McDonald's in South Lakeland

Probably one of the best McDonald’s I’ve ever been too with a lovely view of Ulverston lighthouse, food was as expected from McDonald’s but the staff where very polite, friendly and helpful, one of the staff members in particular noticed we where on holiday due to our accents and he made conversation with us about what we had planned and about the area in general which was a nice way to start our time away.

Waited 45 minutes for our food and haven’t even got it yet , machine was bugged , showed my approved card transaction but they said they can only make the food if it’s on the board , had to spend another £30 , £60 overall spent and only got half of my profit , ruined my sons birthday.

Nothing better than waiting 30 mins to get the wrong burger made by a 14 year old. You'd expect it to be better or quicker next time you go, but it isn't.

Shocking, 30 mins for the food to come out. Came out cold and the staff were mute. Also the bins were overflowing.

Possibly the worst McDonalds I’ve visited, always a 15 minute wait for food even when the store is quiet, food is never warm. I thought I’d give their new lemonade a try today and this was the portion I was given.

Used the app as it's "quicker". Went in drive thru. Told to park up which is fine as they will be out with it shortly.... 30mins later.... my dinner break has finished. Rush back to work to find they didn't even put the steakhouse burger in. What a joke. Revisit the store to be looked at like i was the one in the wrong. Crazy.

Very slow service, witnessed several orders other customers had to bring back that they got wrong. After we finally got the food we found one of the items in our order missing. Definitely needs someone to manage the operations side of things, wish I had gone somewhere else.

It doesn’t warrant a star rating but I had to put 1 star as there wasn’t an option for minus stars . Continuous Shocking wait times at least 10- 20minutes every visit, food is always cold, every visit, the staff are slow and very unmotivated. I understand there are busy periods but even when it’s not busy the service and the food is less than satisfactory. Improvements in all areas are recommended.

I wonder if they ever serve food through the Drive thru window or just used them to tell people to go wait in the car park for 20 minutes. Food is fine but the order is rarely correct and never on time.

Repeated errors on orders in the drive through, would recommend checking your bag before driving off

Used the drive thru. Asked to wait on the car park as food not ready. After 10 minutes had to go inside and ask for the order, still had to wait a further 5 mins inside. Poor service

After waiting for 3 mins at drive thru eventually got food and it was crap Chips cold and apple pie stone cold probably the worst mcdonolds I've been in will definitely be avoiding from now on

Kids arsing around in the kitchen. Cold food and sloppy presentation. Avoid.

I enjoyed their beef burger, fries, and drinks. The customer service and ambience were both decent. There’s plenty of parking available in front of the restaurant.

Totally minging, the place is filthy. Childrens touch screens covered in greasy fingerprints. Screens are filthy. Floor is disgusting. This place must never get cleaned

Went the other day on our way home they shut the store because they had no staff. The food wasn't great. The chips were empty but they did give us more to replace them. The door was locked though so it took me a while to get back in. Getting out with the food, drinks and a child wasn't fun either when you have to press the green button twice to get out with no free hands! Over all not a great experience. The drive thru was shut too which was what we originally wanted to do before our hour and a half drive home.

No fast food here! Slowest drive thru on the planet! The place is run by ignorant and incompetent youths.

Possibly the filthiest McDonalds Ive ever been to. Visited 8:15am and used the bathroom. Sink had a spat out half chewed chicken nugget in, clearly from the night before. Mirror was filthy. How can it be left in such a state. Aren’t the staff the night before supposed to leave it clean for the morning shift? Failing that, the place had been open for well over an hour an a half but not cleaned? Bins overflowing. Needs Management intervention to bring it up to scratch. Sorry Macs won’t be back to this one

This is the Slowest McDonald's I have ever been in.

Near as dame it in darkness even though it was open, food was fast and.piping hot, is there a restriction on external lighting ?? Why o why o why please drive to grill bay no others cars and the food was nearly there before we were ???

Absolutely disgusting 🤢 went in at 6pm and the restaurant was empty apart from 3 people sat in. Ordered my food and it still took 20-25 minutes for it to be ready! Every table was disgusting with food and rubbish on the tables and floor and all the bins inside and outside were overflowing! There was members of staff just stood around doing nothing

Went this morning with my family. This place was DISGUSTING! Nuggets all over the floor from the night before. The tables not cleaned, literally food everywhere. Had to take my children to the toilet before we left and they were so dirty! This place needs a shut down and deep clean!

Very slow even when there's hardly anyone there. Food was ok, but egg wasn't set properly. At least it was clean. Training needed.

