Great pub with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and customers. A little bit pricey but always good. Great management.

Had one very small piece of Crab with dried lettuce on the plate crab was no bigger than a fifty pence. Wish I'd taken a picture cost £8

My first visit to this pub for about 30 years. Hasn't changed much, except that there is now a garden at the rear. Had a good pint of London Pride. I miss the old Courage beers that it used to serve back then.

Ruby was amazing very considerate and very quickly served. Great banter but very professional, would come back just for the service

Got rudely accused of my friend who is 21 providing a fake ID. When the rude bar tender picked it up he claimed it didn’t have a date of birth on and when we politely confirmed it did he continued being nasty. After looking after provisional licenses we proved that by British standards they had recently changed the layout. We went back to speak to the manager who turned out to be the rude bar tender who didn’t listen to us and rudely told us again he believed it was fake. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing, do not recommend , even to my worst enemy .

Below average ale on, not very well looked after and neither any local beer or craft beer on tap. Sausage and mash tasty though. In reply to Patrick's question...last Saturday before we went to the football at Wembley, you were sitting in the bar at the time we were there. The Pride was ropey (at best) and the beer selection was as described. In our party of five, three had the crab burger and two had sausage and chips. Please don't try and be cute, this is a fair review.

Food was fantastic. I would recommend the bang bang prawns is my favourite! (They are banging no pun intended.) Im getting that everytime i come in.

The best absolutely the best Fish and Chips we have ever had (in 64 years!). Crunchy light batter, incredible crunchy twice cooked chips with garden peas and homemade tartar sauce. Hospitality amazing and so friendly with the former Australian Masterchef Bronze Medal winner chef Sonny and the young server. Nice garden with sun cover to sit outside and enjoy. Will certainly return soon! Thank you!

Popped into the F9x and Hounds with a gang of new found friends when signalling issues stopped all transport at Rickie. A great watering hole.

Great pub with good sized dining area plus seating inside and out. The staff were friendly, welcoming and the atmosphere relaxed. The food selection was wide , quality high and portion sizes generous. With reasonable prices, it’s well worth a visit

My friends and l were there today, My daughter was spending the day with me and she joined us. We eat there quite a lot and are never disappointed My daughter said what a friendly pub it was and the treatment from staff was excellent 👏 We would like to thank them as we had a very enjoyable lunch with good food reasonably priced. WE WILL BE BACK

Out with family, good atmosphere, friendly service and best of all authentic Thai food served with a smile, would definitely recommend!

Unfortunately, we had a poor experience at the Fox and Hounds. We purchased drinks at the bar, of which we were expecting to have with our meals. Upon requesting menus for the Thai food at the bar, we were informed that a colleague would come to us and provide them. Over 25 minutes later, we requested them again, to which we were told the same thing. After an hour had passed, we still hadn’t been given menus or a friendly update as the minimum. Meanwhile, it should be mentioned, new customers were arriving and being provided with menus. The service was appalling to say the least and we did not end up having dinner there.

A wonderful little pub in the heart of Ricky. The food is the best Thai I’ve tasted around and the drinks are excellent. Their wine menu is full of lovely wines at really reasonable prices. It has a family feel, the staff are really attentive and friendly. A great gem

What a little gem. Stopped off for a bite to eat and a drink to our surprise it was Thai food. What a treat. We didn't expect that coming from a pub. We sat in there lovely big garden at the back. Service was excellent and the food you wouldn't get any better if you went to a Thai restaurant. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back.

My name is R. PATEL MREC, Ba Hons B&Mthis public house allowed me to use their toilet, but when asked if I could have a drink, the owner Patrick marched up to myself, dog and colleague and stated we where not allowed a drink due to us not booking a table..!! What's wrong with this pitcher!

This pub is not very spacious though there is a decent sized garden at the back if the weather's good for being outside. At the time of my visit there was only one ale available, but they also seem to only have two pumps in total. The decor feels fairly minimal too. There is Thai food available though I admit I haven't tried it.

