The Khyber in North Lincolnshire

Normally eat in when we visit and have always been extremely impressed by the food. Ordered a takeaway this time and the quality wasn't as good. The service was as fantastic and friendly as always and some of the components were extremely nice such as the mixed kebab and the keema naan. The chef's special balti was just okay, but the pilau rice was extremely bland.

I have been going for around 5 years had most of the dishes enjoyed them All They are always well Presented and good Portions if you won’t less or more spice not a problem just ask I would highly recommend it

Had another great night at the Khyber last night with the family, seated on arrival by Amir and the team, always well looked after and lovely food, looking forward to next time.

Absolutely beautiful. Called in tonight ( Tuesday 5th November) had not booked a table . Needed for 3….. was seated straight away. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, moderately busy for a Tuesday evening. Had lamb bhuna, chicken tikka masala and a chicken shashlik … with rice, chips naan and bhajis. Service was great and the food amazing. Will be returning! Very good value for money !

The food was excellent. The waiter that took our order was OK, the waiter that delivered the food...... not a pleasant chap. Seating was not that comfortable, and the decor looked like the restaurant from Del Boy, where he got ripped off with the cheap ornament. Parking was a challenge. No fault of the restaurant, just one to think about. It was reasonably priced, and as I said, the food was good. You got a decent portion. Would I go again 🤔 no, there's other places to try.

Tried here because we couldn't get a table at the Curry Leaf. Well what a surprise! This place in our opinion absolutely tops the Curry Leaf ! The service as soon as we walked in to the moment we left was outstanding, friendly attentive staff. The food ! Well let's say was outstanding! The best I have tasted in a long time! I didn't actually think that the Curry leaf could be beaten, but how wrong was we. This will be our new place to go from now.🥰 Also the price was excellent for the standard of service and the excellent food. Can highly recommend 100% Thank you Khyber

Visited on our 48th wedding anniversary. We had the set meal which was outstanding as usual. Excellent service and spotlessly clean.

That was the WORST curry we ever had. The food was so greasy we couldn't eat it, each having a bite from the portion. I've never seen so much oil in food ever. We were literally scooping the oil out with spoons it was inedible. It also had no other flavour other than salt. I don't know how they think it was okay to be serbed. And incredibly overpriced for what it was.

A very nice Indian restaurant. The staff are attentive without being intrusive. The food is delicious and carefully presented. We have been here a few times with my sister and her family, who are all vegans, and the menu offers a lot of choice for vegetarian and vegan customers. The staff are careful to accommodate dietary preferences. The onion bhajis are crisp and delicious. Any of the vegetable side dishes can be ordered as a main if preferred. The portions are generous. You get real linen table napkins here, which is always a sign of a great restaurant that cares about small details. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and the loos are very clean. However, if you have difficulty managing stairs, this may not be the best restaurant for you as the loos are upstairs on the first floor, and half of the dining area is up on a mezzanine about 4 steps up from the rest of the restaurant.

Went last Saturday 20:30. Great food as always however lots of families with babies and young children. Felt more like a creche than a restaurant. Not the quiet relaxing meal for adults on an evening out that we were expecting. Will try somewhere else next time.

Went with five friends and we all had different meals. All meals absolutely excellent and cooked to perfection using very fresh ingredients. Very friendly atmosphere with staff who have perfected the art of giving you enough time without rushing or abandoning you. Would thoroughly recommend for a great night out

Collection was not ready at the agreed time, and on getting home realised that an item was missing from the order. Food was good though.

Everything about our experience at The Khyber Restaurant was first class . Attentive waiters , fabulous food and a lovely atmosphere . we will definitely be back.

Food was nice, long waits for food to arrive. It was a very long wait for the mains to arrive although they were really busy. Most of the guys in there were very pleasant apart from one rude one at the end who was giving out personal insults. I have heard great things about this place sadly ruined by those last interactions

We went Khyber restaurant last night. My partners birthday. We got poisoned. My partner is very poorly, he had to come home early. I tried he's curry the chicken was frozen meet and very dry. I asked Manager, is the chicken fresh, he said yes he lied. I've been cooking 40 years I know when chicken is fresh. Never go there again.

