Also the toilets are in a different building, you have to go outside on to the street and to the gift shop and the toilet itself is far from accessable with a door than doesn't open properly and a really cramped entrance. Obviously trying to do a lot with limited space, but possibly too much.

Had a lovely afternoon tea experience! The service was a joy and the food was brilliant - the sandwiches and scones were absolutely delicious, and the cakes were perfectly light, overall it was really good value for money! Lots of choice for drinks and with different types of milk too. The place itself is a lovely, cosy atmosphere. The staff really looked after us and made sure the vegetarian in the group had options too. Would highly recommend and will be going again to try the rest of the menu!

A friendly welcome is guaranteed for the right sort of customer. Inside there's a nice, warm, tropical heat wave ambience. The layout is ideal for four foot seven little old ladies. Ordering's a bit of a lottery. You may be served a pot of English Breakfast instead of the Earl Grey you ordered, with a dirty cup and strainer. If you sit outside remember to bring your own milk and sugar because you won't be offered any. But at only £3.40 per pot who's arguing?

What a delightful little place! I can't believe it's taken us so long to find The Little Shed, it's brill! A real Aladdin's cave of a shop with some gorgeous clothes, gifts and jewellery, and very helpful staff, and just round the corner, there's a fabulous cafe! The coffee's REALLY good, and the scones and sausage rolls are very scrummy. Plenty of people were eating larger meals that all looked beautiful too, but if you fancy a trip, do book. It's only quite small and gets very busy, especially around lunchtime xxx

Haven't visited since before the gift shop part was there. Called in for coffee around 10am with a friend. Not the welcome we were expecting...no good morning and a smile, just...had we booked a table? We were seated at a table for 2 very close to the neighbouring table for 2. (I realise it's not the biggest of places) Went to the counter to order and as I was waiting to order and was about to have my order taken, an obvious regular walked in and asked for a table (the owner called her by her name) she proceeded to order her drinks and paid for them whilst I was standing there?! The woman at the till knew I was waiting to order as did the owner....bad manners. I had a cheese scone warmed which was OK but overpowered with pepper which took away from the cheese. I didn't expect the scone to be peppery, or I wouldn't have ordered it. The owner didn't smile and wasn't particularly welcoming tho she did give us a big smile as we left! Had to walk down the road and use the toilet in the hairdressers as facilities weren't in the cafe. I understand space is obviously an issue but I felt quite awkward going into the hairdressers and explaining I was from the Little Shed and could I use their toilet. A little overpriced we thought, but that's our opinion. A pleasant morning, but not somewhere we would rush back to.

We were shown to a table that was rather closed in. The lady I was with is not small and she found it difficult to access her chair. I thought this was a little thoughtless on the part of the male waiter as there were other places available. My friend preferred not to change her seat however. Our table needed wiping. Very pleasant cafe painted in off-white to maximise light. No where at the counter to place handbags etc due to high display cabinet (with lovely baked goodies inside). Quick service. Pot of tea x two, bacon sandwich and a BLT with little side salad £20. Doorstep slices of fresh baked (white) bread-delicious and really flavoursome thick sliced bacon; ample filling of tomato/avocado and fresh leaves. Served on a serviette which became sodden with salad dressing oil. Why? Would visit again.

Top ten worst table placement. We were crammed onto a corner table with fluffy ceiling hangings. People were constantly pushing into us to get in and out of their tables. The table next to us was so close we were almost sitting together. Coffee was good, but toast was soggy and underdone the croissant was stale. It seems the best tables and food was reserved for the locals who reserved almost all the tables in advance. They probably sat at our table before and have learned their lesson.

No food after 2pm and anti family groups if they have any vegans. We won't be returning here. The owner took a hate towards two of our family members because they wanted vegan options. They needed to eat and after grabbing a plant based sandwich from waitress she kicked them off and split us up even though once they had eaten they was going to get a coffee. We were visiting England for a family Vacation ( I'm from Derby, my wife and Kids are from the US where I live now ) and we wanted to take my Mum for an Afternoon Tea somewhere. I found the Little Shed as the reviews were good and it was fairly close to her house. Upon walking in we were blown away, the decor is awesome, the staff were incredible ( I don't recall the Lad's name that was serving us but he was incredible and a credit to the Cafe ) Afternoon Tea was the experience we wanted and the food and drinks were 10/10. We took some leftovers as the food was too good to waste and if we lived locally we would visit here regularly. HIGHLY Recommended

Well paid this place a visit today and I can’t say I was very impressed at all, we got there at just gone 2pm and was told as soon as we walked in that there was only cake available which we did not mind, we ordered a cheese scone but ordered it cold and not to be warmed at all, it was very dry and quite hard work, there was three or four different types of scones to choose from , maybe if they had a covering over them it would of been better. The man who worked there served the scones by bare hands too, don’t believe we will ever go again.

I've been coming here for a number of years but over the last few the service has gone down considerably. We've given gift cards to family to support them throughout the pandemic but rules seem to change depending on who's working in store. When we've raised this with the owner who isn't in the store they've come back quickly and apologised for the service. However, as recently as a few days ago the staff (one in particular) continue to be disrespectful to family members who want to use these gifts cards. Example...they called ahead to book for afternoon tea (takeaway) but we're told by staff when they arrived that they didn't write the booking down. On a previous incident we were told that they didn't write anything down. This inconsistenty in service doesn't seem to correlate with the other reviews on here which are mainly 5 star. It makes me wonder why we've had such a different experience!? Sorry to say we won't be supporting The Little Shed any longer.

We pop in often. They do great coffee here – thick and strong. Great place for people watching. Not eaten here yet but the cakes, pastries and sandwiches look good. Maybe some low carb alternatives would be good. Bacon and egg tarts, for example? Only marked down (selfishly) due to there being plenty of space for prams and pushchairs and therefore... Squawking small things – that can spoil the atmosphere. But this means there's plenty of space for wheelchairs and mobility scooters and there's level access through wide doors. And there's an accessible loo.
