Had a lovely meal with friends.

Rushed from the moment we stepped in, "have you booked a table" which we had and then followed by "we need it back by 16:20pm" to then be reminded at 16pm we needed to leave by 16:20pm. The lady that meets and greets has no people skills at all. Feels like she takes great delight not just telling us but all the tables in for food and drinks that they need to leave. Not been in here for over 4 years because of this same person, won't be returning. Food great service very poor.

Had a carvery, the carving was exceptional.

Just dined at The Grapes for my birthday. The Carvery is spot on...absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault anything.

I've been here many times on an evening and they do great food. But I was very disappointed today when I turned up with friends after a funeral which I'd recommend to be turned away as they only opened at twelve o'clock but online state's 11 am. 🤨

Bar staff rude, as i couldnt remember the name of my dish i was ordering however, host was helpful to find us a table when busy.

Good food been here plenty of times and always friendly a quick service. It’s advertised on Google as “dog friendly” this is only for the outside seating which is something we wasn’t aware of.

Not the best Sunday carvery lunch. Food flavourless, bland and average. Probably wouldn't have ordered a dessert but didn't get the opportunity as the staff just want you out for the next sitting and I didn't get to finish my drink.

Excellent restaurant. They do the most fantastic carvery and go above and beyond every time. I phoned them up and asked if we could have a table away from others due to bringing a child with luekimia who had been craving a carvery. The manager sectioned off a section of the restaurant so knowone else was sat near us. Thankyou so much for going so above and beyond for us. We really appreciated it. Having luekimia means you can't go into crowded places as your immune system is non existent. So this was just amazing. Thankyou so much

Not sure if I just ordered the wrong thing, and should have just gone for the carvery. Ordered a burger, which was cold. Staff very good at replacing it, but the buns were stale and not really the quality I was expecting having ordered the same burger from other Green King pubs. Such a shame as was a birthday trip out, but came home hungry. Menus could do with a wipe down too 🤢

Always pushing you out as soon as they can. Had 2 meals and was going to get a dessert and we were told we had to move despite reserving our table. They just want to make as much money as they can on meals. Apparently you only get an hour and a half on a table now, it's like a race against the clock to eat your food as soon as you walk in the door. Walked back in just to see what was going on while waiting for a taxi and our table was still free as well as many others, do they actually want business or not? The place is a farce. My AA discount never seems to be working every time I go, conveniently.

We had our Christmas day dinner here and it was fantastic. Food was delicious and the staff were brilliant. Christmas 2025 already booked.

The best carvery I've ever tasted lovely soft vegetables the stuffing was out of this world. The meat was amazing.definitely be back again.

I hardly do reviews on here, but feel this place deserves it. They serve one of the best carvery’s around and put others to shame, no wonder it is packed out every Sunday. The staff work hard and are really friendly and the roast is just like a home cooked roast, you honestly won’t get better. Keep up the amazing work!

Upon arrival met by a lovely host and shown to our table. At the bar the server was welcoming and friendly. We both ordered the carvery and were not disappointed, portion size very generous, the meats cooked to perfection and the veg unlike many other restaurants we have been to was fresh, seasoned, moist and great selection. The pub itself was very comfortable, warm and homely, with a relaxed atmosphere. This is somewhere I would happily come to again and happily suggest to others to try if not been before. Thank you to all the staff for an enjoyable evening.

We love attending the Grapes because the staff are first class, they completely understand what customer service is and how to keep everybody happy and entertained.

I don’t usually do reviews however this is By far the best carvery I’ve been too the food is like your grandma cooked it for you, the staff are lovey friendly relaxed and helpful I honestly can’t recommend this place enough

Had a carvery, every thing was perfect except for the sprouts, they were not cooked properly.

