The Hovels in Leeds

We had an amazing day celebrating our wedding at this intimate venue. The setting was beautiful and felt really personal, which was exactly what we wanted. Josh was brilliant and very adaptable - from making sure everything ran smoothly on the day and even visiting me on the morning with Prosecco which was a lovely touch. The food was excellent and we’re so glad we can come back for a meal and to remember the day. Such special memories here. Can’t wait to return!

We had the dream of having our wedding reception here in March. We knew this was the venue for us from first driving down the road to it! Josh is an absolute credit to The Hovels - he was incredible - from visiting me whilst getting ready in the morning (with Prosecco..!) to ensuring the whole day ran perfectly. We were completely at ease knowing the day was in safe hands. The food & drink is exceptional. The venue is beautiful - it has the kind of character you cannot fake. We'd been to see a lot of venues before the Hovels was suggested to us and from the moment we saw it we knew that it would be the place for us. We knew we wanted a smallish wedding and the atmosphere in the Hovels was perfect. The glass really gives the room a light, airy feel even on a cloudy day. They have stretch tent outside which is perfect for lovely evenings and there are a lot of other extra things that they can do to really make the space look beautiful. They also have a bar onsite and a huge field (we covered it in lawn games). Josh and the team were fantastic to work with. They do in house catering and we haven't heard the end of it yet from our guests. The food is stunning and sourced from the Harewood Estate. On the evening they were really helpful, made sure we had everything. They really made the day so much smoother than I was expecting. Honestly, it was the perfect venue. Thank you!

Myself and my partner got married at the Hovels last Saturday- I would recommend this venue to ANYONE who wants a gorgeous day! The staff and Josh (event manager) really does go above and beyond for their couples. The day was everything we wanted and more. All our guests commented on what a stunning venue it is and how incredible the food was. Honestly words cannot express how grateful we are. The flexibility and attentiveness of Josh is something quite special to the Hovels- you will not find other staff like him at other venues.

Had the pleasure of shooting the amazing wedding of Ross and Kate at The Hovels on New Year's Eve 2024. The weather was a bit stormy to say the least but we made the most of the beautiful and intimate building to capture some lovely wedding photography. The couple stayed at the holiday cottages on site which were stunning and great to photograph the wedded day bridal prep. The staff were very helpful, espoused Josh, who made the whole day as stress free as possible and I was lucky enough to sample the food too. Simply delicious!! Michelin starred food but not quite Michelin starred service, and that's taking nothing away from the staff, who were lovely. At this level and with these price points, it's the little things that elevate. Some of the things we saw were streaky wine glasses, serving food while people were away from the table, and not having stock of drinks. The latter especially odd as the drinks menu was small. The food itself was of a high calibre. Everything was cooked to perfection. Really, really impressed with some of the dishes, and the sea trout sticks out especially. The venue is lovely. Probably around 50 covers total although the atmosphere slightly ruined by the group behind us being a little too free-flowing with the wine. It's not wetherspoons, gang. They even interrupted when the chef was talking us through the evening. They had the self-awareness to shush themselves, I guess. A lovely evening all in all. We'll be back.

Harewood Food and Drink Project supper clubs at The Hovels are an all round wonderful experience! We have been twice now for special occasions and enjoyed amazing tasting menus from various Michelin star chefs and always treated ourselves to the drinks pairings. The HF&DP staff are wonderful and attentive, the whole experience is a treat but not too pretentious or on ceremony. The venue is gorgeous and unique. Would be a fantastic venue for a small wedding or celebration!
