First time back in 30+ years and had a lovely experience. Hope to revisit sooner next time!

Ordered online and waited over 1 hour before calling the restaurant and call was not answered. Waited another 1 hour and called the restaurant and I was told something went wrong with the order despite the payment going through and that a fresh order would be made and arrive in 20mins. Another 1 hour later and called again for the 3rd time and 3rd hour waiting! Told by a man that the conversation i had with the previous employee didn't happen and that my order had been sent over 1 hour ago and they didn't know why it had not arrived yet. I am still waiting 4 hours later with no food! Absolutely mind boggling and I have ordered from here many times before and never received such awful service and excuses

Waited over an hour in the Thai restaurant and then when the food finally turned up it was stone cold. Shocking service! Such a shame as we were really looking forward to trying here

First time visiting, passing through with the doggo. Dog friendly with treats! Friendly and welcoming staff, good service. Food was very nice, satay wrap and halloumi wrap with homemade chips. The vibes was nice as well, we will deffo return for a night out! Toilets nice and clean. Thanks to the nice group of lads who moved over to make room for us and the pooch as its a popular pub! :)

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! The most delicious food in the world. I am coeliac and they were amazing with me and did the food separately. The service was 10/10 it was such a pleasant environment and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a lovely Thai meal. If I was to describe this meal in 2 words it would be a taste sensation!

Had a few drinks , did the pub quiz and had some thai food which was on point very good food especially with a drink , never realized how great the salutation was i always passed by but the back with the giant tv , bar and heat lamps offer a great atmosphere to relax and chat with mates. Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice evening.

Was late BUT so so so good ! We over ordered so we would have leftovers for tomorrow BUT ate it all !!!

Gorgeous food but I was disappointed about the quantity. I ordered a prawn pad Thai, which costs nearly £14 but only contained 3 prawns! I won’t order that particular dish again. Everything else was really tasty.

Food was delicious and we had fabulous service from Ploy!

First time here today enjoying a drink with my daughter. Lovely staff, very welcoming and they even turned the outdoor heaters on to keep us warm. Thank you so much to Sam (I think that’s his name). We will return 🥰

Appalled by the customer service! Booked a table originally for 6:30 for Valentine’s Day then the restaurant called to say it wasn’t available, but 5:30 was which we booked online not even 2 hours later. Today we have had a phone call an hour before our booking saying the table isn’t available and our booking was cancelled! Disappointed by the customer service which has now left me and my partner with no table booked on Valentine’s Day! He booked time off work for this and we had a babysitter arranged. Do not advertise tables on your website and have staff tell me you have a table free then ring an hour before to cancel! This needs to be looked at to stop disappointing future customers as this has completely put us off coming to this establishment.

Great pub, great atmosphere. Fantastic choice of ales, good food. The pub has a great feel inside and out. The inside has a traditional pub feel to it. The outside space is excellent for watching sporting events or just enjoying the English summer. The area is 50/50 covered and open to give the perfect outside drinking experience.

Love this pub and the food is always delicious, staff are so lovely and friendly, the atmosphere is homely

We treated ourselves and spent a little more than we would usually on a takeaway. The Laab Moo was delicious 👌🏻 there a couple of things we wouldn’t order again but this is down to our tastebuds and not the quality. Overall the food was lovely and we will be back for another treat soon

Amazing Thai food best Thai food I've had in the uk you know it's good when you see people from Thailand eating the food aswel who's not from the area, the beers are awesome the staff are so friendly just a great vibe nice beer garden what's alway busy, I go into salutation a lot and always have pad Thai

Don’t get me wrong the food was lovely and it’s probably rare that you’ll hear someone whinge about too much meat but the panang curry had no veg or anything in it was just meat. Still very nice though

The restaurant called & said that the food had been ready for 20mins, but the app was told them for 20mins that the driver was 5mins away. Driver showed up there about 50mins late. Food ordered for 12:35hrs arrived at 13:54hrs.

A fabulous evenings dining experience. Warm and friendly greeting upon arrival and promptly seated at our table. Efficient service with a full compliment of food arriving in a single visit. Excellent flavours and variety.

Super pub with Thai dining, English, pizza and now French Charcuterie boards to delight and excitement. Always classic and sometimes seldom seen hand pulled ales available-Stones on Sunday and had Barnsley bitter today with my Pad Krapow of belly pork. Very dog friendly, pleasant staff and nice clientele. Always try to visit The Sal when in town.

Visited at 3 pm on Saturday afternoon for the first time and was really impressed. Entering the pub at the front you are in a gorgeous old building with nooks and crannies everywhere.great decoration lots of wood . You start heading too the back , pass tables and chairs and more cosy corners to go outside and there are tables and chairs with heaters and just when you think it's over , turn right and there is a huge covered space with picnic tables and benches and another bar . Massive place !! All the staff I spoke too were friendly and quick to serve . Can't comment on the food as we didn't order any

Lovely pub. Great craft ales. Fab outdoor seating area with entertainment. The only downside is the clientele, seems to have lots of youngsters who are taking drugs.

