The Horse & Rainbow in South Lakeland

Great atmosphere. Poor service from the bar staff - serves regulars 1st despite being at the bar before them which is a shame as customers were walking out

Used to be a good pub. Current management seem clueless. Place has gone to the dogs. Park your car at your peril…. Avoid walking through either broken glass or dog mess seems to be a fly tippers heaven. As for the pub, tired and run down looking. Smelly,ripped stained seating. Landlady stood behind bar swearing. Dirty glasses, flat beer . I could go on buts its endless. Craft union need to wake up and put some decent management in.

Bar staff made no effort to deal with a drunk and abusive person who was clearly trying to provoke a fight! Not a pleasant pub to visit and won't be returning anytime soon! Not a good advertisement for Kendal!

2 4 1 drinks were an excellent idea (through the company, not the bar it’s self) and we were thoroughly pleased by this. However, we arrive on quiz night, to be greeted with a table of clearly regularly teenage screaming girls who ruined the whole night for us. Screaming vulgar words, swearing consistently, screeching to the point where it went straight through you and made your ears hurt. Not at one point did the pub tell them to quieten down or ask them to stop swearing. This ruined our night and we couldn’t participate in the quiz night as we couldn’t concentrate due to their screaming. The card machine stopped working once our round of drinks had been poured but also for the people previously however after persistence it worked for them however after 2 goes we got told the cash machine is around the corner so our response was that we’ll go. We’re currently sat in ye olde fleece in having a much better night with considerably less noise.

Llegas a este lugar por un callejón que se abre a un gran jardín de cerveza al entrar y es recibido por una gran cantidad de pantallas de televisión que muestran carreras de caballos de diferentes lugares del mundo, todo el mundo parece estar pasando un buen rato y fue muy amable. servido rápidamente con una sonrisa y un saludo y solo pagó 1. 95 por mi pinta que fue excelente volví todos los días

Visited The Horse and Rainbow on a Monday for an evening drink. The pub is very pleasant and well presented and the real ale is very good at reasonable prices. However, the experience was spoilt by the foul mouthed female customers who were in the pub. They had no consideration for who else could hear their foul and abusive language and the bar staff made no attempt to curb their language or behaviour. Such a shame because this pub, with a landlord who could control their customers, could be a cracker.

Arrived here Saturday afternoon . Fair enough it's a bank holiday wkend. At first we sat outside , disgusting!!! language ,No concern what so EVER for ladies present . Moved inside. No different , worse . Such a shame .good clean pub, good service , tolerance let's this place down . I pay the same as the foul speakers, l shouldn't have to put up with their disgusting mouths .

Called in a few bars in Kendal. The Horse and Rainbow was OK, nothing out of the ordinary. Good choice of beer, good bar staff and a decent atmosphere. OK for a pint or 2
