The Imperial Chinese Restaurant in Calderdale

An absolutely fantastic Restaurant, great quality food and menu, authentic, great atmosphere and cosy and warm, had a lovely welcome and entertainment from the Manager Sharon. The staff are great, can't recommend this place enough give it a try you will love it.

Went for my daughters birthday staff went the extra mile and when we turned up they decorated the table off the there own backs food was amazing and staff were fantastic 👏

My partner and I visited this little gem last weekend and what a find ! We were going to get a takeaway but decided to eat in. The food was amazing with the best salt and pepper chips I’ve ever tasted ! At first glance the prices seemed on the expensive side but it includes your rice or chips with it so overall it’s reasonable. It comes well presented aswell. The staff were lovely and attentive nothing too much trouble explaining what the different dishes were Sharon is a little bit bonkers and worth a visit just to meet her 😂 Would highly recommend looking forward to visiting again soon.

What a lovely little place. The small menu means less worry for the chef and more focus on quality. And it shows. I thoroughly recommend the Kimchi soup. Great flavour, great heat and dish.

An excellent meal at the Imperial and thanks to Sharron for her fantastic service, she kept us entertained and kindly gave us all our desserts on the house. Sharron, you raise us up.

It may not look like a proper traditional Chinese restaurant but the foods are great and the people who work there are very friendly.

The food arrived on time and was correct, but the taste and quantity was poor. Will never order again from here, toast or coco pops beat it.

I usually get a takeaway to collect. The food is lovely, although a little pricier than I’d like The staff are all lovely and I can always collect quickly. The only dish I’m not keen on is the curry, but other dishes I’ve tried, including the starters, are completely satisfying

Serene and simple but beautiful atmosphere, excellent customer service, excellent dishes. I chanced on this restaurant on my way from brighouse to Bradford and just made a stop to eat and continued my journey.. I would love to visit again

Excellent service from start to finish absolutely everything was of a high quality and value for money . Staff very friendly and with plenty of smiles good manners and dresses to a very smart and clean standard. The atmosphere here is super positive and a great feel and vibe . Child friendly good space between tables upstairs seating available and cash and card accepted . Highly recommended

First time going to The Imperial and everything from going in to going out was fantastic! Welcomed in and had a drink before going to the table and Sharon went through the menu and looked after us throughout and had a few laughs with us. The serving size is just right with the food and the presentation was beautiful too. The taste was beautiful, real flavour to the food. The prices are just right. Will 100% be going again! Thanks again for the beautiful meal. Nice selection for vegetarians too!

Visited with my girlfriend who has a gluten allergy. Can thoroughly recommend. The food was superb and very friendly and tentative service. They offer a dedicated gluten free menu which meant a stress free dining experience for my girlfriend. The Hong Kong honey roast pork was amazing. My girlfriend had the sour and spicy Po Po Chicken. If ever we are in the area again we shall return.

First time here, the food, atmosphere and staff were incredible. Food was very fresh and tasty with lots to choose from. The atmosphere was cosy and comfortable. The staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived and well, what can we say about Sharon. She is the best hostess and will offer any help and advice as well as friendly chat to make you feel at home. Price to portion size, excellent. Overall an absolutely amazing experience for all the right reasons and we will definitely be returning 🤩

The food was excellent I had sweet and sour chicken my partner had sweet and sour king prawn, the host Sharron was really friendly and helpful it was the best Chinese restaurant we have ever been too will be going back very soon

Lovely place inside food is amazing and well what can I say about Sharon she was absolutely brilliant character explaining all the difference foods on the menu and having a laugh. All the staff were excellent and we will definitely be coming back.

Lovely evening with family Great food and good service

First time visiting this restaurant, as our usual place was full. Was pleased as soon as we walked in, very nice atmosphere staff are very helpful and polite. The owner is lovely and me asked you feel welcome from the off. Food was amazing with a great choice of dishes. Sharon was brilliant, a great laugh and very attentive. We all loved hearing our fortune for the Chinese New Year. We can't wait to return, what an amazing place to done.

Take out food. As I remember proper Chinese food, not the typical greasy food you get from some takeaway places! Highly recommended m.

Have been looking for a new Chinese Restaurant, and so glad we found this place! The food was superb! Portion sizes were good without being over faced, and the staff and service was excellent! Big shout out to Sharron who took so much time to chat with us, and was so friendly, talking us through the menu, giving us descriptions of the dishes, and then telling each of us our fortunes for the new Lunar year! Felt really personal and friendly. Also big shout out to Lucy, who's first night it was, but despite that was friendly and chatty and provided us with excellent service. I'd give more than five stars if I could.