Came in during the football and it was busy. Then it was full time and most left. Service was friendly but they kept making mistakes with an order of only 3 drinks. Soon rectified. Relaxing, quality beer.

Really nice pub which I’ve visited with friends and family for a good few years. I stayed away for a good while as it’s started to get crazily busy too often and was often full of groups of people, some intent on trouble and going as a couple you’d feel walk you were walking on eggshells waiting for something to kick off. However I decided for the first time this year to give it another try. Thankfully the trouble I was put off by seems to be behind them. I’ve been twice in the last few weeks with my wife as part of both our wedding anniversary and my birthday and the pub was very welcoming. The staff were great, the atmosphere was nice and friendly. The pub really is nice, the selection of drinks is good, the food is nice and reasonably priced. The pub also has an excellent outdoor area. I don’t know the reasons for the positive change but long may it continue as I’d like to enjoy some afternoons here once the football season starts. Ladies toilets are being refurbished my wife pointed out. So another positive. As a guy, the men’s toilets are probably in need of an expansion given how big and busy the pub can get. So as a point to improve that would be it. I’d definitely recommend a visit here for both drinks and food.

Went to the Thai restaurant on a Wednesday evening. The food is amazing and very well priced! We will definitely be coming back!

Having never been to the salutation before my partner proposed we went for a date night to the Thai restaurant above the pub and I certainly wasn’t disappointed, the service was great , we were both surprised at how soon our starters came out and the food was delicious , I would highly recommend going if you haven’t already.

It was a busy end to a half term filled with lots of teachers and I'm not sure they were prepared. Very busy and I was skipped over several times at the bar. However, the staff were friendly, the drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was good.

£40 spent, tiny portions, the sticky rice came in a little plastic bag inside a small clear takeaway tub, you could maybe for 3 portions in that tub. Cold when it arrived too - won’t order again!

31 quid for 6 money bags, 4 very small spring rolls, 5 pancake and a small portion of duck and and egg fried rice. Over priced and small on portion size. Tasted lovely for what there was, left still hungry.

Ton’s Massaman is our favourite curry and the best Massaman we have ever had. Gorgeous Thai food.

Took a trip here a couple of weeks ago. Looked at the menu before I went and thought it looked quite interesting, not often you see a pub that has a Thai restaurant on top and serves some of the Thai food in the actual pub. Fair to say I was blown away by how good the food was, can honestly say it is some of the best Thai food I have tried, had the beef massman curry and it was superb. Loads of flavour and the beef quite literally fell apart. The pub itself was nice, lots of choice of drink with a good amount of cask beer available. Nice large menu and plenty of room even on a Saturday. Will go again if I am ever back in Doncaster and certainly recommend 👍

Been a few times now,the owner Ton is a really nice person. Met a nice lady who was called Ploy, went there yesterday evening Tuesday 16th of April to celebrate my birthday 21 again Lol. A guy who works at the Salutation called Leo bought me a drink for my birthday,learnt some Thai word from a friend to speak with Thai people SHAWADI CAP.

A brilliant place to meet up with family and friends. Food was really good and service was polite quick and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

If you’re after an adult bar to watch sports at with great drinks and a vibrant feel this is where to head. The Thai restaurant upstairs is great too. Large open area at the back and a cosy pub feel at the front Grahame and the team have got it right!

Great meal with friends. Never disappoints. I've been several times and the food is always good. Friendly staff and always good service. You can ask for the meals to be adjusted to your taste too, which helps to accommodate everyone's taste.

First time eating here my god I can not recommend enough the food was outstanding in my opinion and I was expecting a £200 bill for 4 and it was £128 we had starters mains sides and alcohol drinks i can't wait to go back

It's the first time I've been here but I'll definitely be back. It's a good old fashioned type of decor but nothing old fashioned about the food and drink great freshly made chips with our very tasty sandwiches a good selection of drinks and very welcoming staff. It can be a bit different to park near it but it's in the centre so not too far to walk. We were in there mid afternoon so can't really comment on how busy it gets I'll come back a bit later in the day and do another review which will not be any hardship.

This is such a great venue, yes it gets busy but the staff are attentive and the Tai restaurant upstairs provides amazing food.

To be honest, I was surprised when I heard about a Thai Restaurant above a Pub, I wasn't expecting much.. But it was a very nice Restaurant with great Thai food and great service.

Stopped in for pint after our Sunday walk. Great selection of cask and keg ales to choose from and at a great price.

Spotted this place as 2 mins from my hotel. I'm here with work so walked in without a booking. Despite being Tuesday it was busy, but they had room for one! I can see why it was busy, the food is simply delicious. I didn't know what I wanted, so I asked the waiter for a beef dish with some spice and noodles. I let him decide basically and he hit the spot bang on. Friendly team, amazing food, highly recommended 👌 PS. Sorry no pics, I tucked in the second it arrived 😀
