Probably the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. The food was delicious. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere.

Best Thai restaurant outside of Thailand. We've eaten here many times and the food is always superb. The staff are friendly and always happy to see you. PS.. The chilli scallops, salt n pepper squid and curly fish are absolutely top notch! Love this place.

If you walk in naked you'll probably get a more friendly welcome than our two year old. I don't think I've ever been greeted with such sour faces in a restaurant and the atmosphere felt tense despite our daughter being well behaved and my wife asking very politely in Thai for some plain pork. Although to be fair they did provide a high chair and some plain steamed veg. Food for the grown-ups was disappointing, the grilled chicken didn't seem all that fresh and the chu chi pla (fish in slightly spicy sauce) was ok but could be more saucy. Probably ok for parties of adults who have never experienced authentic Thai food.

The food was lovely, flavourful and delicious but I wish we had read previous reviews on the portion sizes. I’ve never seen takeaway with so little in the container!! Went done well but we were all left hungry!

As it was impossible to book online I rang and left a message booking a table for 3 for that evening. I later rang again to confirm the booking, but a member of staff said the answering service did not work and there was no place for us. So why take messages? Please sort yourselves out.

Vegetarians and Vegans please be aware .... 'Vegetarian' Pad Thai Curry had chicken in it.... owners were told but did not even come over to apologise, clearly didn't care! I would hate to think if this was a more serious food allergy such as nuts or gluten.

Excellent meal - one star lost as chicken satay was rather dry, but dim sum delicious. Green Thai curry, one chicken, one prawn, with Jasmine and sticky rice, filled us up. Would definitely recommend!

A delicious meal. As usual. When you visit, order something with sea bass, and you will NOT be disappointed.

Food wasn't the best. We had a take away whether that makes any difference I don't know. The curry I had was ok but the sauce was far too waterery and the chicken was sparse and like chewy. The rice was far too sticky and the noodles were again sticky and not very nice. Very disappointed as I know they are better than that, use again? Not for a while.

Takeaway for a family group of 10, ordered in advance. The food was good on the whole, but the portions were very small and there was a lot of sauce with very small amounts of meat/prawns. We paid £190 which was expensive and there was confusion at payment which led to the collector being chased down the street for a 20p short payment. We all felt shortchanged by our takeaway experience here.

Ordered 3 vegetarian dishes without red or green peppers. Was given two dishes with peppers. All three dishes were extremely watery with almost no ingredients other than tofu. Yes, I know Thai curries are much thinner than Indian curries, but this was just flavoured liquid! Would definitely not recommend.

An idle yet bustling Thai bringing the spice to sleepy Rye; the flavour balance was real and the staff were so sweet. Big 👍🏼 to Amelia! The portions are definitely on the small side, but this is reflected in the price. It was a wonderful starting point to a hen party weekend, thank you.

Nice Thai restaurant. We enjoyed our meal here. The staff is friendly and the quality of the food is good. The portions are pretty small. I do recommend a starter even for small eaters. We had fish cakes and duck spring rolls as starters. They were okay, though we believe it's better to order the chicken spring rolls as there is hardly any difference in taste. As main course we had Pad Thai and panang curry. They were great.

Ordered takeaway from this restaurant in Rye. Food was very authentic and delicious- perfect balance of flavor without being too overpowering. The green curry and sirloin steak were stars of the show

Booked a table for mothers day a month before as I thought they would be busy, day arrived we went into the restaurant only to be greeted by a witch of a women barking questions at me loud enough that everyone turned to watch I told her I had a table booked she then said I hadn't booked for the correct number of people whilst looking at my little one like he was a piece of dirt. She pointed to a table in the middle of the restaurant but by now my family felt very uncomfortable I suggested we get a take away and asked the witch for a takeaway menu, she slammed it down on the counter and stormed off into the back. Needless to say we didn't order anything from there. Would not recommend if you have kids as they are clearly not welcome and would not recommend as its shocking service before I'd even ordered anything.

Called to book a table and confirmed on the phone. Arrived at the restaurant at the time of the reservation only to be told that they did not have our reservation and that “the husband” must have forgot to note it down. Staff made no effort to correct their mistake and simply said they did not have a table for us. I would avoid at all costs.

What a lovely little spot! We had dinner on a Sunday evening and the place was still quite busy. The staff were friendly, the food incredible and so nicely presented. It all tasted really fresh and delicious. We had a selection of starters, 2 mains with stir-fried vegetables and Jasmine rice and all cooked perfectly. What a gem, can highly recommend and we will definitely be back and they offer take away too!

Kids size portions, duck red curry ok but minimal duck. Dishes are more like soup than curries. Overall based on previous reviews, we were very disappointed.

Really nice authentic Thai food. Service was a little slow, ordered drinks on arrival but they didn’t arrive until after our starter and three reminders. Proprietor/staff very pleasant though so still worth a 4. Quiet when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday. Just a few elderly couples. Got busier (and noisier) as the evening progressed and it started to fill up. Overall a very pleasant evening.

Been to thailand a lot and tried thai food everywhere and it has been lame, but this was perfect! Spicy and amazing!

