Edit from previous review. The food is still great. However, they are more concerned about serving their deliveroo customers that those in the pub. Don't expect desert. They're too busy.....

Thai food is very good, better than some actual Thai restaurants. Pub is ok but a bit run down decor wise. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Five stars overall because of the consistency in food!

Quiet pub with limited choices on wine BUT great attitude from the staff and they have Thai food which by the smell and looks of empty plates is lovely. We are not eating today but will will be back at some point

Beware of this place. There is a German Shepherd owned by the landlady, not on a lead and has attacked a customer without provocation. Police have to date taken no action. Only a matter of time before the dog attacks a young child.

This is the last time I come here. Used to be okay but it's just a dump now and the land lady is embarrassingly rude. Whole place needs a revamp and new management

Excellent Thai food served up by delightful Thai ladies. But only giving 3star because of the Stroppy land lady who shamelessly and openly throws tantrums and shouts at the staff who seem to be doing their best in an under staffed place. Do visit for a nice Thai food. Was there again. Didn't think the food was to its previous standard. The restaurant area is very dull and full of cob webs. The ambience is just not there. The land lady is its usual stroppy self but this time she made remarks from distance referring to me!

2nd time I've been there lately for an overnight pit stop in the van. Thankfully this time I was early enough to sample some of their food and I'm glad I did. I had Thai Red Curry and rice. It was absolutely delicious washed down with a couple of pints of Guinness. Just what the doctor ordered after a long day.

The best place for Thai food around.

Thai food is good and THAT'S IT. The pub is filthy, the garden was covered in dog poo (6x poos to be exact), benches literally falling apart with huge nails sticking out of them. When I went inside to ask if they had baby changing the land lady said "when this pub was built kids weren't allowed in here" lol so you're living in the 70s? They've been allowed in pubs for years now, you have high chairs to get familys in the pub.. you can't have it both ways?? Land lady is extremely rude. Really put me off coming back. This pub has so much potential, it needs to be completely refurbished and new management!!!!

one of the worst places i’ve been to in my life , food was sickly , staff were rude and again food was absolutely disgusting. never again take my word for it when i say do NOT go there

Rude to my children, bad service, sort yourselves out. 6 of us had eaten and 3 rounds of drinks. my daughter went in there to put her phone on charge and the landlady told my daughter to ask and was shouting at her saying your parents have to pay an electric bill too. when my daughter was kind to her the whole time we was in like for example kept smiling at her.

Amazing Thai food but the rudest staff behind the bar I have ever come across in my life! It’s a shame it could be good if it taken over by more professional people that actually enjoy their job and are nice to you!

Hidden treasure of a pub, beautiful surroundings, you'd almost miss it, if you didn't know it was there. Im not very local to the area but when I used to be there a good 5/6 years ago, I popped in and had such a lovely reception. I can't tell you how beautiful it was to receive the same again after all of this time. It is definitely worth the travel. We had food from their Thai menu and it was quite nice. There are alternatives for the kids if they don't fancy eating what you do. There is an option to eat, drink and chill in the garden, which is well kept and inviting. I'm this weather make sure you've taken your allergy pills, there's a lot of greenery.. I can't talk this place up enough Just go and have a look for yourself :)

this place has seen better days, or could see better days if it just had some tlc. There's a great outdoor space, but poorly maintained. The benches could fall over any day, so be careful which one you chose to sit at! Also they could do with investing in a proper coffee machine, which these days are commonly found in pubs too. Saw people having food, but can't say how it was. It's a decent location, BUT taking your car out can be a real challenge because the pub is on a bend and cars come pretty fast out of nowhere.

Go to place for quick and tasty lunch. Building a little tired and lacking atmosphere but Lunch specials are always super tasty, quickly brought to table and surprisingly filling.

This is a great old pub that also serves amazing Thai food at great prices there is also a lovely beer garden and free parking

Good place for watching a game ⚽️

One of the best Thai meals that I have ever eaten. The staff were friendly and efficient but the food is the star here. This really is a hidden gem. Don't be put off by the English pub look and feel. This is mouth watering Thai food at its best.

Brilliant Thai food and if you ask for a bit of extra heat it’s even better. Highly recommend the veg tempura. Light batter and fresh. Other favs are the Pad Thai and green curry with egg fried rice. Good pub for football but would love it if they had the tables arranged a bit better to see the main screen which could do with being a bit bigger.

Great place for a beer and Thai curry!

