The Greek in Plymouth

Stopped off here for a coffee while on my daily walkies and I'm so glad I did as the coffee was what I expect a decent coffee to taste like - hot, well roasted and rich. The staff were really friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and drink available to buy. The Greek also has its own seating outside which offers exquisite views of the harbour and is ideal for people watching. Didn't get to try the souvlaki wraps on offer but The Greek is now on my favourites list for lunch served by staff with great personality.

Had a delivery from this place. Been a long time since I had a proper gyro. I’ve had from other places but was disappointed. This place is the real thing. Fantastic Size and quality filling. Highly recommended.

The customer service is most amazing and the food is just as good. They make you feel extremely welcome and I will definitely be back

4 people had coffee Mine was a double expresso with iced water on side. Only small plastic tumbler with iced water on a very hot . The barista had a bad attitude refused to give me a further iced water! In another cup. Advised me that I would have to pay for plastic cup. Disabled tired and hot I gave up asking.

Great gyros in a stunning location. Freshly cooked and always hot. Perfect on a sunny evening.

We had two really tasty wraps today. One Chicken and one Halloumi. Both were really fresh and tasty. Service was fast and friendly.

Had the Chicken Souvlaki wrap. Fairly short wait for food I think, considering they are cooking it. It's not a fast food chain. Don't expect it to be handed straight to you, or you'll be disappointed. I didn't think I'd be able to eat it all, but it was so yummy I demolished it. Seasoned chicken pieces with salad, tzatziki and some rustic chips, in a thick wrap. No inside space to sit as it'a a small kiosk. Some small tables just opposite, by the quayside, no bigger than 3 people. Ideal for just me. It shares space with a footpath, so there isn't room for bigger tables. Staff were friendly and attentive. The only thing that gave me cause for concern was the massive gull who had his beady eye on my food while I ate! That's why I didn't take any pictures! £10 well spent, I'll definitely visit again.

We ordered 2 souvlaki chicken wraps and waited 40 minutes for the order. The food was good but the service could definitely be improved as it wasn't even that busy. Workers were really slow, talking on the phone whilst preparing the food, people that came after us got the order first. The food was quite expensive as well for the size of it. For chicken wraps i would definitely recommend the bamo restaurant in plymouth city centre as it is cheaper and better. Overall, the food was good but the wait was too long.

Wanted a souvlaki after a trip to the aquarium so checked closing time before we went into the aquarium. The lovely woman said she’d stay open for us and gave us her number. We texted her our order from the aquarium and she said she’d start cooking! She stayed open for an extra half an hour just for us. Can’t ask for service better than that. The souvlakis were amazing and my grandsons asked me to write her a 5 star review! Can’t recommend highly enough , excellent service, value and quality

Food is always pretty good, if not slightly messy but be prepared to wait over 30+ mins for it to be ready even when quiet

A tradition now when I visit my family , we spend one day in plymouth & always have the greek for lunch , great to sit outside in October in warm weather. I have the same each time the special greek Staff friendly as always

Have been here about 5 times now and its always amazing! The most delicious greek wraps, we always get the chicken and halloumi one and its amazing every single time. Staff are always really friendly. Whenever we go to the barbican we HAVE to eat here!!

Stopped for a pork souvlaki and a chicken souvlaki before a boat trip. Both were excellent, lots of tasty meat, fresh chips, salad and tzatsiki in a very good wrap. Will definitely return.

I bought a pork wrap there and I think the meat was stale because with the other person who also ate the same wrap we felt very bad.

My second visit this year & again can't fault this place , friendly service & nice to sit near the harbour. I had the special Greek

Wrap fell apart as soon as I opened it, also had the tiniest amount of sauce inside it so ended up being very dry and unsatisfying. Felt like it was just thrown together without much care or effort, for £10 I expect better. Will not be going again.

We arrived in Plymouth and took a walk around the harbour area before checking into our hotel. Passing The Greek, we saw them preparing the food and it looked really fresh and appetizing so we decided to try it. We had wraps with salad and chips. They were both filling and delicious and we thought they were good value for the money. Would definitely eat there again.

Staff at the kiosk are absolutely lovely, so friendly. Food was amazing! Utterly delicious and in such a fabulous location. Can't think of anywhere on a sunny day I would rather go. 2nd time visiting and will definitely be more visits to come over the summer.

Amazing , the third time we have visited Plymouth & every visit now we can't wait to have our dinner at the Greek, Great little takeaway kiosk , the young girls working are friendly & polite & the special gyros is wonderful . Only have good things to say

Had a chicken and halloumi wrap, and it was delicious. A few too many chips in there for my liking, but the chips were light and crispy and very tasty

Food was OK but it took forever for the food to arrive. They just kept taking new ice cream orders while we waited there. Price was high too.

Persistently excellent souvlaki. Wonderful and kind service. A little on the slow side for a takeaway-like establishment and only pleasant to eat at on a sunny day. Despite that, it is certainly one of my favourite easy places to go get a bite to eat in Plymouth.

