Take away chips arrived barely warm and we sat in pub waiting for it. Presentation bad, heat bad, value for money bad. I would only have take away from here again if it was the last place in uk serving food in a apocalypse

Having the bar staff moaning about kids sayings it’s a family friendly place but the kids are to much and I quote we don’t let them have there ice cream until the last minute so they don’t have loads of energy on the premises, to the be stood 6-7 feet away from the slot machine holding my 10 month old nephew watching the lights to be told I wasn’t allowed on there with a baby with me despite me being 6 foot away and made no approach to the machine, overall the food was lovely but the staff from start to finish was absolutely shocking

Very good value for money good and lovely touch from chef Peter to personally come out to ask us how our food was. Will come again and beer cheap also compared to pub restaurants near me in Huddersfield.

We all had carvery, those who had mint sauce made the mistake of putting it all over their food to find the m/sc was over diluted with vinegar and it subsequently spoiled their meal. The carvery was 100% delicious - veg selection, meat, potatoes all cooked beautifully. The gravy was also thick and tasty - full marks. My only issue, was that I suddenly became unwell, I had barely touched my food and asked if I could 'take it away'. I offered to pay a deposit for the plate and We would return it the next day on our way to work, if they could cling film the plate. Unfortunately I got a resounding 'no'. I was told they had no facility for takeaway. They were 'not allowed' to use tin foil either. I was prepared to pay way more than a plate was worth as a deposit for return, but was told 'not allowed'. The waitress wrapped the food in cling film, sadly the then unappetising meal was binned at home. Not the waitress' fault and she gave good service, the carvery chef did also. I just feel that customer / good will service could have been better re my taking the food home, oh and less vinegar in the mint sauce pls!

Table 8 would like to thank all the staff. The meal was very good as usual. A big shout to Pete the chef 👨‍🍳 always going around making sure everyone is enjoying there meal.

I come with my brother and sister in law every 2 weeks and we haven't had a bad meal ,the meat is done to perfection with all fresh vegetables I can't fault it at all 10 out of 10.

The meat on the carvery was delicious but all the vegetables looked and tasted like they had been there for hours or they were warmed up from the day before! Disappointed!

Pete who was serving was a very lovely bloke, food was lovely. Leah was lovely and very pleasant very nice and welcoming

Absolutely fantastic My husband and I come here quite often whether it be for breakfast or tea and the food is always great Pete the chief is awesome he is always making sure that everyone is ok and having a great time The staff are friendly and never is too much for them We are always recommending green tree to all friends and family

On a spur-of-the-moment decision we decided to go to Green Tree for tea. My husband and I both had burgers and they were delicious. My deaf mother-in-law had carvery and with the help of the tiny lady cutting the meat was able to get her carvery without needing my help. The lady was patient and clearly understood my mother-in-law's needs. This was one of my better spur of the moment decisions. I would recommend 👌

.Once again at the green tree we enjoyed a very nice meal , as usual we had the best of help from Leah our waitress and Peter the jolly cook. The atmosphere was lovely, it was nice experience today. Thank you.

Wonderful Lunch again. Great service and excellent food. Credit where it’s due standards of food and service at the Green Tree are second to none. We have visited the Green Tree midweek with friends for 15 years and it’s always been great. Thanks again Pete for a lovely lunch.

Visited today, wouldn't go back so Bland and boring... £45 for 2 adults and 1 child carvery the only thing that tasted of anything was the gammon and roast potatoes. No one asked if everything was OK neither. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't advise anyone to go. Put butter on your peas. Salt and Pepper in your mash. Make a rich cheese sauce. Make a nice thick meaty gravy.

We went for a late dinner with friends. We ordered 3 pizzas and burgers plus some starters Starters should arrive first, but we get everything delivered to the table at once part of one pizza that we waited 15 minutes for. Overall, it's not a bad place to go eat with friends.

We normally use the famous branded carvery that rhymes with moby. This place was 10 out of 10. FIrst I was greeted by Leah lovley woman explained everything with manners. Then Lisa who took my order at the bar was again faultless, then Pete the chef lovley bloke , All these members of staff are a credit to your business. The food itself was fantastic the beef was as it should be , melted in the mouth, it's safe to say, we will be back .

Carvery was good value for money. The pensioner portion of meat was very small though.

Impromptu carvery craving led us to the Green Tree. We were seated quickly and advised on what to do for the carvery. Pete was our carver, very polite and amusing. Very enjoyable food and experience.

Beautiful carvery after a tiring few hours travelling. Atmosphere very welcoming and friendly. Pete the chef even came round to check on us personally. This was our 2nd visit and we returned after a great meal when we were last up from Staffordshire!

Lovely carvery- just what I needed after a couple of hours driving. Looked after by Pete the chef who recommended the sweet potato and butternut squash mash with my beef and gammon.

Perfect food and perfect service

The food was still at a high srandard which I think is particularly impressive due to the restaurant appearing like it was a fairly quiet day. The service was absolutely brilliant from the lady who served us to our amazing carvery chef Pete he delivered an incredibly professional and approachable service he even went out of his way to check if we were okay and how our food was

Carvery was amazing, desert delicious. There was a problem when ordering desert, it made my husband feel uncomfortable, as if he was trying to get away without paying what he should. There was 3 members of staff on and each one upset someone in our family group.

Pete was amazing, very friendly and nothing was to much, starters came a bit late and due to us being hungry we when up for our carvery first while we waited, as soon as he found out we were waiting for starters he made sure everything was sorted ASAP even though it wasn't down to him. The new sweet potato mash is a real treat and the meat of gammon,beef and turkey is just melt in your mouth. Carrot were a nice texture but normal mash was a little to soft for my liking. Gravy is nice but wish they had a rich beef gravy rather then just a veggie gravy for all. Due to our wait we were offered free dessert or drink which we didn't expect as they had already gone above and beyond! Definitely be going back soon. Cost us for 2 standard carvery, pint of pepsi max,pint of fresh orange and lemonade,chicken bite starter and tomato and cheese pinwheel starter. It should have been £33 but due to a offer on the app, I got a further 20% bringing the total to £25. Leah the manager was amazing and even manage to get us a extra Yorkie pud 🤣 We got a free fudge cake and brownies and it was beautiful!!
