Just walked in and asked what time food is served….. answer… ‘we don’t serve food’.

Didn't have food, great village pub.

Fabulous Sunday lunches at a good price. Meat is always lovely and plentiful, plus really generous portions of veg. Staff are lovely. Would book a table as it is always busy when we have been.

Lovely 'home cooked' food, very friendly staff, quiet Tuesday early bird menu, delicious. Good taste in background music.

Great food with good choice on menu to cater for most tastes. Excellent puddings. Really friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere but attentive to customers. Highly recommended.

Not bad is all I can say, we called in to try the meal deal they have, service was really good but unfortunately the food let it down, the risotto was pretty bland, the steak stroganoff was ok taste wise but the meat was tough. All in all ok for the price but we won’t return for food

Two of us had the Early Bird special, two meals for just £10.95. Great value for money!

The staff are very friendly and quick witted. Food is delicious and plenty of it. Not expensive for what you get.

Starters: Olives/tempura prawns and calamari (note: many more calamari than prawns) Mains: Mushroom chicken/softshell crab burger Dessert: Shared a vegan chocolate brownie Wine: Pinot Grigio Price: around £90 Really nice welcome and warm atmosphere. The food was great, service is tip top and the price fair for the quality. We also had a lunch there earlier in the day and they even elevated a simple stottie.

Good Sunday Lunch. Excellent service

Heard great things about this place, yet I am very disappointed. The service was shocking, we had to get our own menu and didn’t check up on us. The food was also poor. The mash was grey and lumpy and the roast dinner in general was cold. We never saw the waitress again after the food was served. Never again!

Lovely deep steak pie literally crammed with chunks of beef. Tasty gravy home made gravy. Plenty of fresh veg - cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli. Loads of roasties/chips again home made. Very nice to have fresh veg served on what was a weekday lunchtime outside of season/ school hols. All good in a nice old pub.

Absolutely fab had steak pie and chips partner had enchiladas. Staff freindly good. Will go there again. Great food and not to expensive. Thank you The Joiners Arms.

Brilliant Sunday lunch for 4. Fast service good food and generous helpings. The staff were friendly and helpful. Best to ring ahead and book a table because it is popular.

Nice village pub. Booked for family of 5 plus dog. Sunday dinner was great value at less than £10. Plenty of fresh vegetables, homemade Yorkshire puddings, very tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

Cannot rate this pub enough, we stayed 20 minutes away and decided to try as it had good ratings, boy it did not disappoint, the two ladies that served us (Dionne and sorry didn’t catch the other ladies name) were so welcoming, the food was amazing beyond belief and the price, well would of been happy if it was double it was that good. They welcomed us to stay for the Halloween party but unfortunately we were driving, 120 mile away but would drive back in a heartbeat, will definitely go again.!!!

We went on Sunday for my birthday, food was amazing, such friendly service and atmosphere. Highly recommend the Sunday Roast, definitely worth a visit.

good service and even better food! i came here from scotland with my family and one of my friends and we were staying at an airbnb down the road. it’s a pretty small pub but it’s very comfortable and the overall vibe is great! i definitely recommend coming here.

Has a meal with family for a birthday. The food could have been better. I had the lamb dish it was ok but not much lamb in the dish.

My husband and I went here one afternoon and ordered 2 hot beef sandwiches with chips , you couldn't cut the beef . Hence we won't be going back .

Quality food, great service & good value.

This was just like going home. The warm welcome we recieved was like being looked after by my mum. Friendly. Helpful. No rush excellent service. Wish you could have sat down and joined us. We were the table of 8 . Thankyou for making it very special.

Delicious food served by wonderful staff in a proper British pub, what more could you want. Be prepared to park on the road as there's limited car parking.

Lovely village pub serving good food at sensible prices, mind you my mixed grill was too much for me to eat! The garlic bread is awesome. Lovely relaxed bar area with nice beer and a few good whiskies to choose from Nice young people serving too. We will be back!

Myself and my partner had a Sunday lunch at the joiners..my partner is allergic to most meats and can only eat chicken so we ordered 2 chicken dinners which came out with beef gravy....the veg was under cooked and very hard I felt like I needed to use a hammer and chisel instead of a knife and fork...the roast potatoes on my partner's plate had been done using rotten potatoes and you could clearly see the back bits..it's fair to say we will not be back I'm now sat at home with a bad stomach

I had ordered some pizzas for collection, not only were they amazing, but the service and atmosphere even when waiting for the food was amazing. I will be back here for a cold pint!

First time visit, it was Burns night the landlord was in a kilt and along with some of the locals recited one of his poems! Raffle and games, with money raised going to a local cause. Food was great, staff and locals very friendly, real ale so what more could you want. A real village pub. Will be back👍

Friendly pub always trying to do it's best for the community.

Was there for a wake, so didn't really experience the pub as a whole. Small cosy bar area, small back reception area. Food we had was OK but nothing exciting.

Cosy country pub with lovely staff

Such a wholesome pub there is always something interesting to see or do there such as cheese nights and open mics but if that isn't your jam there are great accepting people who you can sit with at the bar have a drink and just have a great time. Also if the bar isn't your cuppa tea the restaurant is to die for with meat and veggie and some vegan options there is food for everyone. They can accommodate for all people such as my mam who is allergic to all peppers and chilli and they adjust the food so there is non of that what so ever so it's safe for her to eat all the way to the salad garnish. I would highly recommend going to the joiners either for a meal, the people or the bar just have a walk in and feel the warmth of Hunwick's joiners arms.