Went there for a meal with friends. It was one of our friends birthday. Restaurant staff called a couple of hours before booking and asked if it was a special occasion. I told them it was and when we got to the restaurant, our table was decorated for the persons birthday. Even got a sparkler in the buns we brought with us. Food was amazing. Another fabulous meal here tonight for my birthday. First time visit for one of my friends. Excellent choice of dishes including catering for those with dietary requirements and very tasty. Sharon who is the manager is always pleasant, attentive and treats you like a friend she's known for years. Great staff with excellent service. Thank you Kitty for another lovely evening.

Some friends and I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Imperial in Hipperholme. We arrived in the town late on Saturday, and were searching for some food after a long journey. Despite the late hour, Sharon and her team couldn’t have been more welcoming. We were treated to an excellent meal including Satay Tofu, Po po chicken and sweet and sour chicken (all delicious!) Next time we’re in the area, we’ll certain be back!

Had a fabulous meal, delicious and good portions. The coffee was as many top ups as we wanted ...nice touch 😁 Very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Nice decor and I have to comment that the toilets were lovely and clean .... something that some places neglect, but not here 👍 Can't wait to return 😁

Our first time at rhe Imperial and it certainly won't be our last. What a lovely find. Friendly welcome and shown straight to our table. We had three courses and thoroughly enjoyed each one. We will certainly be giving this place another try and recommend it to all. Sorry no photos, Next time.

Just had a lovely meal here. Great tasting food, especially the crispy duck pancakes. This cuisine is not what i usually go for and i was more than pleasantly surprised. Huge portion sizes and extremely efficient service. Sharon is incredibly friendly and attentive, and like a family member ensured we were well looked after and cared for. Will be returning!

It's relatively new, Chinese food can be hit or miss so we went with an open mind. The menu looked great, with veggie and gluten free menus with plenty on there. Starters were good, the main course was excellent! We will be back!

Was reccomended from family member so gave it a try. Food was tasty, I ordered a share starter box, bbq ribs and special chow mein and fried rice. Starter box was small for the price I paid. And the ribs were dry with no bbq Chinese sauce. Disappointed was an understatement ! In total it came to just over 30 quid, I quote my partner "most pricey Chinese I've ever been to". Won't be coming back, sorry!

Very average Chinese, and quite expensive tbh.. Spent over £30 and didn't even get free prawn crackers which is pretty standard at every Chinese takeaway. Will I go again...? Probably NOT.

Just had an amazing takeaway from Imperial! The food was excellent and I personally recommend the Shredded Crispy Beef, but everything was superb. Great service too. We will definitely be going back again and will book in the restaurant as soon as we're allowed. Well done to everyone at Imperial!

Ordered a take away for 3 people while visiting family, was ready in 20 minutes. Good sized portions especially the mixed starter, and tasted better than my local one. Will use again.

Had a wonderful experience here this evening. The service was first class, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, other diners interacted with us and made us feel very welcome. We had dim sum to share and it was delicious. I had the roast duck in plum sauce which was done to perfection. Highly recommended and will definitely be back. Thank you.

Four of us went for Tapas at 18:00. The food and staff were brilliant. It was quiet but we will be back. We did go back and enjoyed another excellent meal. One son is vegetarian and he loves it too. (This review was for the previous restaurant specifically the upstairs which was called The Loft)

First time had Christmas dinner in a restaurant, the set menu was fantastic & the service Was second to none. Will defiantly be going back.

Lovely home cooked food and friendly staff

A recent visit with friends, first the negatives, Sat in a small cosy room next to the bar no IPA, only in bottle or real ale and couple of world widely available tasteless lagers. Small micro brewery 1/4 mile away why not support local producers? Secondly loud inappropriate music more suited to Radio1 not a Brasserie with clearly not a teenage clientele, however the amplitude was reduced on request. Thirdly no salt on any table that I could see only pepper. I do not want to be lectured on healthy eating I am out to enjoy myself, seasoning is my choice. OK that's the bad bits, the meal was good quality, well cooked, the staff were friendly and attentive. I would return hoping to see some improvements.

Lovely Sunday lunch, just need more people to fill the place up. Cannot fault waiting staff, very attentive. Food excellent, but had to mark less than 5 star purely on the fact it was so quiet. Get booking people, we'll certainly be back.