Visited last night with friends, food was delicious and a very reasonable price. Costas serves up authentic Greek cuisine, I had the Athenian Kebab and Baclava, both were amazing. Hopefully will be back there soon. If you get a chance well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend not visiting this one for takeaway. I ordered a halloumi wrap which came with 3 pieces of halloumi, a handful of chips and farm load of onions! Nothing Greek at all about this place!

Love the flavours, the warmth of the food and the staff, the generous portions and the location by the harbour. I always get the hallumi wrap which is perfect and it's become my 'go to' place for lunch whenever i'm in Plymouth. Thank you for your yummy service, making my day!

I had been wanting to try this food cabin for a while and boy was it good! I stopped here for lunch and ordered the chicken wrap, which was packed with garlicy chicken, chips, salad and tzatziki in a light and fluffy bread wrap. The flavors were so good and everything cooked well. I would highly recommend! There is seating, so great for chilling in the sun. They do serve alcoholic beverages (but I just had water as I was being boring) and other soft drinks. Just watch out for seagulls ready to steal your lunch! The service was also great and all happy and polite.

Fabulous Greek style Cafe takeaway. The halloumi wrap was fantastic and would rival any found in Greece. Service was very efficient (and needed to be as the place was busy) but friendly and expert. Prices are very reasonable for the portion size and quality. Stayed for ice creams which were a good size for the price and we're delicious. Made our holiday finding this spot for something different and great value

Halloumi wrap was about as Greek as me (my family came from the Barbican). The wrap contained halloumi, chips, lettuce, onion and tomato

We found this on our first day when we had lunch already booked but as you walk around the harbour all you see is people eating Gyros... so on our return visit we had to try it. The halloumi and chicken is delightful, and even the kids were stealing some! Would highly recommend!

Food was nice however the majority of the wrap is onion and the salad has practically no other veggies like tomatoes ect. Pricing is Strange as a Halloumi wrap is £8 but the greek special containing 3 Meats is also £8. I dont run a restaurant but meat is definitely more expensive than halloumi so why charge the same. Felt ripped off

My partner had the chicken souvlaki and she had told me it was absolutely exceptional. (to be honest I had a couple of bites and can confirm) juicy chicken and amazing flavours. Be prepared to wait as it is cooked fresh. Absolutely faultless and would highly recommend. < also we have had this type of wrap from elsewhere, and they don't even come close. Wouldn't go anywhere else moving forward!

Had an absolutely gorgeous chicken wrap yesterday afternoon! The first time eating here and I was not disappointed. The smell caught my nose as I walked along near the boats with a couple of friends and I immediately knew what I wanted for dinner. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the food. It was out of this world! The staff were lovely and friendly too, which is always nice. Loads of people left their wrappers and junk on nearby tables and I helped clean up out of respect for this place. That's how much I liked it. I had planned to come back today, but I'm a little busy and to be honest, I am craving a wrap! Haha. I'll definitely be back as often as I can though. The wraps here are my new food obsession lol.

Holiday to Paxos postponed, Plymouth substituted and so didn't expect this. Hot sunshine, Greek beer and perfect halloumi fries. Nice place to sit and watch the world go by and friendly service

Halloumi wrap was superb. However, the waiting time was 50 minutes at Saturday noon and the staff hadn’t warned that it would have taken so long. As a result, there was a bunch of angry customers awaiting their orders.

Tasty food. However for two chicken wraps and two small beers not even half a pint expensive at £20. Especially when you are use to paying 2.50 euros for a gyros. But that is the UK

The perfectly sized, beautifully cooked, Greek wrapped meal. Loved by every member of the family, and the service was outstanding.

£20.50 for 2 small looking chicken wraps that tasted good but nothing special, was a very disappointing experience to say the least. Taking people's money is an art you do not possess. In Greece that would have cost us no more than a fiver (not delivered) and the tzatziki would contain garlic and dill. Your food has great potential but your prices are your worst enemy

We are locals & stop here every day for coffee at the end of our dog walk. The coffee is really good, always piping hot. The staff are so lovely & friendly 😊

There was a slight mistake with our order so we waited a long time but they were so apologetic, gave us some money back and a drink on the house which was really nice I thought! The wraps were totally worth the wait, really beautiful...

I’ve lived near and worked in Plymouth for over 20 years and at last, at very last there finally is somewhere that serves decent and I mean extremely decent food - the very best for miles in fact.

Best in Plymouth without a doubt, absolutely fantastic food - what a great place, the Barbican is definitely better for having this.

Hemos pasado por este lugar muchas veces pero nunca lo probamos. Hoy nos las arreglamos para estacionar cerca y para ser honesto, íbamos de camino a Cap n Jasper's pero olimos la comida que venía de The Greek y vimos gente comiendo los wraps de Sovlaki. Estamos muy contentos de haberlo elegido, estaba delicioso. Pedimos una envoltura de pollo Sovlaki cada uno y estaba absolutamente repleto de pollo, así como patatas fritas, ensalada y tatziki. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente y sin duda volveremos! ! !