I live in Scotland so always when visiting family we arrange to meet and have a meal here. My son, his girlfriend and myself went last week (2/05/23). The staff are always helpful, polite and greet us as long lost friends. The food was amazing, the portions are generous with me always needing to have some boxed up to take away with us (my son has it the next day for work, so no leftovers). I must admit we made a mess of the tablecloth hopefully they were able to get the stains out. I highly recommend The Khyber if you want a good quality meal that’s not overly expensive. Thank you very much guys, we’ll be back soon 😊

Thoroughly enjoyable night at the Kyber, the staff are very pleasant and the food is simply delicious. Seated quickly, drinks order taken and given time to look at the menu without feeling rushed. Lots on the menu to choose from and the staff are very knowledgeable about their dishes. The restaurant was full but this did not impact on the waiting time once ordered. My husband had a lamb dish and I've never seen so much meat in one curry before with the lamb so tender, it was fantastic. I had the tandoori mixed special which was so flavoursome and divine. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, I travelled over 20 miles to get here and I would definitely go back again. Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely restaurant, well done Khyber!!

We've been a few times and it's the best Indian restaurant that we've ever been to. Such great service and amazing food.

Food and staff were superb. Even though restaurant was busy we were seated fairly quickly. Food was served quickly and to a high standard. Wine was a great one. Overall an extremely pleasant evening

1st time here at the Khyber . A hidden gem in a rural setting. Great food and staff. Unhurried but attentive service . Licenced for alcohol. Fabulous .

After someone posting on fb that they weren’t satisfied, we went in trepidation. Well we found nothing to complain about. Staff were courteous, we were served promptly, the place clean, well kept and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We weren’t rushed through and spent 2 1/2 hours over our meal. Not arty farty dining where it’s spot the meal on your plate, but definitely above mid range. Plenty for 2 people in the set menu. Tuesday night was a good day to choose. We will be back for my birthday.

Overall good. Waiting time for mains was quiet long for a mid-week visit so room for improvement there.

After hearing such great reviews we was really looking forward to trying this place. We travelled nearly half an hour to get there in the car. From the moment we walked in we could tell there would be a time issue. We was a table of 2 and was sat in the foyer for around 10 minutes before we was taken to our booked table. 10 minutes isn't long if the restaurant was full but there was plenty of tables available. While waiting we wasn't offered a drink or spoken to once. Once we got to our table we was served drinks promptly and given menus and that was where the service ended. After 45 minutes of waiting, we still hadn't been asked our order. We then was asked if we would like another drink, we said no, eventually we was asked to give our order. I didn't make a fuss, I simply explained how long we had been waiting and said we would like to leave and go somewhere else. They asked why and after explaining they gave us the drinks on the house and said ok. I cannot comment on the food but it did smell good. On the service, I think that was what let them down, no-one explained on arrival that they were under pressure and that food would take a while. They wasn't under staffed, there was plenty of people serving drinks but none came to us to ask us or even made eye contact with us. So in my opinion, the only people that would have enjoyed the evening would have been people that was there for the night and drinking plenty and not bothered by how long they was there for. This was not a luxury we had as one was driving.

Having heard and read lots of positive comments about Khyber we decided to try it for ourselves. Having recently moved to the area we are slowly finding our way round and trying different places. What a bonus to find that we have a superb Indian restaurant almost in our doorstep, The Khyber is fantastic, a lovely place with friendly and attentive staff. The fact it was so busy on a midweek night was a good sign too. A comprehensive and interesting menu gave us plenty of choice and we weren’t disappointed, the food was superb, really fresh and spiced just right. Already planning our next visit.

Excellent I asked a local which was the best Indian in Epworth, and he instantly told me Khyber. He wasn't wrong.

I rarely give 5*. But the Khyber consistently delivers good food, good portions, at an excellent price, in what is evidently a very well run restaurant. The service is impeccable. The team know what they are doing, and they do it well. And it is great fun. While I understand it isn't the model, I'd love to see some dish trials like Dishoom, JKS, Jikoni...

