The Green Chilli Indian Restaurant in North Down

Good is usually very good. A word of warning... They prefer cash and seem quite upset when paying by card. A bit short sighted as i like a lot of people these days who have very little cash in my pocket.

We went here for a work do at Christmas and the curries were amazing and great service from all the staff

Best Indian dine in take away I know in Bangor . I have never had a bad meal in here in all the years I have been going there .

Been here a few times but not for quite some time so was nice for a change. Seemed quiet for a Saturday night but that meant we had almost zero wait time for food which was great for us as we were both starving. Although I've not been for a while I think I will return as I've been rather devoid of Indian nights out for a while

The food in the Green Chilli is excellent and the new front of house staff are very welcoming. Sam the chef is still knocking out very tasty dishes and is happy to prepare dishes the way customers prefer. Best of all is the Bring Your Own drink policy with no corkage,,, so don't be caught out if you like a tipple as they only serve soft drinks.

I took my daughter to The Green Chilli for a birthday dinner and we were very impressed. Our chicken chat starter and the mixed tandoori starter were tasty, but huge, so we may just share a starter next time. I had a chicken tikka dansak for my main course. My daughter had a chicken tikka balti, which she asked to be made extra hot. Our waiters were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, and the chef came out to make sure my daughter was happy with the level of spice, which was a nice touch. Neither of us could finish the amount of food we had, and the restaurant was happy to box up the leftovers for us to take home.

After a poor indian meal round the corner earlier in the week we almost didn't book but glad we did. This was a perfect visit. Great service. Faultless food. I ordered the Green Chilli Masala. As tasty as it was hot. Best nans for a long time. Well done to all. Very highly recommended.

This is a little hidden gem in Bangor that never ceases to impress us. Food was plentiful and very flavoursome. They dont skimp on ingredients with plenty of chicken and prawns in the dishes. A very plain environment but dont let that put you off as the food more than makes up for it. Also BYO so an added bonus.

Good food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Also they had no problem adjusting dishes for my son's vegan girlfriend. Just one word of warning though, their dishes tend to be spicier than many other places so ask in advance if you want them to tone the heat down a bit.

A proper little Indian spice house. Staff always lovely, weekends in the restaurant are always a buzz. Restaurant forgot our pilau rice tonight and when we phoned up the manager ran it up in his own car faster than you can say Chicken Tikka Dopiaza. Thank you.

My friend Pat and I were at the Green Chilli last Tues night. The food was really nice, and the guy serving us was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back again 🤩

After hearing rave reviews from an Indian food connoisseur who dined here with friends last week, decided to try it out with friends on Sunday night. Simply Wow. The chef is not your avg Indian restaurant chef, but is in my opinion one of the Top chefs in all Ireland. After enquiring with front of house staff who explained that the usual cef was on holiday. This stand in chef who is his cosin is none other than... Who I won't name is none other than multi award winning chef who had left the culinary scene at height of his fame and just come back quietly to help his cousin. Suffice to say the while he is there the food will be exceptional in every sense. Amazing

Party of 10 went for dinner. Excellent food, service and staff. All so friendly. Tried to get them to join in our after eight game.

Mmm... We ordered and paid £30 on their website, waited 15 mins, then when we got there to collect, they had no knowledge of our order - until they put a loose cable back into the computer! Joke. Order finally appeared after another 20 min wait... But at least we got a compensatory can of Coke while we waited😆 And to compound matters, there was no pilau rice (as requested) with the order. The butter chicken (£10) was lovely, garlic naan heated tasted like plain naan, mixed tandoori starter was very oily. Sorry but won't be returning.

Today ordered foods here. All are in good quantity and very testy food. Their poppadoms with chutney is delicious. Overall good reasonable price.

Ordered king prawn butterfly there was no flavour and was only 3 in box even tho its a starter wouldn't order again for £5.99 was disappointed

First time back for a while and very disappointed. Poppadoms stale. Garlic naan burnt and food very poor.

Ordered through Bangor eats, no issue with ordering etc. Order was placed to arrive 7:40-8pm. I arrived home at 7pm and the driver was already at the house with the food. I sent him back as I had to get my son to bed. I called the restaurant who couldn’t understand the issue with the food arriving early. Eventually got put on to a manager who agreed to resend for the correct time. I asked can it be made fresh and he agreed. Food arrived at 8pm barely luke warm. Curry had cooked so much it was a thick gloop. Manager blamed this on the restaurant being very busy. Crazy poor service and not my first experience of this from the Green Chilli.

We had a carryout delivered from here to our Airbnb just 2 minutes drive up the street. I was a bit disappointed the food was not really hot. It was lukewarm so possibly sat for a while. My husbands nan bread in particular was cold. It was safe for gluten free and tasted good but I think next time I would eat in rather than takeaway.

