The Grubberie Cafe in Islington

I am a long term regular here. It is a small corner cafe popular with the local working population of charity workers, architects, archivists and builders. Traditional hot meals with generous quantities and salads and wraps from a wide range of very fresh ingredients. The service is speedy but the standards remain impeccably high and the staff super efficient and very kind.

Bobbed in for a coffee in the morning and having seen the all the freshly prepared salads available, I returned for lunch. Order the healthy wrap which was delicious and fresh. I could happily work my way through the wrap menu as well as the salads. Very reasonably priced and a popular place. I will return!

This place is brilliant and the staff are very friendly. The salads are a best buy very big and excellent to eat lots of choices with meat or fish as well Cant recommend highly enough. If you are in the area pop in and see.

Have worked round the corner for over a year but only discovered this place this week. Such a good find, wish I had known about it before. Finally somewhere in the area to get a healthy, well priced, delicious lunch or breakfast! Really nice staff too. I have only been a couple times so far and it was crazy busy, but I guess that's just a reflection on how delicious and well priced the food is and they seem to have an efficient system so I'm fine with that ;) Will be coming here again very soon! Only minor thing is not many tables but most people seem to want to takeaway so it didn't cause too many issues.

Really accommodating hosts and an amazing chef too! Work nearby and go here everyday and it never disappoints! Amazing coffee and their salad is fresh everyday and i highly recommend the Turkish wrap with sweet chilli sauce. Perfect place to visit for breakfast/lunch.

I always order my favourite which is a choice of 5 salad toppings + choice of meat or fish. Their portions are huge! Fresh ingredients and very decently priced. My favourite work lunch spot for takeaway salad

Came here for quick coffee as recommended by my sis who comes here often. She wasnt wrong bout the coffee! Really full of flavour! Went for this coffee straight after another as the first latte hardly tasted of coffee. Friendly staff. Came here after lunch rush so i enjoyed the quiet atmosphere 😁

Love this cafe. Loads of choices, real mix of tasty, fresh options. The staff are super efficient and kind, and you get great quality for the money.

This is where I go to get my hangover food. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are really friendly. The bacon, sausage and egg baguette definitely helps you get over the night before

I really like food - usually when I don't cook, I buy there lunch. The only problem is that if I don't order food before, then I have to waste 20 min waiting for omlet or pasta which basically needs few min to prepare.

I’m a regular at this place, and the food is great. There’s a decent selection to choose from, about a dozen or more different wraps, the ubiquitous all day breakfast(s) alongside jacket potatoes, chilli, lasagne and chicken shish, chips and salad –a bargain at £5.60. Gets busy at lunchtime, but mainly for takeaways so it’s generally always possible to get a seat although it can be a little snug at times. For me, it does the simple, important things really well, the food’s good, portions generous, tables are regularly wiped down and the staff are really friendly and helpful, it won’t take long for them to remember your most frequent orders. It’s everything a café should be.

Been here twice recently to pick-up lunch, following a recommendation from a work colleague. Forget the meal deals in Tesco's or Sainsbury's, if you are in Farringdon get yourself here for a Gourmet Wrap. Had "The Turkish," large wrap filled with chicken hummus, salad, peppers, etc. topped off with spicy (or sweet) chilli sauce; lovely. They also gave me a free cup of soup; all for under a fiver!
