Best fish and chips in the country. I do a 40 mile round trip just for the fish & chips

Found this place driving through Carryduff, the food was lovely we got 2 pasties and onion rings, staff lovely, very clean chippy. Worth a try.

Best chip shop around, great service & fab food

Portion sizes are a joke for the price , there must be a spud shortage in Carryduff

Ordered 2 chicken burgers with taco sauce small chip and 2 cans come to just shy of £20. The taco sauce is more like sweet chilli mayo deffo not the normal taco I was expecting. I would say the taco sauce tasted like Chinese food. The baps where also stale and fell apart easily. Chip was small for the price. Overall an ok experience but am unlikely to return sadly.

Just had our first fish supper and it was perfection. We'll definitely be back.

I was in the jolly fryer today at lunchtime and got a fish supper and a sausage supper there were good but fish was very small for price don't think be back very miserable portions

For the past 4 years The Jolly Fryer has been our local chippy and has been consistently top notch with crispy batter, meaty fish, great chicken, massive onions rings, perfect chips and amazing staff.

Very slow service, because everything cooked as order. Also phone never stopped taking orders. WELL WOTH THE WAIT. FOID DELICIOUS. Superb service from hard working staff. Can highly recommend this place, be prepared to waith. 👍👍👍👍👍

Great little chippy, kind of has a monopoly on the area and tends to be very busy. The food's great though. Delivery takes forever so maybe just pop in. And it's beside a cemetery

Amazing food and good customer care

Ordered just a bag of chips and was charged £3.30 and I have to say the portion was rubbish. I was handed the paper bag with the chips wrapped up so didn't see the portion until.i got home. So not impressed at all.

It's been a while from we had a dinner from The Jolly Fryer. It didn't disappoint. Absolutely delicious. My husband would be fussy when getting a cod supper. But he even commented that it was the nicest fish he had in ages.

Got a pastie and a fish my pastie was soggy and the batter was falling of the fish was very disappointed.

Stopped on the way home for a pastie. It hard to get a nice pastie!! The place was Covid compliant. The pastie and few chips were very nice, the staff were helpful and pleasant. I will definitely call again.

All staff had masks on, there was screens up on the counter and hand sanatizer sitting. Got a fish supper which was nice, I'm maybe to fussy but the chips were alright not sure what has changed the oil or whatever they fry them in for me not as nice as they used to be.

This is one of our local chippies, and the food is of great quality. We called close to closing time as the aroma of the food was making us hungry while we were out for a walk. There were a few other customers waiting when we arrived. The chef chatted to everyone on a personal level, which makes most of the customers go back on a regular basis

I'm. Not a chip shop person but the hunger over took I stopped by on my to my grandads. Nice warm welcome by the staff. The chips where freshly cut and had a home made taste. And the burger was one of the best I've had. Will definitely be back

We live in Newtownabbey, so not local, but whenever we are in this neck of the woods, a cod supper from the Jolly Fryer is a must for the journey home. I wish there were a branch nearer, as it's literally the best fish and chip shop ever, and always service with a big smile!!

First class chip shop! Great to see it go from strength to strength under new owners. The chips are among the nicest I have had from any chip shop or restaurant. In addition to the quality food, it's great to see some good old fashioned customer service from James and the team, who regularly thank customers by name as they leave the premises!

Good portions sausage's a bit on the small side and they don't do scampi clean and friendly

Best cod supper for miles and very friendly helpful staff. The menu is varied and lots of options for kids. Well worth a try and once you do you'll be back!

First Class traditional fish and chip shop

This place isnt amazing. We live quite far away and in the space of about a half hour I had to ring them 43 times before anyone bothered to answer.. Even when we got the food it wasn't that impressive.. We were even there on a wekkend and when we got there it wasn't busy so I fail to see how it took so long for someone to answer

Paying £5.10 for a battered sausage supper. Turns out I just got a small chip with two battered sausages. Isn't the first time this has happened sick of complaining to them directly won't be back. Overpriced small portions.
