We ordered a bespoke cake for a special celebration. The ordering process was simple, the uploading of photos was easy and the staff were very friendly. The cake was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The victoria sponge moist, the buttercream was excellent and the icing was a work of art. Keep up the good work.

Ordered a bespoke birthday cake for my dad’s 90th birthday & totally blown away by the end result; a beautifully moist tasty square Victoria sponge with a amazing camera on top which was the centrepiece at the party & a huge talking point with all the family. The ordering process was simple, quick & easy, would totally recommend for a special occasion.

Wow! Awesome birthday cake. Asked for a birthday cake in the shape of the collosseum for my wife's birthday. It surpassed all my expectations and, most importantly, my wife loved it. The attention to detail was stunning. Price was very good given the quality and size of the cake. Felt bad about having to cut it up to let people eat but it also tasted great. Couldn't be happier with the service.

Ordered a birthday cake for my daughters. Everything went well until we went to eat the cake. It was awful. The sponge was not right. It was hard, grainy and there was a strange smell. The strawberry's come to think of it, on top were not fresh either. I had collected it on the saturday as they were not open on sunday's. Like everyone else, we have bought lots of cakes over years. No issues. Emailed in and was told that the cake was fine. It was just me. The owner said they made other cakes out the same batch. There is no evidence other than feedback from paid employees and invisable customers. No refund was going to be paid out but i was offered 20% off. Cunning way of getting me to pay again. No thank you. Once bitten, twice shy. Then the guilt was laid on to stop me putting a review up of it being a small business. But, the cake was paid for from our small business. Was made to feel embarrassed infront of our guests and the girls were upset. £45, plus fuel and time. Wasted!!!!

This is one of my favourite places for cake! I live in Glasgow but it's well worth the train trip to have a cake and cuppa at The Honeybee Bakery. There's always a new sweet goodie to try and their savouries (pizza, focaccia and quiche) are excellent as well. There's a lovely atmosphere in the cafe, there's plenty of space to sit without feeling crowded and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. They also do take-away - so make sure you bring some cake (or pizza!) with you home!

I ordered a birthday cake for my wife's 60th. I wanted an autumn leaves theme as my wife paints and does eco printing. I originally spoke to one of the staff at the bakery who gave me the baker's (Victoria) email address and said I could contact her with details of what type of cake I wanted. After a few emails back and forth we decided on the design and the cake was ready on the date in question. I have to say my wife was delighted with the design and my two grown up children together with my wife and I really enjoyed the cake which was very fresh and absolutely delicious. Would definitely use them again for other special occasions.

Whilst the lunch was ok (limited menu) their main focus was definitely coffee and cake. The cafe itself could really do with a good clean as everywhere was grubby-too much to account for a busy day. The carpet up the stairs was filled with debris, similarly the chair cushions downstairs too. If the paintwork and skirting boards had a wipe down, they’d look so much better. I’m no snob and am at home in cheap and cheerful but I really was put off by the grubby interior.

Windows obscured by condensation do not give a good look and the cafe was too cold on what was a cold day. The array of cakes and breads (to take away) is attractive but the coffees we had were the sort of milky coffees my late mother liked and I do not. No real coffee flavour in the flat white which should benefit from a double shot. The soup was watery but the bread was fine. It looks twee but it falls down on too many issues.

My daughter and I decided we would go for dinner here with her friend I'd never been before but they had and both said it was nice. The pub it's self is lovely it's located in the countryside adjacent to a lake. We entered the building through the main entrance and waited to see if we could just sit down and order or wether they placed you after a few minutes of no one acknowledging us we decided to sit down my daughter and her friend went to get a drink from the bar upon there return a waitress appeared and asked if we were ready to order which we did she the food was brought out the girl went to the wrong table and then stood looking to where it was supposed to go she finally walked over and placed two meals down we thought she would be straight back with the 3rd but she served another table first and 5 minutes later brought the 3rd meal the meal was of poor quality i had a Cajun burger that was not quite cooked enough and was chewy I'd asked for cheese on which was just grated cheese and had cost 99p the chips were greasy and not nice at all I hardly ate any my daughter's food was not much better and her friends said it tasted like vinegar we decided to go sit outside so my daughter went to the bar to pay she told them the meal wasn't nice and that we had all left most of it he called the manager over who said "well what do u want me to do " she said what can u do for me his reply was nothing now I don't know if it was because she is young or what but customer service isn't hard if u want people to return u don't treat them like an idiot hence we will not be returning to this pub again an apology would of been nice but all she got was rudeness......not acceptable at any age ?