Waiting time for food - drive through. Took about 15 minutes at 11.15pm.

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolute shambles fast food my arse. Be quicker buying the food from supermarket, driving home, and cooking it yourself. Milkshake machine never working, McFlurry machine never working. Worst of all staff sound like they’re constantly hungover or stoned. Would not recommend.

Slowest McDs I've ever been to. 10 minutes minimum here, and once it took 25 minutes! It doesn't seem to make a difference if you order inside, or use the drive through, or buy on the app - it is always extremely slow for daytime food. Breakfast service is a lot quicker at around 2-3 minutes. There is a children's park outside, but it is closed about half the time I go. There is no sign to say what the opening times are for the park.

Got all the orders wrong then ended up with cold meals as while they were sorting out what was wrong they left the original correct orders in the bag !! Very poor

Restaurant is not looked after, litter everywhere, staff preoccupied chatting with each other, orders arrive painfully slowly, about 20 minutes for a simple order when I visited. The next time I visited I used the drive-thru, this was only mildly quicker than the counter service, about 15 min. Possibly quicker to visit barrow McDonalds. The place could do with a visit from an area manager as the staff are clearly running the place into the ground.

Always cold food, always get sent to park through drive through, even when quite. Worst mcdonalds in area!

Took 55mins from placing an order to receiving food. Table service none existent. After chasing the order we got it, all stone cold apart from the coffee! Seems like other customers in similar situation, ended up only getting your order after chasing it.

I said , I wouldn't go here again, we usually takeaway, but the order is Always wrong. But wanted to treat my kids 😕. Any nothing major missing like 2 portions of chicken selects, like another time. Paid for 2 tubs of garlic mayo. Got 1. Ordered all sauces and they where all wrong. Absolute pants, she even read the order off the bag as they went in. Won't use this branch again. Was paying cash, ignored at the till for 5 minutes. It wasn't busy, staff just hanging around talking. Totally ignorant.

The wait in the queue is the most atrocious wait of your life, I ordered a cheeseburger and it took about 20 minutes for the car in front to move, and another 10 for my food to come out the window, I do not recommend.

Don’t waste your time or money getting anything from here. The restaurant was empty and loads of staff stood around in the kitchen yet my food still took ages, and when it finally arrived, it was cold. The coffee was disgusting, the burgers were drowned in tomato sauce and chips were cold and hard. They brought out new food, but it seemed like they had just reheated elements of the old meal and squirted cream on the same coffee.

Bit of a shambles. Food always takes ages, take away miss items regularly, staff run around like headless chickens while tables are full of rubbish. Seems leaderless and chaotic even when not busy.

Very small amount of chips. Kids got more in there happy meal! Big mac really cold. Coffee was spot on.

Ended up waiting literally 30 minutes for a 3 item order… The limited staff members moved with as much haste as the sloths from ‘Zootropolis’. Once the order arrived, there were ingredients missing and the food was literally thrown together, that I may as well have put it all into a blender before attempting to eat it. In the time taken I could’ve probably travelled to Barrow, ordered and received food. This place needs to desperately sort out clear staffing issues.

Very kind staff, and serverd our meal very fast! The building is very nice and clean.

Service has never been good here, but today was the worst ever. I only ordered a big Mac and a bottle of juice. After a 20 minute wait, I chased it to find it was sitting on the side. Half hearted apology. Now cold, I asked for a replacement...the clock starts again. I didn't get a fresh one. Shocking!

Fries tasted like they had been made the day before

Visited on Saturday the 30th at around 12pm and the drive through staff were lovely! Only thing I can criticise is the chips were SO salty I had to throw them away

Ordered a breakfast meal and had o wait 20 minutes for it and when i received it not even a sorry for the delay. The muffin wasn't even wrapped up properly.

It wasn't "fast" service! Very slow service! Manual door on side of premises was very slow to shut itself; very drafty. Inside bin/ service hatch to put rubbish in, very dirty; had not been recently cleaned. There were incessant bleeping alarms going off in the kitchen which over the time we ate our meal, became very unpleasant.I have not encountered this in a McDonald's before( I wonder if that is why the music was so loud!). Rath er a let down on the whole. When the food finally arrived, it was fine but certainly wouldn't rush back to this branch. A regular customer said too much priority was given to the drive through, at the expense of customers coming through the door. The majority of my reviews I post are very favourable, I like to highlight good service but they are given on merit.