Halfway House has a warm English pub atmosphere with delicious Thai cuisine. It served the best curry I've had in years and I can highly recommend the temputa prawns as a starter with chillies on the side. The service was efficient and very friendly. It was a great dinning experience and I will be back soon.

Good old style friendly local pub, v tasty & good value Thai food; nice booze not too pricey; shows football not too intrusively if on; pleasant setting outside by the river Colne when warm. Parking. IMO a pub to visit and support in Rickmansworth. Nice to see it busy as I usually don’t go Saturdays or evenings like today. Enjoy & support your local folks if you can …thru hard times, cheers :)

This pub is best described as a pub, but the food is amazing! Best Thai in all the land. Highly recommend sitting outside with a beer and penang curry. Do yourself a favour.

Myself and my partner are obsessed with Tai food. We have been everywhere. My sister in law is a head tai chef in London- so we know good Tai food. This wonderful pub does the best Tai food we have had anywhere in this area. The ingredients are fresh and the flavours are authentic- something I have not had anywhere else- apart from my sister in law. The service is great and the staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly- We will not go anywhere else now The mixed starters were delicious the pork dim sum was amazing. The pad tai was exactly as it should be. The stir fry chicken cadprakow was amazing. They use the Tai basil - slightly aniseed flavour- something that other Tai restaurants miss out- The green Tai curry is delicious. Please try this little Gem you won’t be disappointed

Unreal thai food for a back street pub

I went there with the friend to have a pint it's in a bag it's in a beautiful location the river runs through the back ofriver runs through the back of it was a lovely Sunny day the staff were great Sunny day the staff were great the people there were great and they do great Thai takeaway food or eating food there

Visited many times in the last year, always felt welcome and always friendly, I will keep visiting.

Fantastic food. Nailed.50 quid on starters and.was not disappointed. Probably the best tempura prawn I've ever had, definitely the best spare ribs I've ever had. My friend had the massaman curry and that was brilliant. The lamb cooked to a turn and the sauce had the viscosity that I want from a curry, not just a dribble soup. Both tye vegetable spring rolls and duck tasted excellent and not grease. Chicken satay always also done perfectly and put on the squewer as it should be so you can but it off and not pull the whole thing off tye squewer In the first bite. I'll definitely come back if passing

Unexpected hybrid pub and Thai restaurant. If you want a burger, go elsewhere, but the food (large selection of Thai dishes) was pretty good. Classic pub drinks selection, from Fosters to Guinness and Sol.

Well food was OK but if you don't fit the bill or our a regular they will take your order go away then 5mins later come bk and ask do you mind paying for your meal first witch I was shocked by. wen I ask why the young boy said the manager said because people leave without paying so they already painted a picture of me and my partner used this place loads of times never been ask before. Also the staff r miserable and un welcoming so rude I will never spend my money in there again. Avoid pls spend your money elsewhere

Lovely food and so,so friendly, attentive and professional chef and delicious food. The waiting staff were fast enough although they weren't busy tho (it was Monday lunch time) If you're blessed enough to be served by the chef is most likely that you're greeted with the most warm welcoming smile that transports you right to Thailand the food just complets the perfect beautiful circle that awakes your senses, dreams and sense of adventure and travel the fragrant sticky rice, the aromatic green chicken curry the perfumed tofu and vegetable dish are a explosion to the palate taking you to a very happy place, all for average prices and average sized portions. Good vibe pity the weather wasn't reliable. Would I go back? Certainly Thank you

We had a lovely Thai dinner, money bags and tempura prawns to start - beautifully crisp and tasty. Followed by massaman curry and a yellow curry, both with chicken. Delicious! We sat outside next to the river in the late evening sunshine. Highly recommended!

Good, quick service by the staff. I wish there were more heaters and maybe a screen outside in the garden for football, sports etc.

Potentially a wonderful pub however they could really make an impact by giving it some love and attention. It's tired and clearly needs a passionate eye for reinventing itself. The service was hit and miss. One girls was fine and energetic, the other clearly lacked any service ethics and was simply rude. Shame really as its perfectly placed and has huge potential

Warm and lovely relaxing setting

A no nonsense boozer with friendly, efficient staff, decent grog and comfortable perches. Not sure why the music videos don't sync with the music itself mind. A minor quibble.

Went there for my partners birthday at the beginning of the month and the food was one of the best I have ever eaten and the chief/ waitress was absolutely lovely and extremely welcoming. You have to go and try the food and the duck ! Lovely atmosphere and will be going again
