The Homeland Diner in Banbridge

My wife and I had a late breakfast and I had the normal fry and my wife had the healthy one, both were well cooked and clean, no grease. Good tea and coffee and very friendly service, always enjoy coming here. Reasonable prices.

I dined at the Homeland on 2 October 2024. I was greeted with a smiling face. I had the Slimmer and it was delicious. I'm so glad I stopped. Do yourself a favor and dine here.

Was here for the first time today with my mum and Aunt.was will impressed.The food was gorgeous,generous helpings and the staff were so friendly.i would highly recommend 👌

Good clean cafe, with attentive staff. Fairly quick service. Food is good value for money. Staff are very tolerant of loud kids. Would highly recommend it.

Intentionally overcharged for mediocre food and refused to provide a breakdown of costs. Disappointing as everywhere else had food nearby has been amazing.

Great place to drop into and have your appetite completely demolished with some delicious food! Good and reasonably priced.

Food was awful asked if wanted salad with my toastie inwhich ham was off,side salad which cost extra was not fresh at all! Horrible colslaw, partner got chicken gougons which batter was dripping with grease,coffee tasted really cheap,was disappointed will not be back

Often passed and meant to call. Eventually did. This cafe is in Rathfriland. I was surprised how big and well fitted out it was compared to outside it is deceiving. Very clean and friendly ladies on duty. I got a burger with onions,a latee,glass of water and a trifle for around £10.00. Fair priced. All was good and clean. Chatted to owner and workers. Felt like family. Fully recommended. I will return.

We were working nearby and downed tools and came here .. We ordered 2 mini frys and bacon sandwich Fry were good not greasy The bacon sandwich on the other hand was so disappointing there was no finesse what so ever .. just bacon slapped onto cheap nasty brown bread. We wong be returning for a sandwich anytime soon

Called in because we were hungry. Ordered toasted sandwich and soup. Arrived hot and tasty. Lovely staff, and good service. A few customers beside had ordered the special menu dinner which looked and smelt really good. Excellent price for the size of portions delivered. Good home cooking served well.

I have been to this establishment several times this year, and I have to say well done. It's a family run business, boosted by a great staff, who make you feel welcome as you step through the door. The food, service, and ambience is superb, and you always get a good bit of banter. Well done to Una, Wendy, and Sarah, who compliment the meal with their jovial Craig.

Changed my mind about this place had dinner there for the first time it was nice a had the 1/4pounder with cheese and chips it was nice thought breakfast was my favourite in there might now be dinner

Avery pleasant waitress took our order, my burger tasted like cinnamon and the meat looked very pale, very bad quality of meat. The person with me ordered vegetable soup and bread roll.She said the soup was nice but the bread roll turned out to be a burger bap,chips tasted very oily. The best tasting thing on my plate was the baked beans.Maybe this is why the place was empty. Will not be eating here again.

Fantastic wee cafe and we regularly go here when in Rathfriland. Very family friendly and great service from the staff. Always a popular and busy spot but service still quick, even on the busiest days. Would highly recommend.

A very warm welcome and fast friendly service with great Irish breakfast. Often there is fun and banter between customers and staff. You are made to feel that you are part of the family. The coffee really is perfect and a wholesome set lunch is available every day at a very reasonable price. The menu has all the usuals - chips, burgers etc and all seem to be home made. For entertainment just ask Una to play her accordion and Wendy will sing. Great duo. Very highly recommended if you want a good meal in a friendly atmosphere at a reasonable price. No fine dining here - just good food. We just want to go back again and again and again.

our local diner that we visit most days , an excellent cafe with great food and brilliant service that i would recomend to anyone in the area ,if your looking for good food when in county down this is definitely the place to go even if you have to go slightly out of your way its worth the effort ,

On our way to Newcastle hubby and I stopped in rathfriland. we hadn't had any breakfast and it was now lunch time. we stumbled across this little gem. The staff were very friendly. It is a busy wee cafe. we did have to wait a while for our food but our waitress did explain that a large carry out order had come in. We totally understood and the food was very good. As we missed our bus we decided to have desert. The deserts were amazing. It was worth missing the bus for. The homemade icecream is absolutely amazing. Hubby was so impressed he left a big tip. We will be back.

We visit this diner regularly and you wont get a better breakfast anywhere. It has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere full of local charm. The breakfasts here are hearty and will set you up for the day.

La buena comida local: sopa es como si tienes en casa! bocadillos caseros - bien quizás limitado en los rellenos pero no obstante bueno y fresco. Patatas fritas también están bien. Precio muy razonable. Hay un montón de buenas ofertas en la junta y puede ser muy concurrida por aquí a veces. es siempre el mejor lugar donde parar en Rathfriland para un rápido comer.

Una vez más hemos tenido una gran comida en la patria Diner. El desayuno especial es particularmente agradable. Es una estupenda relación calidad-precio y el personal que nos sirvió son siempre amable y nos hizo sentir como en casa.

We went to The Homeland Diner a few miles outside Banbridge on Tuesday 7 April 2015. We had a table looking out until the main street, everything was just great the service hot food and very well price. We will be back again for sure.

We found the Homeland Diner well worth visit in this lovely little town, with the diner giving excellent value for money. I had the steak sandwich, and my wife had the chicken goujons. Both meals were well worth the money, and the service was fast and friendly. The dessert of apple crumble with cream summed up this diner - good, honest home made cooking which is served in an unpretentious setting. We left the Homeland Diner feeling we had had a real taste of Irish cooking at its simple best.

i have been to the homeland diner for quite a few years and it is very good. the staff are very heapful and make you fell very welcome. i was at this place in june with my friend and my teenage grandson, we had a meal and soft drinks for £30 odds. i think this is good as you get a proper meal.

My husband and I visited the Homeland diner in Rathfriland for lunch. We were surprised to see so many people out for lunch in a relatively small town on a Monday. The service was friendly and welcoming. The place was spotless and the food was freshly prepared. I had a tuna salad and it was very fresh and varied. Plenty of fresh veg in the salad and not drowned in fattening dressing just a little coleslaw on the side. The wheaten bread was lovely too. My husband had a chicken burger with salad and coleslaw - chips not compulsory! The two mains came to only £9. It was hard to resist the puddings which looked delicious, lemon meringue pie, roulade etc and i am sure we will be back to sample them in the future. Just a few seconds after turning left out of the cafe you are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Mournes.