Wow wow wow, lovely ambience here to enjoy some delicious Thai cuisine. Sharing platter delicious but don't miss out on the dim sum. I had the Singapore noodles for main and again delicious. No deserts offered but tbh you don't really miss that. Reasonably priced wines to accompany. Staff deliver excellent service. Highly recommend if you are visiting Rye and is open Sundays!

Called to book but they booked me in a day early. They didn't spot the error because they called to check the booking from a completely different number and didn't leave a voicemail so I assumed their call was spam. Shame as everyone makes mistakes but this could have been avoided by the simple action of leaving a voicemail or using their landline. In fairness they did try to accommodate us but we went elsewhere as we couldn't wait another hour with small kids.

Delicious take away from here this evening. Beef massaman curry, Pad Thai and Red Thai Chicken curry all fantastic. Will be back. Service very friendly.

Went to Rye this evening, we had originally planned to eat elsewhere but it was rammed. I'm so glad we decided on The Lemongrass instead. The staff were very welcoming, it was a pretty quiet but it was a Wednesday night, to be honest that suited me just fine. The food was really delicious and cooked perfectly. The air conditioning was a unexpected bonus because it was baking hot outside. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Excellent food, great service but I'd advise booking beforehand.

The hype is real! This place was wonderful; kind attentive staff, delicious authentic food and a very happy bustling atmosphere. Plenty of vegan options also. I recommend getting a selection of the starters; the veg tempura and sweetcorn cakes were especially delicious. The only thing that could be improved (for me) would be if they could have more drinks on offer, as I'm someone who doesn't have soft drinks, wine or beer. if there was a BYOB corkage situation, that would be great! Thank you Lemongrass team for a lovely experience, and squeezing us in at the last minute. (Another tip - book in advance!)

A fanatic little place located just before the land gate in the historic town of Rye. Friendly service awaits you where the table are quaint and idle for a romantic meal for couples. There’s enough room for larger groups too. Food choice was massive and has all the Thai favourites. Food arrived quickly and hot which tasted amazing. Not overly spiced, cooked just right. Well worth a visit for a lovely evening out. We choose the pad Thai which was Amazing. Prices were very reasonable too.

Nice small family restaurant with a good menu. The food was very tasty and there was enough to stratify most people. The place does get busy so I would advise you to book (telephone only) - they do not server coffee or serve deserts.

Good service especially as we got there just as it opened. Before we left the place was almost full. We were vegan so ordered the drunken noodles, which we didn't enjoy as much as the flavours of these were exactly the same as the veggie stir fry. The lemongrass rice didn't taste that much of lemongrass but were tasty just missing tofu. The green curry papaya salad and the stir fry veggies were tasty.

The food was very good and tasty with a lot of flavour, we picked up a takeaway and while it was not the most generous portion it was extremely flavourful.

Everything about this restaurant was perfect for me. Excellent and friendly service, delicious fresh food and a really nice ambience. Great vegan and vegetarian options that are labelled. Really good prices aswell. I’m only working down here for a couple of weeks but I’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

We visited last night and we had starters and mains only. The waitress and waiter were very friendly and we waited 10 mins to order. The starters were Salt and Pepper Squid and my partner had Chicken Satay which both were delicious. My partner had the Sea Bass which she loved apart from the bones which is the nature of fish. I had a Duck in Tamarind Sauce which was delicate and fresh. We tipped heavily due to the service. It's a lovely restaurant for couples. We noticed people around 50-60's and we were the youngest 31-38. You must visit of you enjoy Thai cuisine. 🌟

The service was a bit poor ,had to ask for some chilli sauce for my crackers and was expensive about 8 crackers for £3.50. The food was good, we never got asked if everything was OK and did we want another drink. After they took our plates away we were ignored. We wanted desert, eventually we called them over and enquired about desert, they didn't do them so we asked for bill and left. So bit disappointed

Great ambience, friendly staff. The menu is very good and caters for all tastes, vegan etc. I went with my wife and sister and future brother in law. We had the mixed platter and a few other dishes for starters, shared 4 mains a bottle of red and bottle of Prosseco. The food was very tasty and good portion size.

I am only visiting the area for a short time so I am disappointed I won't get to come here more often. This was the best Thai restaurant I have eaten in. The food is fantastic.

We arrived just before closing time and were still warmly welcomed. We even got the nicest table in the restaurant. The price-performance ratio is great. The food very tasty. Here "spicy/hot" also means "spicy/hot". :) Very friendly service. We recommend. Vegan options available.

A great traditional, local Thai, which seem few and far between these days, with high streets full of 'Asian Fusion '! The dishes are spiced for delicate English palates though, in my opinion. I will definitely ask for 'extra spicy, Thai style ' next time 🙂.

Beyond impressed! Besides what other reviews are praising l want to add that l rarely see such a thoughtfull meniu, for example mentioning MSG and more common allergy considerations. The food was fantastic! The duck and also pad thai noodles were 100/10. We kept ordering because the apetite was growing while eating and at the end we had to ask for a doggy bag 😄 Portions are just a perfect size and allows you to try different plates instead of sticking with just one choice. Pricewise is a win, too. Best of luck to the owners of the restaurant! We will come back for sure.
