Bangor Curry House in North Down

There were 7 diners in our party and each one of us agreed that the food was delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Chef has over 40 years experience and happily advised us on menu. Restaurant deserves a much higher rating. Atmosphere,service and food will not disappoint.

Ordered our favourite chicken curry hot pot. It arrived… no popadoms or dips !! I phoned to be told due to delivery charges they can’t afford to give them free anymore. Sorry, but on the menu 4 cost £2…. You could give at least 2. The dish was not as it used to be… over-spicy, but bland. Chicken overcooked, no potato and 8 tomatoes.. really think you have lost us.

Ordered from their website for Fri night takeaway, gorgeous food. Quick delivery and the meal for 2 was great value. Would highly recommend.

Recommended to us by my sister-in-law who's a regular customer, this was our first visit. The staff are really friendly and the food is among the best Indian food we've tried. Service was excellent, and they were really helpful. I wanted to try something other than my usual choices and the waiter was able to suggest a dish which I'd never tried before, and which I thoroughly enjoyed. My son's girlfriend is vegan and they were extremely accommodating, not just by suggesting vegan main choices, but also bringing her a couple of separately prepared vegan sides, which we thought was a nice touch. The restaurant wasn't too crowded (a lot customers were coming in to collect takeaways) but there was a nice atmosphere and the background music wasn't so loud as to be distracting. The price for our meal was very reasonable - it included beer, wine and a couple of soft drinks. You can also bring your own drinks if you wish (we didn't but I'd guess there's corkage to pay if you do). We had a great night out, and we'll definitely be back soon.

Usually have take away a but decided to eat in for a change. Service was first class. Food was perfect. 10/10. Highly recommended. Couldn’t fault the meal or service.

Ordered today 19th jan 2021 at 6.00 pm on their own website, came to 7,30 still hadn’t come, rang them and they said they had overlooked it 😡 got it at 7.50 neatly 2 hours after I ordered it. Was so cross I didn’t enjoy it

Recently visited here with my mum, uncle and aunt. We came to visit and this was their recommendation.. The meal was fantastic, and the prices are great too. All of the staff were very pleasant. It’s brilliant that you are able to take your own drink in with you. The only downside to the dining experience was there was a group of around 10? Who were very loud - I understand people want to have a lovely time, but during this pandemic I think it was irresponsible.

Went for dinner with my partner during the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme. Booked table via Facebook and the restaurant advised at that time that the Early Bird order would not be available at this time, which was fine with us. Hand Sanitizer availably at the entrance for use and tables well spaced out. The food was beautiful. Poppadoms and dips on arrival, for starters we had chicken tikka puree and chicken chat. Mains were chicken saag and chicken Dhansak. The garlic naan is the nicest I have tasted. Very light and crispy. Service was really good too. Could not fault the food or the service. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Have used the carry out a number of times, but recently on at least two occasions we have found the chicken pieces in the meal to be really tough. The rice and nan breads are generally good, but tonight the poppadoms were soft and really greasy, l have my suspicions they were last nights. My advice is to change their meat supplier and if they are giving complimentary poppadoms make sure they are fresh.

We have dined in the restaurant as a family and had quite a few takeaways, never truly exceptional, but never bad. Tonight we had a takeaway for 4, 2 chicken dishes, 2 lamb. As I ate the lamb, my wife asked what I was sniffing at. I'd been out on a bike ride and assumed the smell was me. Wife took one bite and spat it out. I took two bites and did the same. The lamb was very, very off. Wife simply said we would not be back, but I wanted to give the restaurant feedback. When I rang, they where very accommodating, offering to send replacements. I declined. After the call, I tried the kids dishes, similar story. I must admit to losing my rag. I packaged up the food and took it back to the restaurant. Smiling manager greeted me. He explained they had investigated the meat and confirmed it was off. He reassured me that they had thrown it out. I admit to having a WTF meltdown and got a full refund and grabbed the food back, with a view to having it tested by the food standards agency. I don't know how to do that. Tomorrows problem ... In the meantime, really, really avoid. As a minor point, restaurants with a "card machine not working, cash only policy" when the card machine is clearly working suggest a desire not to have money going through the books. Again, flaky practise. Disappointing as a lovely location.

Have had the carry out service several always very high quality. Today in current circumstances we used the delivery service, food was equally as delicious. It doesn’t get any better than this.

We decided last minute to eat out. Had the most amazing meal in this restaurant. Everything tasted so fresh and something as simple as having a different rice (i.e. Lemon and ginger), made such a difference to the meal. Friendly and efficient staff. We'll worth a visit. Will definitely be back.