Absolute joke of a mcdonald’s, no urgency for their orders, got to the drive through and it was almost empty, have now been sat here ten mins with the queue going the full way round

Waited 30 mins for food that turned up cold and looked like some one had stood on it got grunted at when I took the food back and the staff were talking about me behind the counter as I was stood waiting for the replacement food

Don’t understand what’s going on here. 2nd time I’ve been in and same experience. Bins overflowing, tables dirty, no one serving. People have to shout at the till to get someone’s attention to be served. They appear once every 5 mins with one order. It took 35 mins to get a Big Mac and chips. When I asked the fella if he was short staffed he said no 😂

Quite a small Maccies but it does what you came for, tends to be slower than most other ones I've been to.

Totally disgusting. Lazy unhelpful staff that do not clean. Ketchup smeared tables and chairs and cold food, avoid at all costs.

The place was filthy. The bins inside hadn't been emptied for ages and were overflowing. The tables hadn't been wiped down and had bits of the last persons meal. My frustration were soggy and cold.....They were probably cooked some time last year! And my burger was dripping fat! Not a great experience..... Not cooked with pride! I don't vist MD's often....but the Ulverston site hit rock bottom a bad image for McDonald's.....and waiting for a outbreak of some nasty food related bug I should think.

No illumination we thought it was closed! No atmosphere, no staff visible - no energy! People waiting around for their food, it's not like a normal McDonald's there is no visibility of the kitchen or staff - even the monitor advising orders to be collected wasn't working correctly - a dire experience. Food wasn't great McRib sauce and unions on one end of the bun dry on the opposite end. McCrispy bread hard, chicken not crispy no mayo or lettuce! At least the Big Mac was OK!

McD's is a brand with universal standards and food options across the board but somehow this location just seems to do it /worse/.

For a fast food restaurant, it has the wait times of fine dining. Staff can't put orders together correctly despite there being a list of what's on the order. If you want to wait 15 minutes for a burger that takes 1 minute to put together, this is the place for you

Has to be the slowest snd worst outlet in country a new meaning to ultra slow cold food every time we or our friends go..the drive through is a 30 min job even when empty.. the management need to sort it

What a disgusting place!! Dirty, unkept, tables filthy and not cleared. Could barely find a clean seat. Toilets disgusting. When I asked a team member if they were short staffed he said no but he hadn’t been in the restaurant area for a while…all day he should have said, or should that have been ‘grunted’!! What a miserable little man!! Not happy in his job at all! Food was totally average, cold fries and had to ask for them to be replaced, no milkshakes and no sauces in the dispensers!! Maybe time for a spot inspection Mac Donald’s!!

If this place had been cleaner, I would have given it 5 stars. The food was 1st class the restaurant, however, was in desperate need of a clean. The staff were lovely.

Bins overflowing people leaving customers with no choice but to leave rubbish on nearby tables. Nostaff seen on the shop floor throughout our visit. I went to look for the shift manager, staff stood around in the kitchen area, including the female manager. When I complained about the state of the whole place and the number of flies around her response was “ok thanks”. There place was not busy, no excuse just very poor management

Went in late at night after a 12 hour shift wanting food. Terrible customer service there was people who didnt have uniform behind the counter. Staff were rude. Only good thing is that food tastes nice. Never going again.

One of the dirtiest McDonald's... Trash cans overflowing, windows full of greasy fingers, more fries and waste under the tables, tables very dirty. We cleaned our table ourselves with water and toilet paper. And then we also noticed that the toilets were not very clean. It wasn't very neat behind the bar either. Terrible!!

Not too busy place, vanilla and chocolate shakes are good also hot chocolate. Well maintained washrooms with disabled people can accessible. Kids friendly place with a lot of playing equipment

Great place to grab a bite. Even though I only bought ice cream, the service was good and well done to the professional young man who served with a smile for all customers. Atmosphere was friendly.

How can a McDonald’s get it so wrong??? Honestly nobody here cares about service or the food served. Orders often wrong, staff never friendly or even interested and if you go into restaurant it’s dirty every time. I’ve had burgers with pretty much every garnish missing and my latest Big Mac had a bun off another burger (not an issue if the rest is ok) but there was no lettuce really between layers and this seems to be the norm here. It was even worse with the quarter pounder ‘deluxe’ which had barely anything other than bun and Pattie. Honestly it’s embarrassing how a maccies can be so bad!!

At first I put the slow service and below par food to it being the teething problems of a new McDs. Unfortunately a couple of years have passed and it's still the same. This last visit had me waiting 20 mins at the drive thru with someone eventually finding the order behind the counter.

Used the park and delivery service. Which was quick and the staff member was very friendly. The order was as expected and tasted as expected. Price ok also.