Poor customer service , let us purchase drinks at the bar and then asked us to leave once payment was taken as we had our son with us. This was just after opening wasn’t late which I would understand and told us children are not welcome, if this is the case there should be signage stating that they are not a children/family friendly pub. Then proceeded to watch us make us feel uncomfortable until we left.

8 of us arrived for an evening meal (6PM), no tables available as football being shown. Many tables had single men with a beer sitting at them. We had to leave after waiting 20 minutes. No tables or movement forthcoming! We have eaten here before and enjoyed doing so! Shame they don't take bookings.

We booked in advance 12 people (group walkers). Service was brilliant, food was lovely. Only negative point is very cold where we were sitting upstairs.

Ate there last night (13th Dec). Food was actually really good but the service really let the whole experience down. The woman with brown hair that served us started out friendly. She brought the menus over and took our drinks order. We were too busy chatting and catching up and hadn't had a chance to look at the menu yet, she comes over to take the order and we say 'oh sorry we've not even looked!' and she rolls her eyes and walks off. Then one of the dishes hasn't arrived and we ask for it's whereabouts, she says 'oh the crispy chilli beef takes a bit longer so it's always out last'. Fair enough, but surely the chefs know that and can time things so they all come out together? Seemed like an odd excuse. Then once we'd finished and before the plates had even been collected she brings the bill over without us asking, or her asking if we want anything else. It felt like a very obvious 'we want you to leave now' move. THEN she comes to take payment immediately after before we've even had a chance to look at the bill and STILL as plates were being gathered! We apologise for some reason and say that we'd just like to check it and sort ourselves out. So she rolls her eyes AGAIN and walks off, stands in a doorway giving us daggers. She then sends her colleague over to take payment knowing that had she come back herself we'd have asked what her problem was. Once paid, we go to leave and she stands at the bar looking away. One of the barmen says thanks and she still doesn't turn around to see who's leaving and thank them for paying her wages. Overall the food was great, we ordered a considerable amount and we were nothing but courteous and polite throughout. We honestly don't understand what this woman's problem was, but it spoilt the entire experience. Rolling your eyes to your customers because they're not ready the second you want something is not what you would call professional. I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere as good food will only get you so much grace with me. Being rude and pushy with your customers is really poor customer service and I hope this woman understands that maybe this job isn't for her if she's going to act that way. Wish we hadn't paid the service charge but we just wanted to leave by that point.

Amazing yummy authentic Thai food in an unlikely location that turn out to be very welcoming and cozy place for a meal with friends and family. Short summary Atmosphere - from the outside it looks like a normal pub but the inside and back garden is beautiful decorated and offers a cozy welcoming environment. Staff and management - super friendly and accommodating Kid friendly - mainly Thai food dishes for sharing and kid friendly Menu and range selection - Authentic classic Thai dishes Recommend to friends and family - yes Cleanliness - yes Note - book in advance as very popular and only serve food in the evenings. Don’t be put off by the outside of the building because the inside is enchanting and the food is amazing.

Great food, but our experience was sullied by the pub initially refusing to serve desserts (icecream) to our children because apparently the kitchen had closed, despite them still serving dishes. The kids got their icecream after we complained, though it took a while. A great meal, and a 5* review, spoilt by this incident.

Thai Food was absolutely gorgeous, started off with the ribs, it was a huge tasty spicy starter and well worth the money.

Turned up at 7.30 to sit and eat in the garden. A few tables still available. Was told can only order drinks and not food. So if eating there I would recommend phoning them even though you can't book a table in garden.

Dropped in for a quick pint. Busy in the garden but it is nice and secluded...

Beautifully cooked, excellent and well presented Thai food. Friendly and helpful bar staff. Dogs allowed in the garden where we were under a big umbrella. As it was a bit nippy the heater was welcomed. We'll be back.