I have not been in here for a while and was so disappointed . The actual food ,baking and bread is still really good as is the service and coffee, however the girls serving both at till and tables, all had long hair whilst tied up had no nets on,hair swishing everywhere. The decor ,chairs and tables were dirty, downstairs doors to cupboards? Filthy, up stairs not any better ( I realise that there is a leak problem) but this was not the problem, its the whole general appearance of the coffee shop.At the side of the counter was badly needing a good clean.I returned again thinking it was just a bad day before. This was noir the case ..We were both seeing the same things letting what was a good experience in the past. I would love to be back but not till its spruced up.I do regret that this was our thoughts ,but rather than let it go perhaps the owners can fix this and we can return again to enjoy the lovely baking etc.

The address of this cafe is listed in Milngavie in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. For anyone who does not know the area, Milngavie is the starting point of the West Highland Way long distance walk but it is not in the National Park area.Having said that it is a great little cafe managed by the family of the owner who runs the bakery. The bread and cakes are top notch and with some interesting variations of recipes. The upstairs area has a childrens play area with the understandable distractions.A previous reviewer has commented on the dirty stair carpet which still has not been replaced and the staircase does not have a handrail. The cafe has a nice cosy feel but on a recent visit it was quite chilly. Maybe they do not put the heating on until November. THE food and drink are still great.

I visited Milngavie after viewing the Antonine Wall In Bearsden and I was just looking for a pleasant place for a coffee and snack. Coming up from the station the 'Honeybee' catches your eye and after a walk around the shopping area it certainly seemed the most welcoming place to visit. Lovely appearance - old fashioned in a very good way - lots of cake icing displays in the window that the passing children and adults were drawn to. Maybe remove the somewhat negative sign about touching the cakes - it doesn't sit well with the overall ambience. They have lots of cakes - no surprise there - and they sell honey. Staff were very smart and I was served promptly and very correctly - well trained staff. The coffee came in big cup/mugs and was very good - hot milk in small milk bottles - quaint.

Nice little place in Milngavie with friendly staff. Decor is "shabby chic" style which is lovely but I think they could benefit from wooden floors throughout as light carpet on the stairs looks a bit dirty. Tables seem to have a sticky feel although they are wiped clean constantly so not sure why. I wouldn't order cappuccino again as the cups are small and there is very little coffee in them; mostly frothy milk. Bigger cups are definitely required. Although there are some issues, I do like this place and will return as it has a quaint feel about it and is bright, airy and very welcoming. It's a bakery, so it comes as no surprise that the cakes are knock out. Just as importantly to me the coffee is good. The best served in Milngavie by a long, long way.(Pompous moment: If you're a drinker of the bucket-sized coffees of Starbucks and Costa the coffees here may disappoint. If you possess tastebuds, however, this is the coffee for you.)Lunch choice is limited, and I've never gone to Honeybee seeking lunch, so I can't comment on how good it is. However, I say, go on indulge yourself. You've earned cake. Not only that you've earned good cake, really good cake. Why waste treat-time with substandard when you can choose the best.

Hot foods consisted of Pizza slices and quiche. Sandwiches available too. Very bright and fresh decor, clean and comfortable. If we return to Milngavie, we will definitely head for this tea shop.

The staff were friendly even though we were carrying cases and rucksacks, found us a table and the waitress service was excellent. There was a wide range of cakes which were delicious. Thank you for being so welcoming

Spotted this on our day before we set out on the West Highland Way. Got some quiche and stuffed buns. Both were most excellent.

I tried the Honeybee Bakery for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I haven't been able to stay out of it since. The children LOVE the cakes and are constantly dragging me in on their way home from school and with fresh goodies being baked everyday, I am spoiled by choice every time I go in. Their fruit scones are to die for and the cheesecake brownies are a big hit with the kids. I always look forward to going in to see what new delicious thing they've added to their menu that I can try. Me and my friends have now started meeting there regularly on weekends for brunch where we sit for hours with our cakes and coffee. The ladies who work their are always so friendly and have now started recognising me as a regular customer which is always nice. The shop has a beautiful and quaint decor which gives a rustic, home-made family friendly feel to it. I believe it is the only place in Milngavie where you can get great food and drink for a reasonable price. It is definitely the gem that Milngavie has been missing.

Cakes, scones poor and overpriced. It's staff are poorly trained and are not sure about the prices too charge. We will not return.