We were visiting Bangor and were desperate for a good dinner. Found this place and decided to walk in. The food was good but you need to bring your own alcohol as not licence. If you come early, make sure you ask for the early bird menu. We didn't know they have one after we ordered and saw a family who, obvioulsy were previous customers, having it. Apart form that, the food was very good and quite substantial. Price of the drinks a bit over the top but the food made for it.

We’re over from London and my uncle took us here. Food was delicious and the staff were great. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back on the next visit.

My usual Indian take away was closed so had to try somewhere different and picked The Green Chilli. I can only say I was impressed. I called ahead before the restraunt was even open and they were happy to take an order for preperation on opening which allowed for a swift collection which I needed. The food was tasty and very enjoyable (better than my ex usual), the whole family enjoyed their food. Price was better than any other local places and the quality was definately better.

I ordered a takeaway after friends saying it was lovely.. arrived promptly .. Ordered a chicken tikka kebab ,garlic sauce and asked for salad on side .. chicken was cooked lovely and was tasty , they did not send any salad which was disappointing. Ordered a korma chip and asked for salt and vinegar on it .. no salt and vinegar , the chips were awful and the korma sauce was more like a paste , was dry and looked like it has been sitting .. could call it sauce... couldn't eat the chips at all. Overall disappointing and wouldn't rush back at all.

Between the ONLY other person in the restaurants starter being served to us, the extraordinary poor service from the one member of staff, not to mention the shouting and swearing coming from the kitchen.... oh, and drab atmosphere.... this is the 1st restaurant I've ever left early, and without a bill... This place relies on just eat... horrendous experience in absolutely every aspect, from 1st call to book (sure just turn up) to walking out the door unattended.. avoid like the plague. This place used to be great

Order from a comprehensive menu. Our starters of Onion Bhaji & meat Samosa were very nice. Mains of a chicken biryani & a lamb biryani were delicious & packed with chicken & lamb, both ample portions so come here hungry. I hadn’t realised the restaurant was not licenced & so had not brought a bottle with me. Zac, the manager, very kindly ran out & got a few beers for me. They do not charge for corkage. The staff were very helpful & friendly & Zac was good for a bit of banter.

As a regular I am remiss not having left a review before now. Any serious lover of curry must experience The Green Chilli that excels in offering many “unheard of” curries. Rich, thick sauces with unique flavours create a more authentic feel and having sampled more than most I thought a could recommend a few. A personal favourite is the Chicken Tikka Moris Moris. This is the hottest dish on the menu (or so I thought) and an interesting tomato puréed base curry with a blend of chillis and garlic. A hotter (off menu) option that I didn’t know was available until recently is the (Chiken Tikka) Phaal which quite similar and also delicious. Also good (hot) is the Nagashor. These 3 dishes are way hotter than a vindaloo (and much nicer in my opinion). The Darjeeling is a nice moderately spiced alternative. Milder option: The Sweet Jalfrezi is excellent choice - very similar to a massala in looks and taste but slightly spicier and has onions and peppers. For starters you can’t go wrong with the vegetable pakora, more substantial options are the chicken chat, prawn puri or tandoori chicken. The chilli Nan is a great side. The decor may not be everyone’s taste but make no mistake this the best Indian in the area for a decent curry. Enjoy! .. oh, and don’t forget it’s BYO.

Best Indian restaurant in Bangor by a long way, and I've tried them all. Food is always fantastic. I've been going here for a very long time too. All the staff are really welcoming especially Zach.

Visited for the first time and we weren't disappointed, great menu, both my wife and I enjoyed something different which is always great and weren't disappointed. Staff were friendly and great with the kids. Highlighted an issue with the bill which was promptly dealt with. We are due back in the area again soon and will definitely be back.. Great menu, quality food and top service..

We have had take away from here for the past few weeks, and the service is always lovely on the phone, delivery service is always friendly and the food is always hot and tasty and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend the Green Chilli !!!

The WORST. Served wrong food and then had staff tell me Im wrong for 40mins with me while I continuously asked them to please just let it go. Tried 6 months later for fast food...was given a Rogan Josh made with the same curry chip shops put on chips...AVOID

The atmosphere is both dull and dated. Its a long room, kinda drafty, and no windows at all. I even think we had a glass table, how 70s! The food was okay. I got a fish curry and my wife had a saag. Both were just okay, nothing to write home about.

Gave onion when specifically asked for none as I'm allergic then sent out replacement and same mistake again the manager hung up then when got threw again he said just to eat it and it's only beside my food which is in the same plastic container keeping in mind this is an allergy last thing he stated before hanging up again was " you will eat what I give you "