The food was amazing and so was the dessert but there was one staff member who was very rude and kept walking past our table and looks at my family and try rushing us out if the restaurant I will never be rush trying to eat my food and my mum boyfriend was playing the casino games and I was coming back from the bathroom and saw him playing as asked what game he was playing and the same staff member who keeps giving my family weird looks came up to me and touched me and said I can’t be there talking it my mum boyfriend when I can she was so rude and I will never be going there again

Booked a table for 4 on Christmas Day, paid the deposit as requested. Got a phone call 2 weeks later to say my booking has been cancelled. Apparently a ‘glitch’ in their system shouldn’t have accepted the booking. I was told the £40 deposit would be refunded. 5 days later still no refund so I phoned & was told the manager would call me back. 24 hours later still no call so I went in person. Explained to the lady front of house my reason for being there & she said she would go and get the manager. Conveniently the manager had a family emergency so was unable to deal with my query. I was told refunds can take up to 10 days! As I wasn’t getting anywhere with staff I left a comment on the Facebook page asking why I have to wait for a refund, surprise surprise the comment got deleted. If I return goods to a store I get a refund straight away. Why should I be expected to wait 10 days for a refund because of YOUR mistake!! Absolutely appalling customer service. Usually eat here regularly but won’t be returning & won’t be recommending to family & friends.

Took my grandchildren out for a meal yesterday and we had a very pleasant dining experience which isn’t always the case with a three year old. The staff were amazing and accommodated the children’s requirements above and beyond. Food, environment and staff were fantastic. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you all for your hospitality!

Great environment, lovely company

After a long walk in Llangollen we decided to have some lunch so instead of finding somewhere local we drove back to The Grapes because the carvery is legendary. Once again we were not disappointed, it was a gorgeous meal and well worth the drive back.

Front of house service absolutely appalling. The lady with the short hair, who meets, greets, and seats you, needs sending on a customer service course. My advice to her, If you can't stand the heat, get out the kitchen. We didn't even get to eat, we left. Will not be going back.

I eat from here at least once a month, almost always the carvery. Food is always of a good standard

Been to this pub numerous times and have never had a bad meal or experience. Staff are really friendly and the food is excellent and very reasonable, can’t recommend enough!

Posted about here previously. Mucky tables no service. We went somewhere else. I've never been back, whatever is said it was not good on my last visit and the place is in darkness in evenings is it a curfew, what's going on in this so called country. Thanks for comment, yeh was a bit ago, was supposed to be a special day but no one around to assist no tables ready we we all dissapointed , don't know if it was one off as it sometimes appears popular, must have picked wrong time, may perhaps try again.

The Best carvery ever. Went on a Sunday. The smell of roast dinner cooking was enough to entice me. This is a very popular carvery so quite a queue but moved fast. Food was exquisite. So much choice. I had some of everything. Loved it. Would be wise to book for a Sunday but this fabulous carvery is on every day. 10/10 for the chef staff and atmosphere.

Visited on Sunday 6 October to celebrate my mums birthday and I can’t recommend it enough! Fabulous food - we all had the carvery and every one of our party of 14 commented on how delicious it was; amazing and attentive staff - everyone was so friendly and helpful and went over and above to make it a special occasion and excellent value for money. It was very busy so booking is essential but that’s because it’s so good. Thanks to all the staff at The Grapes.

One of the best carvery's around. All of the vegetables were fresh, and none were overcooked. The meat was tender and not dried out. A very good selection of potatoes and vegetables to choose from and the roast potatoes were perfect .Even the gravy was just right. Plenty of sauces to choose from, too. A really delicious and tasty roast meal. No wonder the place was busy. Have to say a big well done to the chef and the people in the kitchen who definitely know how to do a good carvery And of course, the floor staff, who were very polite and full of smiles.

Went for the first time today with the wife, did not know what to expect as we only saw this online, was very pleasantly surprised. Was greeted by a very polite lady who showed us to our table. As for the food OMG it was delicious, I had the crispy chicken and my wife had the large fish and chips (2 pieces of fish) the portions were that big my wife gave me half of hers. The food tasted absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be coming back.

Carvery was stunning, couldn’t fault it, chef was friendly and will definitely go back for that, but we ordered a burger and fries from the menu also and honestly, it was really bad, didn’t look or taste very good and my daughter left it after a bite and had a couple of fries, burger was frozen and bun was stale, such a shame and spoilt it for us because she didn’t enjoy her food, staff were ok, lots of girls standing around chatting when I went to place my order which was uncomfortable and front desk cashier only talked to us to say, I need the table back in 2 hours. My 1 star was for pub menu food but the carvery food was 5 star
