The Happy Landing in Derry

Excellent food and service last night. Had the special, salmon and cod parcel with scallops and champagne sauce. Delicious

Service was excellent and the food we ordered was beyond our expectations. The food ordered was served about 20 minutes from placing our order , the reason for the time to service was very clear , everything was clearly prepared after ordering and nothing was precooked and heated when our order was placed. Their menu was ample for our needs and costs were very competitive compared to other similar places.

Have been here on several occasions now for family parties, as well as lunch and dinner. Restaurant is beautifully decorated. Very cosy atmosphere, especially when the fire is lit. Food is fab and staff are very attentive. Highly recommended.

Had Sunday carvery with my family last week, food was great but a few things could be said for the chefs, we approached the carvery to be met by Kerry who quickly apologised and told us she would get the chefs after waiting another few minutes they finally arrived but had failed to bring their people skills with them as we felt quite rushed and like we were a bother to them for them to serve us. Service was outstanding and I couldn’t say better about the servers. Kerry checked with us a few times after this as I’m sure she noticed how we felt and she was great as was who I believe to be the manager, very friendly floor staff, chefs should take a leaf from their book. Not the most enjoyable experience but we will be back thanks to the people who served us.

Me & my family came to celebrate my mums birthday. Absolutely lovely restaurant, the food and staff were all amazing.

Amazing place, food was brilliant and the service was exactly what you look for, fast, easy and most importantly interactive. All staff were helpful and everyone around was smiling and enjoying their food and music. The bar was lovely to relax and have a drink while watching the football. Will definitely be coming again for sure!

Reception and service need a lot of attention. Waiting time l o n gggg! Having been told service started at 4.30pm, when we arrived for our table, we were told service started at 5pm! Staff informed us we would have to wait while they served a large group, who I would have thought would have booked, and therefore buffet food should have been prepared. It made us feel that we were less important than the group! While we waited for our order to be taken, 2 other tables got their food, even though the diners arrived after us. Very poor.

We went today on a sunday, place wasn’t that busy and we had been seated immediately as we entered. However we sat for 20 minutes with menus and no one came near us to even take a drink order. The man that seated us told us he’d give us a minute to look and he’d be back however he didnt. A family came 10 minutes after us and we’re seated and order taken before we even got looked at. The waitress passed us approximately 8 times whilst dealing with this family however we sat and sat and eventually we had to get up and leave as it was a disgrace we waited too long for as much as a drink. We very much would have liked to have ate here but couldnt have waited much longer.

Only go if you’ve plenty of time to spare . Service is really really slow ! One seems to be one girl doing everything the rest and standing on their phones or chatting.such a shame !

Very disappointed, had early tea there today with my girlfriend. Ordered a rib eye steak med rare, and sat outside in the sun to enjoy it. Steak came very well done, no staff or anyone around to complain, had to pay for meal in advance never going back

Outstanding meal in The Happy last Thursday and thanks to Roisin and team for great service. This is our 3 visit since Carl took over food great, great atmosphere will definitely be back

Spent a weekend in Eglinton and visited the happy twice. Once for drinks only and the other time dinner and drinks. Really lovely staff and the food was great. I got the spicy chicken pasta and it was 10/10. My partner got the pork belly and again a great meal. Absolutely no complaints and looking forward to going back.

Ate here on Saturday.. Food was excellent. Lots to choose from on menu and my friend was delighted with choice of gluten free options. Lovely atmosphere and Staff were friendly and attentive. Special shout out to Gillian who made sure we were well fuelled in food and drinks. A great asset to your team. Will definitely be back. Having this on our doorstep is brilliant.

I've known this bar for many years, and I can honestly say, under new ownership, this is the place to be. New entertainment/ new vibe but the same fantastic bar staff. Well worth a visit.

Ordered chicken naan bread & garlic chips. Shop bought naan I’m gonny say- bread was hard. Hot sauce was like hotter than Sweet Chillie all over it- I’m guessing shop bought again. Garlic chips had that weird taste that I’m gonny guess was frozen.

Oh dear far from impressed.. ordered the buffalo chicken wings .. chicken pre heated and sauce overly spicy.. came with a blue cheese dip ( very strange) and an assortment of leavesnot good at all

I used to avoid Connolly's restaurant as it wasn't very good but the last 2 visits have been excellent. Good food, good staff and a good vibe on Saturday night. The management of the Happy has changed and this may be the reason. The singer in the lounge was worth hearing and provided a great background for the evening. This will save taxis into town.

Restaurant was really busy. Food was great. Staff helpful & pleasant. Everything tasted really good, piping hot and well presented.

A good choice for a family dinner in an informal but cosy environment The starters are ok. Good Cesar Salad. I had a very good steak with pepper souce. My Child an excelent chicken curry, hot and Spicy but so tasty. Deserts are at the same level, maybe the chocolate cake better than the cheesecake. Good choice in the surroundings

We enjoyed a quiet dinner in this nice restaurant. Varied menu with something to suit everyone. Servers pleasant and efficient. Good food at reasonable prices. Only hiccup was the wine which wasn't great.