Asked a local, which was the best Indian restaurant local to Epworth, and he immediately without hesitation only offered one suggestion which is always a good sign [Kyber]. OMG, he wasn't wrong. After living in Bradford for several years and dining at what are considered the best Indian restaurants in that area, it's often difficult to find that level of expertise and quality and strength of ingredients outside of cities as quite rightly they appear to soften the tastes to cater for a more traditional English taste bud. Not so the case here. The focus is certainly on taste and flavours as opposed to spice and burn, and the quality and the cuts of meat were exceptional. As it was our 1st visit we opted for their 'Special' set menu for two, as I usually find that these are paired correctly, whilst still taking you on a taste safari around their kitchen. It proved a good choice on our part, and without going into detail of each dish, all were cooked to perfection, and of a size that meant empty plates and cookware were returned to the kitchen, rather than taken home in a doggy bag, with two exceptions being that the set menu includes coffees and desserts that we had no room for, and politely declined. However, as an indicator of the level of service and customer satisfaction that the restaurant offers, they asked us to choose two frozen desserts and bagged these up for us to take home. Ten out of ten in every department gentlemen. Thank you, and we look forward to returning soon and exploring the whole menu.

On arrival we were shown to our table promptly and the restaurant was about 60% full. We waited about 15 minutes before our drinks order was taken and we asked for popadoms at the same time and was promptly told we do them when we take to food order even though other tables were offered popadoms at the same time as their drinks order. Drink arrived about 5 minutes later then we had to wait another 10 minutes for our food order to be taken. We asked for extra garlic in the garlic rice and was told NO as it was garlicky enough and everything was pre portioned out, what happened to customer service? While waiting for the food one of the waiters took the empty pint glass and every restaurant I’ve been to always ask if you would like another drink but not in this occasion, I gave up trying to get their attention for another drink. The wait for the food was over an hour and just as we were starting to stand up to leave and go somewhere else for food the food trolley arrived. One chicken dish arrived swimming in oil. The other dish chicken madras was bland and had no flavour only spice heat and the chicken was over cooked (mostly inedible). The garlic rice was bland as anything and hardly any garlic flavour to it. As for the prices, the drink were on par with our local Indian restaurants in London and the food was only marginally cheaper. Personally I would never go back and would rather spend more money on a curry that has flavour. If your one of the ones who really rate this restaurant I pity your taste buds as you haven’t experienced true authentic Indian food that is packed with flavour.

The best indian you can get in the Isle, but not as good as the one's in the south.

The food is pretty good. Standard Indian fare really but a few bits on the menu that are a little more exciting. Found it to be quite expensive though

One of the best chicken Baltis I have had- rich, thick and extremely tasty. Very busy, always a good sign especially in a small village like this. Portion size just right, not too big.

Food was good. However the service wasn't brilliant. Some of the waiters were curtious but others quite abrupt. The place needs a revamp, as it's very dated.

I and a friend arrived without booking; the restaurant was busy, however they managed to sit us after a 20 minute wait. We both ordered 'Persian Biriani', chicken, with a Madras hot sauce for the main, and a couple of pompadoms each for a starter. The starter was fine with a good selection of chutneys etc. The main course was a disappointment. The rice was in my opinion, overcooked, more of a rice pudding texture than what I have experienced before. The sauce was bland, with a hot afterburn. I'd call it unbalanced. I haven't got COVID so my taste buds are fine. I was asked at the end of the meal if all was ok and I did say no and gave an explanation, but the waiter was flippant in his rebuff. So if I go again I'll avoid the biriani. I'll try Scunthorpe next time I venture out.

All Indian resturants should aspire to the Khyber. Excellent food, deep rich flavours and superb service, first class - we travelled 20miles to eat there and it never disappoints.

The takeaway meal was really tasty....however having to wait 50 minutes over the alloted time for it was frustrating to say the least...obviously the Gov restrictions on 10 pm closure caused the problems for the staff...but they could've offered me a free drink to compensate for my long wait...

We are local & took a takeaway yesterday for the first time, really very pleased that we have found an authentic Indian Restaurant locally, we were really not expecting that the taste would be so authentic in this area & If you’re a desi or a non-desi searching for authentic indian taste, I definitely recommend this restaurant, the food has a real indian taste unlike any other so called indian restaurants. 5/5 will be going again and again. We had a wonderful meal with all dishes being of the highest quality. The service was faultless and the atmosphere extremely comfortable. A most enjoyable evening for all of us so I have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant without reservation.
