Visited today with family. The place was empty. No atmosphere, staff surly and quiet. Ordered cheese on toast, big mistake, I haven't a clue what cheese was used but it was awful. Almost curdled and for a cancer patient going through treatment I cant afford to eat food that looks curdled. We left our food and certainly wont be returning. Tip for the future - use a decent cheddar or Cheshire cheese and not cheap rubbish

Great little intimate place to catch up with friends. a new business with some great ideas.. love the fact children are welcome to paint a pot with family and friends. A great idea to be able to book a party slot to enjoy afternoon tea with friends.. these ladies have great ideas for you to sit back, enjoy your day while they serve with a smile. well done, can't wait to revisit with all my girlie friends.

I have just come from the Kettles on after attending my grandaughters 7th birthday party. All i can say is it was beautiful, well organised and i cant thank the two ladies for making this such a lovely event. Party crowns to colour, paint a pots to paint, then decorating the childrens own cupcakes. Afternoon tea was served to the children beautifully choice of sandwiches, little jellies, chopped veg and biscuits. I have nothing but praise for the two ladies and the cafe, well worth a visit.

We used to visit A Right Royal Tea Party (ARRTP) and love it and was disappointed when it moved. I was intrigued to try The Kettles On. From the sign it appeared to be a vintage tearoom but inside the decor was drab and felt a bit sad and confused. I’m not sure if it’s trying to be shabby chic or vintage or what but whatever the look it hasn’t been executed well. There were some cheap and rather tacky paper garlands hanging in one corner. Then a large shelf with pot items that can be painted which I think is a great idea but these should be displayed properly and not is such a large premium space. At the end of the day it’s a tea room first and foremost so more appropriate items such as lovely teapots and cups should be displayed on the shelves. The counter was very cluttered but yet there were only a few poor quality baked items on offer none of which looked that appealing which was disappointing. ARRTP always had a choice of 4 or 5 lovely well decorated cupcakes. I was also disappointed to be offered a pre-bought bakewell tart that wasn’t home made. The counter is the sales point of the tea room it needs to be clutter free with lots of lovely homemade items. My food arrived and the sandwiches were fine. The soup wasn’t nice at all so I left most of it, and the cake I couldn’t eat as it was dry. I have to say the ladies that run the place are lovely and the service was good. There wasn’t much of an atmosphere as it was very quiet, completely different to when it was ARRTP as it was busy all the time. The sad thing is people won’t give honest feedback, so the ladies that run the tearoom won’t know we’re to make changes. I suspect this little tearoom won’t be in business long if it doesn’t invest in the look and feel and give us some high quality baked items. I left feeling incredibly disappointed at spending money on food that was poor to average. I love supporting small businesses but I’m not going back as there’s far nicer tearooms around Rossendale.

We have been visiting Kay’s for nearly a year, during this period the fish has remained a consistently high standard. We pass several other fish and chip shops to get to Kay’s, and it never disappoint