Went for mother's Day, service times were horrendous. When the food came it was nice, but the experience was tainted by the time waiting for all courses to come. Would be wary to visit again.

Brilliant service and staff, location great. Just let down by what I personally feel is a poor selection of alcoholic beverages, no peroni or birra moretti on draught, no strongbow/dark fruit even.. pretty disappointing for a pub in this location/price range. Apart from that everything is great. There's just no point for me to go as we can't drink what we like. This was on the online menu at least. Update 2022, thank you to Pat (owner) for replying to me, great to know that Moretti is indeed on draught, and i look forward to returning for a pint of it 👍🏻i shall pop in and enjoy one, like I’ve always pleasantly said, excellent service and staff. Lovely heated outside seating area, friendly staff and the most amazing/authentic food. We had the chicken satay skewers, chicken parcels and the massaman curry - so so good!

Owner always greet you and friendly, quiet enviroment during day and busy at night. Thai food served here as Joy of Thai restaurant. Good Thai foods and reasonably cheap with portion you can share if you are not that hungry. Lunch served at noon at bar area and evening at top floor separated with bar which busy every evening. During COVID the area set a giant tippy in the garden.

Amazing food but belive the larger gentleman is the manager is so rude! Over charged on 3 separate occasions when complained was made to feel like we were in the wrong and shouted at avoid!

Fantastic. Luckily got in before the kitchen closed and ordered straight away. The service was very quick. It was a nice place to eat outside undercover despite it raining. The food was very tasty.

Turned up without reservation so couldn't sit inside sadly but had a nice table in the warm and pretty teepee. Some confusion over which drinks were which but otherwise very pleasant.

Drumroll please... This... Is. The. Best. Thai restaurant in all of Hertfordshire and damnit possibly greater London as well! Super warm cosy atmosphere, this is an old fashioned pub (Which is great by the way, not everywhere needs to be the latest hipster tofu bar, with it's own signature craft beer!) with excellent food at a reasonable price, if that's what you're after you'll be deeply satisfied.

We ordered a Thai takeaway in lockdown January after a long muddy walk. Ordered ahead and collected - food piping hot and absolutely delicious. Cost a bit more than regular takeaway but worth it as quality of the food was great. Highly recommend as a lockdown treat!

We rang in our order late afternoon/early evening on Friday for collection at 8.40 and the dishes were absolutely delicious. Lovely friendly service when we arrived to collect them from the pub and can't wait to return when we're allowed.Highly recommended if you like Thai food.

Amazing food and amazing value, friendly service too

We had lunch in the new tepee outside. It was a wet and windy day but well sheltered in there with its heater and strings of lights. They have plans apparently for s central fire pit and additional heaters to keep the elements at bay. The food was very good, the staff friendly and helpful We will go back again l

We were looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch in Rickmansworth and came across the Fox & Hounds. We got a nice welcome and were delighted when we were offered the tipi! Such a nice idea, lots of atmosphere, little lights running up the side and sanitiser on all tables. Even fleece blankets if you wanted them. Really friendly service and nice food. Serving staff in masks and we felt quite safe dining there. We felt the portions could have been a bit bigger and we had to order more but overall a 5 star experience for atmosphere, taste and friendliness.

The staff were friendly, food portions were great and they made their customers feel safe with their distancing measures. Highly recommend for a casual night out for good Thai food!

I’m down in Rickmansworth on my own (lady in her sixties) and was very anxious about finding somewhere to eat out with no booking made. I found The Fox and Hounds and was welcomed so beautifully by Gary doing the “Track and Trace” on the entrance. He couldn’t have made me feel more welcome and found a comfortable table, socially distanced and spotlessly clean. Totally delicious duck spring rolls to start and then chilli beef as my main. Table service exceptional. Saw Gary again and asked if there was any possibility of booking for tomorrow night (fully expecting to be told that on a Saturday they would be fully booked). Again, so accommodating and polite. Looking forward to visiting again tomorrow knowing that I’ll feel safe and welcomed.
