My local Chinese takeaway recently closed permanently, so I thought I’d try this as it popped through the letter box, I’m very glad I tried it, I’m fussy and this was very good !! Best chow mien Iv ever had, full of flavour, everything was hot and fresh, not greasy,good prices,polite lady taking orders, special fried rice was very good and fresh, the ingredients are fresh so that’s nice,delivery driver very very polite and kind, I’d say maybe a little bit more meat in the large pancake rolls would be nice but on a whole I’ll be making this my usual Chinese. Very good !!

Got to be the best Chinese in Romford very nice food got it delivered and come nice and hot I ordered direct via telephone if you order on just eat the prices are inflated so best to go direct nice big portions quick delivery

We had menu through the post so glad We ordered lady on the phone was very polite and helpful, food turned up fresh hot and within the hour, king prawn balls were delicious all the food was yummy and fresh highly recommend. delicious

Good take away restaurant in Romford, the food quality is always good and the food I think good value....and when I have been in there,the lady on the counter always friendly and polite.

The three stars given is not a reflection on the food or service. It is solely on the fact of the recent astonishing price increases, on average £2 - £4 per dish. Absolutely shocking. I have been using Hot Wok for about 20yrs and will unfortunately have to now go elsewhere purely due to the cost. Such a shame they have chosen this course of action. Having a website doesn’t mean you have to fleece your customers…

My girlfriend loves the place, i find it good but not amazing, went a few times, will probably go again.

Used to be an excellent takeaway now smaller portions stuffed with onions to make up the difference. The chilli beef turned up dry and well overcooked. I have been going to this place for over 30 years but not any more.

The rice is amazing and tasty, great service and the delivery was quite quick too.

Order from The Hot Wok on a fairly regular basis and usually have an excellent experience with them. However tonight, I ordered at 19:41 and by 20:41 I had not received my order, so I attempted to call them, however after 171 attempts and 20 minutes later they eventually answered the phone to tell me they are a bit busy, and that my delivery was next to go out, my order eventually turned up at 21:25. Thankfully the food was hot and very tasty!!

Just had meal form the hot wok in romford I must say it is the best I have ever tasted so lovely would recommend this Chinese to everyone fantastic and a very good price

I really enjoy the dishes and service, excellent location close to my residence. Big fan of the Roast Duck Chow Mein, definitely recommend. The place serves big portions and for affordable prices, love it!

Just ordered for the first time. Absolutely amazing and tasty food and very fresh. I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, large beef chow mein and pancake rolls. Everything was absolutely fresh and the sweet and sour sauce and curry sauce was sooo tasty. Would highly recommend 10 out of 10. The lady who took my order was very polite, quick delivery and this is now my number 1 Chinese to order from. And to the horrible people that posted bad reviews you need to get your taste buds checked. Well done to all of the staff and chef and this take away x

The food is very bland. My chilli beef was all dry at the top.Barbecue spare ribs cold and the barbecue sauces like jelly. Salt and pepper wings well overcooked the meat is dry. I can make better Chinese than this 👎🏽

Normally the food is good. I made an order last night around half past 10. The delivery only took 20mins. The chicken was very tough to chew and taste less. The rice was half cooked and still hard. Nearly broke my tooth a few times. Woke up this morning at half 5 throwing my guts up everywhere. Will never be eating from this place again. I warn you all to think carefully before you order !!!

The hot wok used to be brilliant. What's Happened? The only way I can describe the food these days is tasteless...the noodles are lacking in the dark soy sauce flavour which gives the food that saltiness which I personally liked. And I've also noticed that it's lost that smokeyness from the wok it used to have. Could this food be microwaved? Looking to try somewhere else. Review update. 20/10/18 The noodles are bland and tasteless as above description. What a great shame this Chinese takeaway used to be my favourite. It did improve for a while and the noodles were great however back to bland. Sorry 2 stars.