I’m not really someone who tends to leave reviews - good or bad BUT I had the most delicious souvlaki at ‘The Greek’ yesterday afternoon. I opted for the pork and it was incredible and I’ve described it to family’s and friends as one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The pork was succulent, the chips were crunchy with nice spices and everything tasted fresh. Unfortunately I don’t live in Plymouth but it’s probably for the best as I would be visiting every lunch time. #wortheverypenny

I have travelled to Greece many times with my wife and yet to find an eatery here in the UK to match what I have eaten there, I can safely say the souvlaki I had here today was by far the best I've eaten here and in Greece I will definitely be trying it again.... Great food and fantastic friendly customer service! I'm my opinion an absolute winner!

6/7/20 my wife and l went there for lunch. The food &amp; service was absolutely fantastic. Smelt amazing, massive portion ( both had the chicken wrap ). Well presented and good value for money. Washed down with a lemon fanta. The coffee is great also. Thank you.

Walked past the Greek one evening and the aromas as we passed led us to eating there the next day. Lovely souvlaki and although we pre-ordered our food it was not cooked until we turned up. Lovely

Having a birthday in lockdown meant the usual plans were out the window so took advantage of the good weather and got Souvlaki for dinner on the Harbour. Absolutely delicious. Flatbreads full to the the brim! The chicken and pork was top quality, nice and juicy. Beautiful flavours and fresh crisp salad with fries inside made this a very tasty dinner. Will definitely be back.

We stopped by The Greek for lunch on a sunny Sunday. Shared a chicken souvlaki wrap - absolutely delicious. Loaded with succulent, flavourful chicken, garlicky tzatziki and crisp salad. Very generous portions, and the staff are so very friendly. We will be back!

Increíble Souvlaki y caféEste lugar es uno de los pequeños tesoros de Plymouth. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente. He estado aquí varias veces y cada vez he comido el souvlaki de cerdo con un café y es realmente delicioso. Incluso pusieron algunas fichas en el souvlaki, un auténtico toque griego. Todo envuelto en pan griego encantador.El servicio siempre se brinda con una sonrisa y una conversación amistosa y toda la comida se prepara fresca a pedido. Por lo que obtienes, está muy bien de precio y creo que tiene un valor fantástico. Tienen mesas y sillas para que te sientes y disfrutes de tu comida y bebida con vistas al puerto.También ofrecen opciones de pollo y halloumi para Souvlaki, así como ensaladas. Incluso venden cerveza griega.Me encanta este lugar y volveré una y otra vez. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente.

Small but great placement and service. Visited here on 5th February 2020 and tried out this and one other for coffee. The coffee was hot and fresh and the service was good.

Estaba realmente satisfecho con la comida para llevar que pedí para una comida familiar. Pedí wraps de pollo souvlaki con ensalada y papas fritas, con extras de carne de cerdo y halumi. El propietario fue muy servicial y complaciente. La comida fue cuidadosamente envuelta y pudimos disfrutar de la comida griega adecuada en casa. La alta calidad de los ingredientes era obvia, la fiesta resultante estaba deliciosa, gracias.

Después de pegar este lugar un par de veces, finalmente tuve la oportunidad de pasar y pedir una envoltura de pollo. ¡Los dos caballeros fueron educados y amables para hacer mi pedido a pesar de que simplemente se cerraron! ¡No tuve que esperar demasiado para recibir un sabroso y fresco Wrap de pollo Souvlaki servido con ensalada y una salsa tzatziki fresca! ¡Todos los sabores sabían tan bien! Regresaré de seguro.

Stopped here for a change as I wasn't fancying my usual fish and chips and was so impressed! I had the pork souvlaki and it was so tasty. It went down well on a beautiful day sat in the sunshine a delicious combination of pork cooked fresh to order on a fresh bed of salad and soft fluffy bread finished off with a garlic yogurt sauce. Will definitely be coming here again.

Seriously, it's just another takeaway serving cheap kebabs. I was expecting something special and just received dry chicken sprinkled with a little oregano. Not the taste of proper greek food at all.

Stopped for a quick lunch, had a souvlaki which was amazing, fresh ingredients and healthy, will definitely be back!

Great place for a casual dinner in the sun on the Barbican waterfront and makes a nice change from the fish and chip shops. The souvlakis were very full and the halloumi was amazing. Limited menu options but the food is good! Not bad value considering the portion size (£7.50 for one souvlaki including chips) although we did feel that £3.75 for the extra halloumi was a little pricey! Definitely recommend for a quick lunch, dinner or takeaway and would return.

Stopped here for a quick food snack service was brilliant and the wraps were beautiful we had our dog with us and they brought a bowl of water for her
