Michelin starred food but not quite Michelin starred service, and that's taking nothing away from the staff, who were lovely. At this level and with these price points, it's the little things that elevate. Some of the things we saw were streaky wine glasses, serving food while people were away from the table, and not having stock of drinks. The latter especially odd as the drinks menu was small. The food itself was of a high calibre. Everything was cooked to perfection. Really, really impressed with some of the dishes, and the sea trout sticks out especially. The venue is lovely. Probably around 50 covers total although the atmosphere slightly ruined by the group behind us being a little too free-flowing with the wine. It's not wetherspoons, gang. They even interrupted when the chef was talking us through the evening. They had the self-awareness to shush themselves, I guess. A lovely evening all in all. We'll be back.

Harewood Food and Drink Project supper clubs at The Hovels are an all round wonderful experience! We have been twice now for special occasions and enjoyed amazing tasting menus from various Michelin star chefs and always treated ourselves to the drinks pairings. The HF&DP staff are wonderful and attentive, the whole experience is a treat but not too pretentious or on ceremony. The venue is gorgeous and unique. Would be a fantastic venue for a small wedding or celebration!
