The Hazel Tree in Corby

Visited this establishment with my wife for a quiet drink during challenging times. We ordered our second drink and watched them remain on the bar whilst the member of staff served three other people. As my wife was walking past the bar on the way to the ladies (wearing a mask) she placed the drinks onto our table. When the member of staff arrived to take payment I was informed that the landlady had observed this outrageous manoeuvre daringly performed by my wife and insisted that she have more patience in the future, possibly a fair comment..... Until you take into consideration that other individuals were allowed to STAND at the bar NOT wearing a mask, coupled with the fact that drug dealers are welcomed into the premises every Friday and treated like royalty. As the review title suggests,this smacks of double standards..We will not be returning.

I have used this establishment regularly over the past two and a half years. My wife and I visit four or five times a week for a couple of beers, she enjoys a Carling whilst I drink Kronenbourg. Yesterday I placed my order at the bar and was informed that the Kronenbourg had ran out, so I ordered two Carlings. Fifteen minutes later whilst sitting at the bar another customer was served a pint of Kronenbourg. Totally bemused I asked why I was told that it had ran out and to my amazement the member of staff said " it is running low and the manager has told us to serve it to one particular drinker". The manager is not exactly dynamic, never acknowledges most punters, just the chosen few, they serve seven draught ales and have ran out of three in the last week! About a month ago they decided to charge forty pence for a dash of lemonade in a pint until I pointed out that they were breaking the weights a measurement laws by doing so. Until the management changes I will go elsewhere. The phrase " couldn't run a bath" has never Been so fitting!
