The Kai's Chinese Takeaway in Calderdale

We were Visiting my brother for a few days and on our last night decided not to cook. We were recommended Kai's by his next door neighbour. Rang the order in, duck dish, chicken wings, prawn toast & a special fried rice, we were told ready in 1/4 of an hour. Very efficient service. We shared all the dishes and had a mix and match. The food was hot and very flavoursome. We were a little confused with the chicken wings they seemed more like strips of pork, but whatever tasty. We received a complimentary bag of prawn crackers. I would recommend if your wanting a quick fix meal for our above order it was £25.

This is an amazing takeaway food is amazing haven't had or been to any other takeaway the staff are amazing the lady on front of house is very fast and very polite the English man on the phone has a very good customer relationship always taking am making customers laugh the shop could do with a bit of a make over but can't fault the food or the staff

Great Friendly and Fast service - we always call and collect. Singapore Chow Mein or Special Fried rice with OK or sweet and Sour Sauce are our go to items. The portion size of prawn toast is very generous, the crispy chilli beef and chicken curry are other great choices.

Great friendly local Elland Chinese. Good food and consistent we always collect and wouldn’t get a Chinese from anywhere else around Elland now. Keep it up

I've been a regular customer for over 30 years, think I put the previous owner (Kevin's) kids through university with our weekly orders. Kai's remains our go-to chinese takeaway despite plenty of local competition. Good food, large portions, friendly service, great value and excellent delivery service. I don't hesitate to recommend this food provider.

Friendly owners. Everything cooked fresh. The king prawns are the best you get anywhere. The soup and prawn toast are really nice. I like the curry as well nice kick but not over spicy. One of my favourites is the duck with black bean sauce it usually has peppers in but I can't eat them so they put chillies in instead. She always remembers I can't have them. They are really good with allergy advice and will amend the dishes to suit. Highly recommended.

Had a takeaway for 4 on Thursday and although it was £50 it was worth the price. Think we had 3 starters and 3 mains between 4 people. The only photo on here does not do it justice. I could have eaten it again tonight! They need to ditch the polystyrene style containers though and get some classier card ones for the prawn toast. Eeek

Since moving to Elland, I've ordered from Kai's a few times, and it's lovely. The lady at the counter is always really friendly - and the food is gorgeous. Will definatley be back again.

It is a fish and chip shop/chinese The food is okay, the cost is actually a bit higher than you would think, have used a number times. You can order and pick up or they do also deliver within local area. I wouldnt recommend nor dodge them - it is not overselling itself as a fine eatery, just quick food, that sometimes is lovely, sometines not so good.

I can't vouch for all the food at The Kai's as I love the chicken curry so much that that's all I ever order. Sadly it's not my local Chinese anymore as I've moved, but we went back last night as we were at a friend's house who lives nearby. The food was lovely as ever. The chicken curry hasn't changed a bit! The chips are great too, as is the fried rice. Hubby was happy with his seafood in ginger and spring onion sauce and my friend had a mushroom foo yung which he also enjoyed.

Very good value and tasty! We were below the free delivery level but still only charged £1.20 delivery :)

Ordered and paid for roast curry duck. Received either tofu or chicken, sending to trading standards to confirm. Rang to complain, very defensive and dismissive. Said i would leave with trading standards. Make your own mind up. Won't order again.

When ordered given price as per website when delivered totally different price. Charges for delivery even within half a mile..

Pedí un plato de 'Kai' en el fin de semana. Sal y Pimienta costillas y Especial Chow Meim. Me ha consultado los comentarios en Tripadvisor antes de pedir y estaba realmente hambriento y de esperanza.La señorita que servía era muy agradable y servicial. Ese era el final de algo bueno. Cuando me dieron la comida me pareció que las costillas no eran costillas pero tipo de codillo con poco o nada de carne y habían sido frito con pasta gruesa. Intenté comer una pareja pero pronto ellos expiden a los desechos de comida basura. El especial de Chow Mein no fue mucho mejor que elegí la comida y intentamos encontrar algo de carne y verduras pero razonable no era algo que podría haber sido llamado bueno.Leí las críticas de Tripadvisor de nuevo y era algo incrédula. Si no supiera mejor podría haber estado en el mal para llevar.No podría recomendar el Kai a cualquiera.

The takeaway lunch box Menu is amazing. Always ready on time and as a fussy eater I do make a few request regarding preparation and it is always perfect as requested

Always enjoy a takeaway from Kai's. It's very busy but they are so well organised. They also offer a delivery service. My favourite is Hot and spicy soup and sweet & sour chicke.

We had a takeaway meal from here Saturday and it was that nice we went again Sunday! Really nice good and very friendly people will definitely be going back

The food here is OK, it nothing special and while many local people rave about it , the cuisine is over priced and is no more than average. The service is great, the staff are friendly but the food just isn't all that special.

Love the take away menu. Lots of choice. The meal was hot, fresh, not greasy in fact it was delicious. Timely delivery so didn't have to wait long.Chips and rice were great too.Definitely recommend it.
