Friendly locals pub with attendant characters ,loved it good prices on beers and well kept. Sports on TV and good background music would definitely go back

Nice and friendly place, dogs are allowed too so that's a big plus for me 🥂 I can't comment on food because I don't have any, but yeah il be visiting again in the near future

I was here on July passing through to Belfast on my motorbike, the staff and customers were all so friendly and welcoming and did everything they could to help me on my way. It was so good that I stopped by on the return leg home too, thank you all very much 😊

Are used to go to the joiners Arms but then then we used to call it the Nickname blue lugs Great time is it closed down for a while then it opened again and so beautiful meal meals I know that are used to love playing fives and threes dominoes A little game of darts not been a very long time since since I’ve been in do you wanna go anywhere no don’t drink like a food they are good good management which runs it now when I’m on the bus I can Looking open to go to Sainsbury’s you can see through the windows when you walk in by still looks brilliant I hope you enjoy it would have been telling you.? I would like to tell you a story when Church Street had quite a few pubs call the pheasant across the road joiners Arms the new cross the road the malt across the road again the The globe then we had the cellar where the Duke Woolpack Melbourne Arms them a great day as they are gone now most of us are dead we had some Come on them days only memories now with a damn good memories

Lovely very old booser in center of carlisle friendly place steeped in history .. been back a few times now .give it a try after youve done your shopping at sainsburys

Dropped by on way back 2 holiday apartment,bar staff fab got talking 2 2 girls who then asked us up 2 another pub turned in2 fab night 💖💖 Oh my friend had her first shot ever!!! Good times

Visited as a family for a quick tea. Went in and ordered food quickly. Group of older men in being a bit loud. Which we were OK with, kids totally didn't notice. Then the men got louder and their language became foul. Waited a little longer. The men drank more. They began discussing women in such a vulgar way. I then approached the lady behind the bar and explained I felt uncomfortable and quite frankly scared so I wanted to cancel my order. She became quite aggressive too. And to be honest didn't care that the men were being so rude and disrespectful. To be fair she shouldn't have to go to work and listen to the rubbish that they were coming out with. Overall a really bad experience. I really hope the lady who works there realises she deserves more respect.

Good atmosphere with a good pint.

SUNDAY 15.5.22 HAD MY SUNDAY DINNER HERE,ROAST BEEF,ROAST AND SMASHED POTATOS CARRATS ,CAULIFLOWER,CABBAGE AND TWO LARGE YORKSHIRE PUDDINGS AND PLENTY OF GRAVY.A FIRST CLSS MEAL AND THE ROASTBEEF WAS BEUTIFULL AND PLENTY OF IT.NICE BARMAID LISA.

Sunday roast beef dinner was awesome.

First time having Sunday dinner in the joiners it was absolutely beautiful and reasonably priced..will definitely be coming back.

Out of they way but worth the walk good value home made food

Booked a table with what seemed to be a very miserable person, but looking at the reviews, most being good I passed off the misery and booked in. When I arrived I couldn't find a car park , it appears it doesn't have one, phoned pub and was told to park outside it but there was already 2 cars there taking the space, told to park further down on kerb !!! Seriously... sainsbury next door offer 2.5 hrs free but only too shoppers and it is monitored so that's dodgy and after that your snookered so I sacked this off and went to the sun inn which has a car park and the food was fantastic and the staff were not miserable. Can't comment on how your food is as you can't go there if you have a car Everyone must be a local

Set up well during covid restrictions felt very safe, always has a real ale on as well as the usual mix of Guinness, lager, cider and bitter. Nice clean boozer.

Lovely pub! Amazing food, huge portions and such low prices, couldn't recommend enough

Served beer which had turned bad. Went to get round of something else, but the grumpy staff served the same bad beer again. When we told her it's not what we wanted, she went off in a huff and came back, with the replacements. As soon as my partner paid via contactless, the staff member quickly swiped away the card machine and claimed it didn't go through. I used my card instead but we have both been charged.

Lovely local pub. Food was lovely, reasonably priced and plentiful. Service was friendly and helpful.

Nice big portions and good prices, the staff were very attentive and excellent, I will be bringing my grandchildren next time :)

Waited 15 minutes for a drink wine measure for a medium Wine was poor one mouthful for nearly a fiver to dear never again. Charging nearly 5 pounds for a medium wine that only had a mouthful in is a joke couldn’t afford to drink there

Good drink and food every one made welcome

Had mixed experience of my previous experience in the premises, so I am open minded on the premises at this moment in time. As I have to say that I cannot say anything good about the premises but I have to say that I cannot say anything bad about the premises aswell. So this man is open minded on the premises at this moment in time.

Fantastic food. Not full marks for presentation but it is so cheap you cannot grumble.

Traditional pub offering a great selection of freshly cooked homemade food and a wide range of beers. Owners very friendly and hospitable. If you have had enough of the numerous trendy outlets that have sprung up in Carlisle city centre it’s worth the effort making the short trip out to the Joiners.

Little gem on the way to town, haven't tried food, but it looks and smells really good, good pints and awash with friendly old punters.

Popped in for a cheeky sherbert, stayed for a few. Very very reasonably priced JD and coke, was rude not to have a few more.

Great Sunday roast which I highly recommend, large plateful . One of the best I've had anywhere in the country. Drink is reasonably priced and a decent pint as well.

You won’t be disappointed all fresh veg homemade Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy I had the roast beef melt in the mouth Mam had pork dad had chicken we all enjoyed our meal friendly staff and as for the pub happy friendly and very clean

Dont get to carlisle that often but when I do its first port of call for food its very no sorry excellent quality good value.

3 course xmas dinner the soup was lovely homemade great on a cold day the prawn cocktail was large prawn and a very generous portion followed by the turkey dinner all fresh veg the turkey was moist Lagos Home cooking then final the pudding all I can say we where stuffed and for the prize it was amazing I be back next xmas

Mid week if looking for a pub in Carlisle that offers something different.There is a quiz on Thursday night starts about 8.45 to 9 ish. Afterwards there is BINGO. A friendly local with a good choice of beers and spirits.

called in the joiners for the first time in 15 years on a day out to Carlisle the real ales were spot on, and the dinner was exceptional and very large portions cooked to order. it is a real pub and Marion the landlady and staff were very friendly. strongly recommend the gammon or the steaks but all the meals were fantastic and good value for money.

Friendly staff great music, real home made food this is definitely one of the best bar meals you will get in the country, and I know as I have travelled all over the UK as a truck driver.👏 fresh and delicious 👍🏻

Lovely home cooked food very tasty the steak was cooked to perfection and the gammon was amazing value for money the pub was lovely and clean and warm and the staff where very friendly and most of all it was value for money

We went into the pub as we wanted to support our local. We always thought it looked a bit rough but we braved it and God I am pleased we did. We got a friendly welcome and the food was out of this world and very very cheap for the potion sizes. Highly recommended

Food is 5 star all fresh and home made, drink never a bad pint, crack is superb. Bar staff brill and Marion & kieth owners spot on. You won't get any better than Marion's cooking.

Newly reopened and refurbished after the Floods and it looks smashing. Really warm welcome, Pool Table and the food looked great (we weren't eating). Selection of three Real Ales available (all Theaksons). This will technically be my local shortly and I couldn't be happier about it.

The food is just tip top one of the best meals you will ever get