Recently visited this new Bakery in Milngavie, and I have to say, what a hidden gem of a place! Amazingly friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff made us all feel very welcome and talked us through the extensive menu of wonderful sweet and savory options. The food itself is to die for. The scones were out of this world, and still warm out of the oven, the waitress informed us that these are the final product baked before the place opens in the morning, you cant get fresher than that!We also tried the brownies, absolute heaven! Would highly recommend the cheesecake option! The coffee was amazing, made to perfection by their Italian barista, this place really has it all! To top it all off the decor is really beautiful, and to find out its a family run affair, who's owner recently won young business person of the year for the area is simply brilliant. 5 STARS would recommend to anyone and cannot wait to visit again!

Really pricey and, sorry, awful coffee. The roast itself is a good quality but it's just always been way too hot, ruining the taste. But then again, cakes are lovely (if a bit small for the price) service is good and I'm looking forward to the improvements that are going to be made with the owner getting more experienced.

I celebrated my 50th birthday this weekend and my partner had ordered a birthday cake from the Honeybee Bakery, Milngavie, for delivery on Saturday 1st August. The cake was delivered on Friday 31st July (earlier than expected) however the cake appeared to have been decorated by an infant. The decoration on the cake was not what had been requested and was a disgrace! My partner then requested that the decoration be removed and (given the short timescale left) be replaced with a simple 'Happy 50th Birthday Donna' in red lettering. The cake was redelivered at 5pm on the 1st August with 'Happy 50th Birthday Penny' decorated on the cake. I was horrified when I saw the cake and further horrified at the owners attitude when I called to complain. While the cake was then altered for a 3rd time the overall experience was shocking and not the cake that was requested when the order was placed. It was only after a very heated phone call that the cake was amended at the eleventh hour and a full refund was made. I would most definitely not recommend placing an important order in the hands of this business.

Everything about this Tearoom/Bakery seems just so right. The decor is perfect and each detail about the Honeybee seems to have been chosen for no other reason than to delight the customer.Seating is on two levels and there are a few tables and chairs on the outside pavement.. In the upstairs seating area is an archway which leads to a small play corner for children which includes a doll's house.A pot of tea is a very reasonable £1.90p and the melt in the mouth empire biscuit just £1.20p. Carrot cake is delicious. They also serve pizza slices, focaccia etc.It is hard to leave the honeybee tearoom without buying some of the bread and cakes or the locally produced Glasgow honey from Ed's bees. This bakery is well worth a visit. www.thehoneybeebakery.co.uk

The Honeybee is doing something right! We have been in for morning coffee twice now. This morning every seat was taken, including the three outside table. However, the friendly staff very quickly found another chair and we were able to enjoy the fresh hot coffee. The range of cakes, scones and tray-bakes is superb an moderately priced. For example a small cupcake was only 70p.If you want a quick snack lunch - come here! The roll filled with chorizo and mozzarella is delicious (the filling i put into the roll BEFORE the roll is baked!)We shall certainly be ack!

My husband and myself popped in here for lunch one day thinking that we would have got a sandwich or something and were disappointed to see we could only have a scone or cake. The scones were lovely however and the coffee was hot!If they could stretch to doing a sandwich at lunchtime it would make a return visit from us more likely.

A great little bakery / tearoom which seems to be a family run establishment. Ladies who lunch will love the floral and white decor which works well with the teapots, sandwiches and wide range of cakes. A frind and I had afternoon tea there and shared two cakes so we could try different things We can recommend the peach Madeira slice and the vanilla brownie!

Nice tea room but really felt quite small due to the layout of the tables. Scone tasted fine but very small for the price and have to say I didn't know they made tea pots that small - one small cup of tea was all you got. Better places in Milngavie for a cuppa. On the plus side the freshly baked breads etc looked lovely as did the fresh donuts

This Bakery, very new to the village of Milngavie, is an absolute delight! The range of cakes is amazing, the breads are wonderful and the seating/ decor is comfortable to the eye as well as weary bones. My granddaughter loves the play area for kids, there is a "reading nook" and a decorating room for supervised adornment of shortbread Russian Dolls or Gingerbread men with a huge variety of icings, glitter, marshmallows etc.The staff are attentive and friendly, I notice it has taken no time for this new coffee shop to become a busy place

Ordered via JustEat. One of two subs was made with the wrong bread and the bread for both was stale and hard. It was hard to tell if there was any cheese in them at all. Worst subway experience to date.

Visited on a Saturday morning. This place is very popular but they manage to turn over the tables quite efficiently. I had the big breakfast which was fantastic, warm and hearty and filling. I don't normally fancy bacon but this was done really well at Cafe Alba - crisp in all the right places without being too dessicated. Good coffee too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Milngavie.
